Gen 2 is my favorite. Mostly nostalgia, but i actually think it’s really good. Just enough freedom. I feel like the limitations of the gameboy really ruined the potential of the postgame, but I still enjoyed it. I just wish my favorite Pokémon wasnt locked till the literal end… looking at you misdreavus…

Gen2 also brought us shinys! And shinys in that game def hit different. I will say the game is incredibly flawed for a multitude of reasons, but it's charming despite that and is one of my favorite gens!

I’m a late Pokémon player (circa Pokémon Sword/Shield) but I have only managed to get 5 shinies in total through six Pokémon games… Sword/Shield, Let’s Go Pikachu, Diamond/Pearl and Arceus!!! Haven’t completed any of them just yet either!
