@@TsunauticusIV for real tho one of these would fill a pan. Seems like a really good place to fish and the bluegill will never get overfished as you dont need to catch 5 of them just for a meal. 2-3 times a week just go catch yourself a giant and you're good.

@@puregameplay7916 the place I used to catch them was a medium sized lake. It’s a 23 acres private lake. Only fished by a few people. The guy that owns the lake has offered the property for training/experiments for the Fish and wildlife services. They have done that “shocking” thing out there several times to stun and record fish size/weights. Been some absolutely behemoth bluegill come from there. This lake is in very close proximity to a large city and the owner doesn’t want the word to get out about the beautiful animals living in there. The lake is over 60 years old now and has lots of structure. Anyway… about 10 years ago the dropped the lake water level several feet for dam repairs. During the drop they discovered massive fresh water muscles had been living in there too. I still have one of the shells. 11 3/4” long. Absolutely massive for a freshwater muscle. There were thousands of them living in that lake. I dug up a lot of them and relocated them to the water so they didn’t dye. Lol

Nothing like the taste of blue gill and crappie. Crappie is my favorite fresh water fish to eat and catch. I sat on the hull of our old boat and dropped my line right down into clumps of bushes in Blue Mountain Lake, Arkansas. We'd pull out 2 and half pound crappie one after another. It was late after and hot, so I raised my cork to let bait get about a foot deeper. As that bobber settled on the waves all of a sudden that bobber disappeared. I thought, "Oh great. I'm hung up in the bushes under water. But I went ahead and set my hook and zoom up to the top came a large fish and leaped into the air and nearly landed in our boat. I was screaming for dip net but I never got it. I was so afraid that fish would hit the water and tangle me up good, so I ranked my line up and swung that fish toward the back of the boat. And heard a loud "ow!" And a friend grabbed that line to take fish off and he said, "For slapping me up sife the head with this fish, I'm tempted to throw him back in." Before he got all of that out of his mouth, I'd already scrambled off the hull and was there grabbing my fish away from him. We weighed fish and he was a bit over 3 pounds. My husband figured fish had been fertilizing some eggs because he was scarred a bit. He wasn't a female, so I kept him.

I lived in Havasu in the 90's, best fishing for an assortment of species (even turtles) my fave are the stripers and night fishing for "big cats" wish i still lived there!

@@TyPigPatrol I got it on a 3.5" suspended rapala. I was out on a boat dock and it went under and out the other side. Had to muscle it out a few times. My estimate is 6-7 lbs. Had some nice girth on it. Fought like it was twice the size.

I would of course recommend Kastking.......The carbon Zephyr in size 3000 should be great for anything bass fishing. As for the rod, if its panfish the Wideeye rod is really good,( also from kastking) if more for bass the speed demon pro rods are excellent!
