Yuki has run more sub 2:20 marathons than anyone else, something like 110 of them, and he's won nearly 50 of them. He can bury himself at the end of a race like virtually no-one else. Pushing yourself to your limit on a marathon is called zipping up your Yuki suit!

Some correction for your content here: Only top 2 of the MGC have secured their Olymipic appearance, while the 3rd, Suguru "Sugar" Osako's spot is not secured. Based on the rule of MGC, if any Japanese runners run faster than 2:05:50 in the next 3 Japansese marathon majors, Sugar's spot will be taken - If more than one run faster than 2:05:50 then the fastest will obtain the spot. If no one breaks 2:05:50 then Sugar will go to Paris. Hense the MGC is one of the most critical Olympic marathon trials.

Many marathon runners don't reach their peak until their mid 30s and they're still doing well in their late 30s. That is true of Eliud Kipchoge and was true of Kenenisa Bekele and Haile Gebrselassie. Kawauchi's age is not the most important thing here. He's at his peak right now.
@rook1196
@rook1196 11 месяцев назад
If Kiptum is 22 years old in 2003 he's in the diamond league. If Eliud is 22 today he's specializing in the marathon. The next gen of great marathoners will be in their early-mid 20s and don't be shocked if another bursts onto the scene and beats Kiptum to sub 2hr. Thanks to mainly shoes, the marathon just isn't as brutal as it used to be not to mention the money and sponsorships are in the marathon now.
@pukulu
@pukulu 11 месяцев назад
It should be mentioned that many of the marathon runners who were doing well in their 30s specialized in track racing for most or all of their 20s. We will never know if Kenenisa Bekele would have run some great times if he was running the marathon when he was younger.@@rook1196

Because human beings are so much the same, lf not almost identical, under the gentic hood breeding for an given trait has not yet worked. But for those of you who only like winners and in particular GOATs Nosotros just pissed on your parade. If we do not start handing out prizes that recognize effort, as the company who supports this man dose in concert with his local fans, your heath care cost will continue to rasie to the point that only a GOAT like Jordán can afford the premiums. What Nostradamus is saying is if you turn off the big screen with those so call sports on and go out for your runs he will find you and thank you for lowering his Health Care costs. Thus the real race is seen in a Walmart parking lot. The more people who win the race of shopping and putting what they buy in the car and pushing the cart back into the cart rack the better it is for us all. The only people who are fit need not be runners, bikers, postal workers, and Amazon delivery drivers. It aint about winning it is about pulling me off the couch when I see a brave race ran in the storm. Thank you Nostradamus.
