Glad Eddy talked about Anub Rekhan, it pisses me off lol. Perfect example of a badly designed card, insane high roll potential with no drawback because it's a 0 mana 7/7 at worst (or you can keep the armor). Will be in every non aggro druid deck alongside aquatic form, another dumb 0 drawback card.
Yeah, always love playing two insane value cards in a row and then summoning the biggest taunts in the game, which are all completely free (astalor into funny guitar guy)
anub doesnt feel very unfair or out of place for druid honestly, esp with the classes lacking defences rn, but even as someone playing it i wish they'd kill off jailer and tony - its fun but not something i want to be seeing for another year
@@drymdryn hard disagree, anub is one of the least fun to play vs designed cards ive seen in a really long time of hearthstone lmfao. druid does nothing but spam gain armor, then floods the board with obscenely large minions and effects. the only real interaction you have is afk smacking them and playing on curve lmfao
Anub Rekhan's worst part is that there isn't really any counterplay. The supposed counterplay is to keep the Druid's armor at literally 0, but sometimes that is not even enough. 10 mana Druid can go from 0 armor to playing Anub RekHan + Underking + Hero Power (which needs to only give 2 armor) + Jailer + Tony, and that's with 0 discounts btw. The bare MINIMUM that the devs were requiring you to use was the 2 mana Plating card, to get 4 armor at the start of your turn, essentially telegraphing your combo turn, but that doesn't even matter nowadays.
This video actually gives the new expansion the love it deserves! Current standard really is just too far power crept that most new cards are seeing very little viable play lol
The really fascinating part to me is that, unlike when Witchwood was released and they consciously released weak cards to dial back on the power creep, resulting in the expansions from the year prior seeing more play than anything new (barring Genn/Baku), pretty much all of the new cards, save for maybe the Warrior ones, are still, in terms of power level, miles above anything up to maybe a few months ago. Most of the Legendary spells are not at all bad cards, and would've been by far some of the strongest cards in the game had they been released a couple years ago - and yet they're too slow and unimpactful now. Really says a lot about the state of the game these days.
Beautiful image at the end there from Eddy. Rarran just going face first into a steak, no cuttlery, hands tied behind back, will haunt me for the next little while
Warriors in wow do not focus on armor as much as druid. It’s pretty on point. Warrior armor is all passive, Druids spend resources to increase armor and have talents to make that armor do more.
@@WeebJail Priest’s hero power gives healing but paladins have always had higher value healing cards. Warlocks hero power draws cards but other classes have better cards to draw, Demon hunter’s hero power just gives attack but Druids can get better attacking stats. Your argument doesn’t make sense to me. Hunter’s hero power damages enemy heros but mages have better burn.
idk if anyone is gonna say it but i love how you show the keywords definitions, really helps people like me who dont really play hearthstone understand whats happening
You and Eddy are my fav hearthstone content creators but I feel like it would be more entertaining for both you guys and the audience if you guys could talk to each other during the gameplay. When I saw it was an Eddy collab I was hoping for some riffing back and forth.
@@Dadude572 I mean, we all know eddy, he plays meme decks and rarran said it ať the start of the vid, that he wanted some meme-ish decks, while only sorta meme was the rogue and rest was meta slave
It's really funny to me how hearthstone RU-vid trimmed my brain to the point that I think about Eddy first when I see Valeera of any kind. Man really do be dippin his diapers for this lady
Played Tony Druid all the way to Legend using Rarran's list from the previous video (yes, I watched it all the way through and didn't just take the code :) ). Paladin, DK, and Shaman were all I saw in 80% of my games from rank 5 and up, any other class was actually free. That being said, any bad starts or omega nut draws my aggro opponents had wrecked. All in all, I love Tony Druid, I found myself saying "You got Jailed" at least a third of all my matches.
It sets up a situation where if they kill the full immune board they start taking fatigue since tony dies but if they don't they just have to take the minion damage.
Everyone’s talking about anub but warloc is just as bad IMO the amount of bullshit they cheat out and get ahead instantly isn’t fun. How do you outplay not killing a minion while you have minions jt can suicude too, or hellfire can clear your board, and kill it and summon an 8 cost card that gets an annoying death rattle, then they void caller and do it again. It’s so stupid. The concept is cool, but the minions need to me more balanced and not so snow bally
