A fun fact about synchro herding: wild species all seem to have a fear value, and each species that you use have a different intimidation value. If the species' intimidation value is higher than the fear value, they'll run away in the opposite direction on sight. If you don't, they'll move randomly. The intimidation value doesn't seem to be linked to anything in particular, but the intimidation and fear values are different, since Pokemon that aren't scared too easily, like Scyther, don't necessarily scare away Pokemon that are easier to scare. I won't pretend I researched it very extensively, but that's what a few hours of research gave me as a conclusion.
Someone should figure it out and make a chart of it or something, like just to find out what the best PKMN is for herding in terms of Intimidation. Maybe one could pick the fastest out of the more intimidating ones?
@@JerBearLF I tried researching if abilities made a difference, it looks like they don't. 0 correlation between being able to scare Pokemon and: -Level -Height -Weight -Type advantage -Base Stats -Movement Speed -Ability -Moves It seems strictly based on species.
I mean, I see no difference. A sheep dog might be a little fluffier, but I don't see why a short hair herding dog wouldn't exist. That right there is just a really fast herding dog, if I've ever seen one
Gen 10 pokemon professor is here!! Hello i am Catherine and I study on pokemons movement. If you complete the pokedex i will give you a shiny charm with boosted luck.
for the second elekid it was at its roaming radius, that's why it didn't go closer to you. essentially, pokemon can only go a certain distance from the point they spawned from and when they walk its usually a set distance and the end point can only exist within the roaming radius. that's why the elekid kept walking back and forth. the roaming radius is bigger than the spawn radius. some pokemon are an exception usually ones that are on a set path like certain carkoal and rolycoly in the area of the orthworm titan or the rolling donphan near the top of the mountain next to alfornata.
11:40 And this is why I fell in love with this pokemon during gen 7. I didn't care about it before but meeting one during a very low point in my life cheered me up. I love his laid back and yet goofy attitude.
The position of the player character during synchro mode gives me anxiety. I always feel like he's gonna blow up a vein in his head by concentrating too much. Also, I vote to name this Latias Synchro. 20:51 Great, now I have something else to be anxious about while in synchro mode. Thanks Catherine ^^
Neither of the tyrouges there are shiny the one thats further back looks like you could mistake it for a shiny but when it moves you can see the brown on its legs
Gen 10 new professor :- Hello my name is Catherine and I study on pokemons movement! If you complete the regional dex i will give you a shiny charm with boosted chances.
Giratina: *"I am darkness, god of the underworld, the Pokemon of the Shadows. All who behold me fear my near limitless power."* Farigiraf: "Bet, my name's Jeff."
I love this video, edited just enough and in just the right way, good pacing, unique topic, the right amount of emotion for a fitting situation It just beings back memories of nostalgia RU-vid and I hope I see more content like yours soon
Ohh the heartbreak on that Farigiraf..... Good on you for taking a bit of a break after that one haha, hope you got the jumbo one pretty quick! I'm so glad you got the Trapinch atleast!! I failed one recently, still working on a reclaim
Watched this video as I played a story playthrough of Legends Arceus. God, my nerves were going straight through the roof trying to simultaneously try to catch an alpha Torterra while you were dealing with that Farigiraf.
why did they make it possible to kill shinies in synchro mode? that makes 0 sense to me,if auto battle don't kill shinies then synchro mode shouldn't ethier, that's so messed up
I have caught so many shinies watching your videos, thanks for being such an amazing influence and inspiration! I also would have no idea how to shiny hunt without your channel.
thanks to you i learned to love this franchise even more, despite the low performance in the latest games, so thank you for keeping me from drifting away from my childhood
Learning all of these things and just from watching the pokemon, their behavior and reactions to other pokemon... you're on the way to being an actual Pokemon Professor.
This seems like a great idea for a group challenge where they have to only catch shiny pokemon with this method (i would suck at this 😅) also congrats on no more scruff tech 🎉
That Elekid was even annoying me xD, but congrats on your new shinies!! Here’s some names I thought of: Tyrogue: Armista Elekid: Pacer Scraggy: Rox Krokorok: Bumble Trapinch: SeaBreeze
I wish there was a Pokémon game that was a different genre because you got to play from the perspective of the Pokémon, like a platformer where each Pokémon has pros and cons in how they allow you to beat a stage
I recently stumbled on your channel, i have binged an entirely unreasonable amount of your content, i absolutely adore you & your content, that right there is clearly Synchro, the Latias. Liked and subscribed and all that Jazz #WooperTrooper
Pretty sure Pokémon have a “spawn radius”, where they’ll path back to where they spawned if they exited it, so I recommend keeping your character close by! Hope this helps!
it's funny to see you hunting a shiny Tyrogue near those three puddles, because i was actually just the other week hunting an oubtreak shiny squirtle (and yes, they only spawned in the puddles, i wanted to kms) and ended up getting a shiny tyrogue along the way the odds are slim, but not none, that we both found a tyrogue at the same time
Im here because i watched the collab with royal pear and you just earned a subscriber HOW DIDN'T I KNOW YOU YOURE CONTENT IS THE BEST (Edit: i almost forgot to subscribe thanks for making me remember)
You get a subscribe for helping me get in the mood for shiny hunting again. My best record is almost 20 different shinies in 24 hours with no sandwiches. Luckiest I've ever been in any pokemon game
Good luck in your research! From watching, it seems like there is some type of boundary pokemon cannot cross, possibly to keep them from straying too far from their spawn location.
"Good lord, this thing is evil." Accurate statement, given that my first ever failed shiny was an Elekid in White 2 that broke out of all of my Pokeballs.
