So there's a show called randy Cunningham 9th grade ninja which effectively has an Akuma concept called "Stank" same rules, bad feelies results in big monster, they have an item the stank is focused through, break the item, remove the stank, it's dope and I love it
Ppl hate the Adrien's line abt Marinette being a friend. But to Adrien, who's never really had friends? "Just a friend" is a HUGE deal. Been there, done that, sailed that ship. The feeling that you have that first friend is powerful.
We don't hate it... We just become exasperated that Adrien lacks any self-awareness of his own growing feelings for Marinette. But we DO understand it. We're just like... "Boy... Plz... you look at her with those heart eyes every time."
It literally is, having a good, honest, reliable friend for the first time in your life is _incerdible._ However, it doesn't mean that we don't all scream in agony whenever he repeats it in the later episodes
You're actually pretty spot on with the whole butterfly thing. He has a butterfly farm in his lair. His power can only turn them into akumas, not create them.
Thank you Nathaniel Kurtzberg, for the entire Origins duology, you just sat there in the back of the class, head down on the desk like you were going through a constant existential crisis. The unspoken hero we needed
The butterflies that Hawk Moth uses are actual butterflies. And yes, he needs to keep replenish them and there's an episode that shows that. Once they are turned into akumas, they search for negative emotions, attaching themselves to an object connected to the targeted person. Through the akuma, Hawk Moth is able to transform negativity into power, in that way creating a supervillain under his influence. But, as you could see, if that person stops having negative emotions, the akuma is not able to make a connection.
Speaking of the akuma, in the origin episodes only do they function differently, ladybug always has to de-evilize first before the guy goes back to normal, in these episodes Ivan goes back to normal as soon as the item is broken
@mr.witherhmc9304 there are some episodes where they go back to normal first, but it can be somewhat inconsistent. Part of that is she usually sets everything back to normal somewhere in the short timespan too, but you certainly have a point. It's also interesting that LB doesnt have to raise ladybugs, though Isuppose her kwami is creation.
Honestly it would be so funny if the next Miraculous reaction were to the season 5 finale, it would be hilarious to see your reaction to just how crazy this show got over the years, but without most of the context (Btw the finale is "The Final Day", not "Action", Action is an environmental special which takes place mid-season)
For your confusion about how the yoyo hurt all those butterflies: she wasn't hitting them but chatching them. She catches the butterfly in her yoyo every episode in order to purify it (she does it in this one again in another scene). That's why everyone looks at her in awe, she wasn't smacking an empty space, but catching and purifying a large amount of butterflies very quickly. The two parter came around the end of the season so at that point viewers got used to seeing her do it every episode, so for us it was maybe a bit clearer what was going on
Yes. Gabriel does have a butterfly farm where he creates normal butterflies and turns them into akumas. When ladybug 'purifies' the akuma it becomes a regular butterfly once more.
The fandom can’t call it MLB because too many times people have tried to make conversation about Major League Baseball and I am not built for sports talk
Mostly, I think the MLB is reserved for talking about it in, like, Tumblr posts and sometimes AMV’s; mostly if people are physically saying it, I think it’s just ‘Miraculous’, or sometimes ‘Miraculous Ladybug’.
@loafi9900 Yes. Would a calm and rational person agree to be a supervillain just like that? The akumatized person must accept the powers Hawkmoth offers him. The akuma amplifies the negative emotions and prevents the victim from coming to his senses. However, it is possible to reject an akuma, both while Hawkmoth offers it to you, and after you already accepted it. In later seasons, there are episodes where the heroes manage to calm down the villain and convince him to reject the akuma.
@@loafi9900 Nulu kinda said it.. that you just use butterflies to make a devoted followers. There was nothing said about emotions. That's Hawkmoth's mindgame.
I've never noticed until this video the expression on Adrien's face as he says "hey Chloe". That's a big bit of Cat Noir personality coming through his good boy school persona.
Ahh, yeah I see it now! That’s cool! He’s a sweet, good-hearted boi with an old soul and a mischievous spirit, even at school; no wonder all the girls love him, lol
A curiosity: there is a French expression "coup de foudre" which literally means something like "Thunderbolt" But it is an expression of when there is love at first sight. And you can hear thunder in the umbrella scene. The moment Marinette fell in love
We really have no idea about the butterflies. All we really know is that he farms them. As for whether they're a magic breed or if any regular butterfly can become an akuma, that's still left unanswered
@@The_froggy_one I mean he already saw the corpse in Chat Blanc, I hope watches the other episodes though. He can skip season 1, except for Princess Fragrance and Volpina, and then he can continue in order.
You'll find a lot of the last names are quite on the nose. As you said, Chloe is a Bourgeois in more ways than one, and Marinette's last name is Dupain, which is literally "of bread" as the baker's daughter. I'm not certain about the rest, but I hear Agreste refers to some breed to butterfly.
??? Adrien?! Is that you?! 😃🤩 😉 lol, just kidding. I’ve never seen it happen to anyone irl, and I feel like I probably would also be like Adrien and just laugh really hard at whoever it was it happened to, lol. And then joke (good-naturedly) afterwards with them like, ‘you don’t even know how to work an umbrella? 😉😆’
Yeaa we Miraculous fans know this the best but Miraculous is basically the most chaotic “kids” show ever. We hate it, but we love it 🥰 Also you should watch the episode Puppeteer 2 with Miraculous’s cringiest scene 💀💀💀 anddd we usually say MLB for the fan animations and stuff lol
You can keep on watching the show if you want. There are some great episodes and most of the ones from season 1 are self-centered, so you don't have to worry about the order. Only starting from season 2 you need to watch the episodes in a especific order to better understand them. But if you don't want to watch the show, may I suggest you the episode "Sapotis"? That one (which is from season 2) has a moment that changed everything for the show.
He has a butterfly farm but honestly, we have no idea. Whether they start magic or not he makes them evil and he does have a butterfly farm that he manages somehow. It's honestly just a very weird unanswered question that i would also like to know cause it bothers me too
Glad the part two is finally here!! Cant wait to see where you move in the series from here because it’s utter chaos no matter what lmao (loving the floofy hair btw adds to the emotion-)
20:50 Yes, he has a special place for growing butterflies in his basement, where Adrian’s mother is kept. In some episode they showed how he collects them from there
If you think camembert isn't smelly, that's cause you've never eaten one in france!! I swear the number one problem every french family has to face is the smell when you open the fridge.... (fr fr..)
I will recomend once again watching and listening to Ladybug PV. This was how It was inicialy suppossed to be, in 2D animation and much darker. It gives such an nostalgic feel and I just LOVE IT.🥺🥰🎆🎇
@@StrawberryStar7 Maybe,BUT It has so much character and passions in IT! I just LOVE how it was suppossed to be and the animation style. Besides this was the start I don't see why one shouldn't react to this masterpiece!🥰🎆🎇
@@StrawberryStar7 But the trailer litarally has a song. Why wouldn't It fit? 🧐 I guess It might be my bias but the song is quite good in my opinion and with the animation seems like a good choice for reacting.
I agree that part of the draw of Miraculous Ladybug is that the world feels pretty unique compared to similar "young chosen one" stories. I feel like Shuga Chara (2007 anime) is probably the closest thing I can think of in terms of the premise of different tiny entities not everyone can see being able to give you various powers.
This was a great reaction, you're so right whether you've chimed in too early or not. If you wanted you could watch series 1 in your own time and move onto posting reactions for series 2 onwards 👉👈 Hawkmoth has no respect for any ecosystems fr, he's too busy giving his relatives trust issues. Also lol the accent at the end, honestly the biggest con of miraculous was tricking most of the fandom into loving a protag whos actually been half british the whole time, the way a bunch of people felt cheated when that was revealed lmao.
@@Haileydybdahl i think felix is just overdramatic lol, though they would've had a title for sure. Emilie was disinherited when she chose to run off with Gabriel. So that leaves Amelie as either a Countess, a Baroness, or a Lady of a Lordship imo.
There is actually a show with a similar concept to an akuma! It's called "Randy Cunningham 9th Grade Ninja" and it has an Invader ZIM artstyle, an OP AS ALL HELL SUPERHERO, mastering all four elements like the avatar, Ben Schwartz as the voice for the main hero, and just a regular nice teenage boy with parental instincts as the protagonist who can also be a hero outside the suit. They kind of predated the akuma with the corrupted bead from the Sorcerer's jewelry (I think it was from that anyway).
If you want to blow your mind you need to watch emotion, you’ll don’t understand anything but that chapter is brilliant and one of the best of all the series
There's, like, six major characters in it that he hasn't encountered yet. Foreshadowing regarding a theory that involves plot points he doesn't know about. It begins with casually reiterating a major change in the status quo that only occurred a few episodes prior--much later than anything he's seen thus far. He should definitely watch it next.
8:45 and that’s a sign how much sheltered Adrien was. He couldnt fully understand what’s happening around him. And it’s Gabriel’s fault for locking him in at home
Actually due to Adrien's isolated life, he couldn't really understand how to interact with others or the feelings he felt. That umbrella scene was not only the day Marinette fell for Adrien ,it was also the moment Adrien fell for Marinette, buuut, because he had never experienced love before, to him, falling for two people at once was very confusing so he associated his feelings for Marinette as a friendship since he had already fallen for Ladybug first.
Miraculous' power structure and worldbuilding really is so unique. It's one of the most interesting pieces of the show to me. It's not only that, either. The characters, their dynamics, the plot progression, everything. I've never seen a story quite like this one. It's fascinating!
Pretty sure they're regular butterflies that Hawkmoth farms in the basement next to his dead wife... I truly love explaining anything from this show! It's so wild!
"Everything is so cute and wholesome and nice and --" oh no, he's fallen for their traps. He's been lulled into a false sense of security. He doesn't know
This show is really good and gets much better after season two and three, once they've found their groove and put more thought into the storylines and story threads that get connected throughout different episodes, putting more thought into the actual story in the later seasons, which makes them a lot more interesting. In terms of the butterfly miraculous, I'm not sure if they are just random butterflies he obtains or if you estimate since they are only white I assume that he has to make more and they're not just regular butterflies that can be found anywhere, yes he will run out and needs to get more of them but I think they're made from the butterfly miraculous just like with the peacock miraculous there's only so many feathers and he needs to make more, but as for the peacock and butterfly miraculous, they are different from the other ones in that whoever they're being used by will change how they're used, if used by someone good with good intentions the butterfly will not turn into an Akuma, if it was being used by the heroes they would still use it to control people but in a different way, whereas when Hochmuth uses it he's turning them into evil butterflies that need to be transformed back by ladybug using her yo-yo, same with the peacock miraculous, she needs to transform the feathers back, but if they're used by someone else they can just be destroyed when they're done using them, we see a really great example of what different miraculous powers Are and how they work depending on who is using them, when monarch has all of the miraculous for example, some of them he uses in the same way the good guys do, but some of them are used differently, it just depends on how and who is using them. But I hope this helped.
Agreed about improving after the first season. I think the more they leaned into how hard it would be to balance a normal life and a superhero life (especially emotionally at their age) and how those frustrations and challenges compounded things, the more compelling the stories became.
something I've always found funny, is how miraculous producers fr went "Let's put the beginning in the middle, have no one know what's happening until 20 ish episodes in"
Whenever we hear Adrien say Marinette's just a friend, it is a major trauma all Miraculous fans share, wheter you ship Adrienette or not. EDIT: You guys are probably going to hate me for doubting anything from the Umbrella scene but why is the sky so dark if they are barely getting out of school. It's the first time I notice that must not be right.
@@mariannaortiz2426just assuming that it's the same in france and the uk, but it does start to get dark earlier in September (when school starts up again). Also when it rains it gets *dark*
I think you’d enjoy reacting to some Scooby Doo songs. Here are a few good ones: Scooby Doo: Pirates Ahoy- “That’s the Way We Go” Scooby Doo: Pirates Ahoy- “Blow Ye Winds” Scooby Doo and The Cyber Chase- “Hello Cyberdream” Scooby doo and the Goblin King- “Goblin Oogie Boogie” Scooby doo on Zombie Island- “It’s Terror Time Again” Scooby doo and The Alien Invaders- “How Groovy” Scooby doo! Mystery Incorporated- “Trap of Love” Scooby doo and the Witch’s Ghost- “Earth, Wind, Fire, and Air” Scooby doo and the Witch’s Ghost- “I’m a Hex Girl”
8:34 this is exactly the reason why I binged the entire series after watching the Netflix movie. There’s a lot of layers in this show and even though the writing is a mess at times, it’s still interesting and entertaining.
I gotta say that there IS a show similar to Miraculous, well at least in case of the Akumas. That is Mew Mew Power in which Cyniclones do transform others into villains/monsters. That show was literaly my childhood and I still LOVE IT! The English adaption by 4kids made AMAZING songs and music for trasformations, like they SLAY. I recomend listening to them.
Ahhhh the Umbrella scene!!! So beautiful Something I learned about it which makes it even more special - In the moment when Adrien holds out his umbrella and hey just stare at each other for a moment, you can hear thunder in the background. In French, there is an expression - 'coup de foudre' - which translates literally as 'clap of thunder' And it means 'Love at first sight' awwwww, however weird and annoying the show got from season 3 onwards, I'll always love them.
you should watch the episodes with chloe's mom! it gives alot of backstory for why she is the way she is, and also is the episode she gets a miraculous! (Imo her transformation is the CUNTIEST in the show)
with the MLB thing, a lot of people use MLB as a abbreviation, but refer to the show as Miraculous. If you were to see fan videos people have made and things like that, you'd see how people abbreviate it as MLB but opt to refer to it as just Miraculous
I'm so happy you enjoyed it, I would love to see your reaction to more episodes. There are specials call miraculous world that I would love to see you react to! If they get past the youtube censors 😅
As an American, MLB can either mean Miraculous Ladybug or Major League Baseball, and sometimes it’s easier to just say Miraculous than to search for context clues.
also also Hawkmoth being cryptic about his wish is because, despite having the same VA, it wasn't technically revealed that Gabe is Hawkmoth until the s2 premiere
And I fucking hated when it changed! How did Marinette's ATTEMPTED SEXUAL assault on Adrien make Adrien fall in love with her?! ADRIEN! You have Stockholm syndrome! Stay away from Marinette the terrorist forgiver!
@@DFeligamiAdrizoeSworaDennisFanMarinette never tried to sexually assault Adrien what are you talking about?? Stockholm syndrome is falling in love with our abuser when did Marinette ever abuse Adrien
Omg, the video gave me a lot of favorite lines from you: "Sad boy"... "Sad boy winning her over!". And "No sir come here. Why don't I give it in an English accent?"... AND THEN you proceeding in an accent "No SiR cOmE hErE" JUST HAD ME UNSTOPPABLY LAUGHING FOR SOME MINUTES
The fact that hawkmoth actually does have a butterfly farm in his basement that he turns into akumas and he goes out every few months to collect more butterflies😭
Regarding the butterfly theory you were talking about we see him doing both. When Hawkmoth transforms butterflies flood from his suit but we also see him catching them from cocoons so I’d have to say both..?
The answer to your question about the butterflies or the algunas that hawk moth uses is found in one of season 3 (I think) episode “party crasher”, besides it includes a lot of hawk moth things that you can find out and a lot of mysteries
Regarding the repercussions of being akumatised, you have to remember it is a kid's show. There really are no reprecussions. It's not something they actively address but overall every time that Ladybug and Cat Noir save someone from an akuma they try and talk it out. They often ask the victim what caused the akuma and sometimes even try to come up with solutions to the problems that has made the akumatised person react that way. As seen in the previous episode (Origins P1) where Ladybug tells Ivan his feelings for Mylene are valid and it is okay to be scared. In the show, akuma victims are not blamed as the 'terrorists', and everything is blamed on Hawkmoth, probably from Ladybug and Cat Noir explaining the powers to the media and authorities. They most likely told the public that Hawkmoth reacted to negative emotions in order to control people, and since you really can't tell people to NOT have emotions, then the akumatised people are seen as victims rather than the perpetrator. The reason that we see everyone attacking Ivan in this episode means it must not have been addressed yet. In later episodes, you don't EVER bring up someone's akumatisation, you don't talk about it and when someone does point fingers because of it everyone seems shocked. It can be inferred that it becomes a heavy cultural thing to not bring it up in conversation. It's a heavy topic and has to do with emotions you can't control. Unless you are a friend of the victim or aiding in comforting the victim after they have been dekumatised, than you don't bring it up. It probably regarded in the same way we regard traumatic events happening to others, and it is probably considered on the lines of that in the Miraculous world (there are scenes where akumatised victims are given trauma blankets). Additionally, you have to consider the fact that Hawkmoth is incredibly active. The entirety of the 5 seasons we have so far encompass only 9 months. Within those 9 months Mr. Pidgeon (you haven't met him yet but he is an incredibly iconic villain in the fandom) is akumatised 72 TIMES. That's a lot. Although it is acknowledged that some days are busy than others. There are mentions of Hawkmoth being 'quiet' when it's only been 2 or 3 days. But within that time probably a HUGE chunk of Parisians were personally akumatised or had a family or friend that got akumatised. They realise that you really do have no control and that you are being completely used by this supervillain. Bringing it up can often cause guilt on there part, and suddenly people are talking about your 'villiany' and what you did during that time you got mad your classmate broke the heirloom from your dead grandmother. Basically, no one wants to bring it up. If you are it is seen as incredibly rude and unnecessary. Whether from guilt, trauma, politeness or even the fact that the show doesn't want to address such heavy topics. That's how it can be interpreted, there are no real in script answers given though.
I’m the episode Félix you can see gabe harvesting the butterflies around Emile’s body so yes he does have a butterfly farm and those are actual butterflies
If you're doing more Miraculous, I'd recommend watching Emotion (this one would be especially hilarious without context of the rest of the show), Party Crasher, Animaestro, Santa Claws (for Christmas), and Miraculous World New York: United Heroez. Or, if you want a different show, how about full episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is magic? I'd say start with Lesson Zero, then move on to Slice of Life, Pinkie Pride, and The Perfect Pear.
2:27 This whole thing is just me. Thinking the room is incredible and then wondering why there's a sink. And then thinking a ladder to the roof and a bay window are incredible then wondering how the sink drains. Then back to admiring her room. 23:12 He went back to school on his own, no one knew he left remember? Cause he left as Cat Noir.
