Agree! I have bangs for almost 10 years (plays with different styles) and this is the type of bangs that looks good when styled but will be all over the place the next day. With her straight hair, it will definitely cover her eyes if you don't give it volume. She has small face and forehead, I think korean bangs or Audrey Hepburn(short) bangs will be the best choice for her. It is also both low maintenance for someone that is new to having bangs.

My mom is exactly the same as hers, I’m only “allowed” to get trims. I cut a few inches off my hair in August and the only reason I could do it was because I set up it without her knowing beforehand. Nobody in my family wants me to ever dye it, and my cousin dyed her hair a few times and everyone else talks badly about her doing it. My mom was actually there during the actual haircut process for me, but she didn’t let me get as short as I wanted it and the hairdresser was very young and I think intimidated by her. My mom said if I wanted it shorter I could do it in December and I brought it up last week and I was totally shut down :(

This! Not to mention in 2 weeks they’ll be unbearable. It looks like they are exactly the "shaggy dog look" she didn't want. lol I speak from experience, I love bangs, then grow out, then cut again. So many times I've left a hairdresser thinking, "I feel so good", 3 hours later I'm trimming them shorter myself because I'm losing my mind. I've become an expert bang cutter though. 🥴

Yes I did the same with my hair. Donated almost 30 centimetres of it n I’ve never been so proud of it. My sister did the same n together. I’ve kept my hair short ever since that. I love my short hair it makes me feel happy. It’s like the wait to grow my hair out just to donate it was worth it.

I used to have dark black long hair past my shoulders. I wasn’t too sure on doing it at first because it was my first time risking to cut all of it off. As soon as all my long hair was done, I was surprised and shocked. I loved how my short hair came out when I got it done for the very first time. Ever since I was in middle school to now as a junior in high school, I always cut my hair very short and dyed it fancy colors. I really enjoy having short hair a lot and it suits me. I might grow it long again maybe in the future.

I should be studying and yes, I cut about over a foot of hair when I was 17 and it was so interesting and I've been growing it out and keep cutting it because of layers that I've gotten. So I keep getting it cut to my collar bones and yea.

My family brainwashed me into thinking that only long hair is beautiful. I sometimes want to have short hair, but now I don't have the guts to cut it. I keep thinking, "what if I don't get to be able to grow that long hair back?"

That is unlikely to happen but even if it does, who cares? Im not asking the question to be a dick. I mean that to genuinely ask yourself question-Are you only beautiful with long hair? I don't know you but I know the answer is no! You have your whole life to grow it back instead of spending your whole life wondering what it would look and feel like to do something different vs being scared of the result. You might love it shorter. And even if you don't, it will grow back!

Talk about that, me being an indian girl ... I have very thick hair and my hair grows really really fast so I have always had loooong hair since I was 5-6 years old... It's like my longer than waistline hair was a part of my identity growing up... My mom was not adamantly against me cutting my hair but she'd be like why not just keep it long, people wish to have hair like this. So I never felt comfortable cutting it, I'd get layers for some texture but always keep the length. In the Dec of 2019 I decided to go for the big chop, a long bob style hair with layers. And one day I sat down and cut my hair myself from waist to shorter than shoulder length in one go 😂. Cut my hair to way I wanted all by myself (I learned to cut my hair in middle school because I was never satisfied with the cut I got in salon it was never just exact to what I wanted) and mom came home and was shook for a while but eventually said I look amazing and look a lot younger like I'm highschool (I was 20) 😂 So all that long talk, but I mean it's just hair it grows back so go for the cut you want. (my hair grew back in a year and half to how it was)

i did the exact same thing, it was a huge mistake, i miss my long hair so much and i regret the bangs more than anything lmao, but she looks GORGEOUS like this, i think it really suits her....

Awww I did this two years ago and it was such a freeing experience. I had a new style and just took care of myself more afterwards. It’s amazing how much hair effects us haha

My mother wouldn't let me have bangs when i was 9 years old and I wanted them so badly that I cut them myself. Took a lot of flack for it, but loved them, so it was totally worth it. You look great:-)
