“It doesn’t matter how it got that way, we just need to fix it” wow! I will use that for my kids, for my life, not just cleaning. Thank you. I haven’t even finished watching the video and I needed to say this
You make me think of how I wish everyone in the world had a mom/wife/sister/aunt, just like you! Thanks for being who you are. You deserve the best ! You are loved too, girl!🌸🐰🐥🎀
A tip for the laminate tiles. Put 3 pennies on the back ones against the wall. One on each corner and one in the middle. That way if there is a leak it will drip to the front and not rot the back wall.
@@xwarpedkarmax the square tiles that are against the back wall. You are wanting just to raise that back edge a little so if the water drips it rolls to the front of the cabinet. So the square tile, take off the paper to expose the sticky side. Put 3 pennies on the sticky edge of the tile that will be against the back wall. It raises the tile a tiny bit. Then caulk like she said.
Here’s my tip. I bought rubber thing that lies on top of the gap between my stove and counter. I got it at Walmart in the kitchen section. Nothing falls down there. Plus, you can cut it down to size and easy to clean. Also I bought a a rubber mat for under sink. I had a leak, no water damage and it was easy to take out to clean then put back.
@@a2isha They are heat resistant *silicone*. I've been using them for years for the gap next to my glass top range which gets hot all over. They work well and come in black or semi-clear from what I've seen on amazon.
Life is not always perfect, but it’s always what you make it. So make it count, make it memorable, and never let anyone steal your happiness. Hope you have a Beautiful and Blessed day and week. See you next video. Stay safe. God Bless.
I was shocked! I've had floor tiles under my kitchen sink for years. Yay...I'm doing something right!!! I am about to change mine to a more updated print. These work so good. Oh my you are in my head today. My mom cleaned her cabinets with Murphys and it smells so good. Annnnnnnd it is great for cleaning paint brushes too. Leaves the bristles soft and like new. Thanks for all of the confirmation. Have a blessed day.
Thank you for adding the caulking to the under the sink project!!! So many “how to” videos I see are mostly just for the aesthetic of the house and not for protection/function! We rent and I did this under my sink because we had water issues. Our cabinets are dark brown so it always felt like this dark stinky cave when I opened it so I got some really good Kilts primer and just painted it white inside the sink cabinet. Now I can see and know if someone is dirty or leaking!!! 😁
Since you shared the wonder that is Dawn Power Wash, I just wanted to let you know it works even better than the oxy clean on the hood vent covers...I take my covers off, spray each side with the power wash & let it sit for about 10 mins. I'll use a brush if some of the grease goes into the mesh other wise I just rinse and let them dry in the dish rack & they look brand new everytime!
Can I just say thank you for showing the sides of your oven and Not cleaning them before hand, it makes me feel normal about what mine looks like. I have actually been after my husband for a week now about getting to the sides of our oven, we just got the garbage cans all clean from everywhere in the house. Tiling under the cabinets is genius! Although I have never heard of caulking vinyl tile, it might be a good idea.
Great advice! I also use dishwasher tabs in a container of hot water and put my stove vents into the solution to soak for a couple hours. Works wonderful as well!
I would have vacuumed under the stove edge instead of blowing back in with burners with the steamer. Oh my? My electric top tilts up to clean under the burners. Maybe these glass ones are too heavy? I have never cleaned one one of those.
That’s so funny. I’m a cleaning lady over 20 years and I hate the smell of it. Never use it 😆 But hey I always say to my clients to use what works for you. 😁
I can’t use the Murphy’s oil soap with the orange oil in the spray bottle . That makes me sick. I only use the original scent. I mix it in a spray bottle with water if I want to use it as a spray.
Big hugs of thanks Kathryn. 🤗. I checked out Amazon for those floor pops. I have been searching for years and never found quite the right tile for my bathroom. Thanks to you I found it. It's called Roman and it it blue and gray and absolutely perfect. You are also right about the crud under the stove. Thanks for tip.on cleaning the filter. Oh my goodness they get gross, don't they? Love ya girl! You are the best!!💯❣️
I use floor tiles to line all my kitchen and bathroom cabinets and drawers and under the sinks. It makes it so easy to clean up too. I don’t remove the paper backing because I don’t want to damage anything with the glue from the tiles, especially since I have new cabinets. This works much better than liners or contact paper and easy to remove if needed without any sticky residue.
We put tiles under our sink a few years ago. It looked so great that we also did laundry room and utility room shelves. Thanks for idea on cleaning cabinets with a mop...mind blown.
I like the tile under the sink idea! It doesn’t just look pretty- I especially like that you finished it off in a way that protects the cabinet. We all know the cabinetry is a lot more $ to replace than the cost of those tiles! You also had me cracking up when you were pouring out the liquid and it matched with the music. 😂
I believe that I have been cleaning the walls with a mop for 23 years, and using a base model swiffer mop is much easier and passes military housing move outs.
Kathryn your amazing 🤩 🙌 yup spring cleaning is at season. Your tips are awesome 😎 you rock. You just blew my mind on how you use the cedar O mop. Your the best. Your ideas, tips and tricks are magical.
Thank you for sharing cleaning tips that are super helpful for those of us who can no longer get on our knees or stand on a ladder to clean. I love the hack using a mop to clean kitchen cabinets as well as putting the trash can in the mop bucket for constant clean water. You’re always a joy to watch.
I had a greasy mess in my medicine drawer from caster oil and I used the LA Awesome cleaner worked like a dream.... I used it on the table underneath of our small barbecue and again worked perfectly I have several bottles in my home now!
@@DoItOnaDime The landlord replaced my 40 years' old stove/oven a few years ago. The dirt that had accumulated over the decades looked disgusting. I might have been the fifth tenant when I moved in, 25 years ago.
i have used floor microfiber mop with Method cleaner on cabinets and honestly even big wood furniture. Works great! Also use the dollar tree swifter with microfiber to clean the tub/shower and awesome cleaner🙂🤩 cleaning does not have to be hard.
I have used so many of your great ideas! Thank you for the inspiration. I actually have a bit of a hack for stinky trash cans. I got so sick of leaking bags or kids missing the bag and finding rotten apple cores or banana peels under the bag, that I started keeping a layer of Scoop Away kitty litter at the bottom of the can. It smells like fresh laundry and absorbs any nasty juices that can just be scooped out. Also, those food particles get mummified in it. Makes for a much easier clean up at the bottom of the can.
Thank you for always having a good Godly channel, I only subscribe to people who arent afraid to talk about God and don't use bad language and I thank you so much for having such an awesome Channel God Bless you and your family
I still love your channel, I have followed you for awhile and you give great tips and I love your cleaning videos. I'm always looking for cleaning products and I love your ideas your very creative.
🙌 I love this video!! It always makes me so happy to clean, maybe not while I’m doing it but after…YES!! I work at Amazon and we have been selling a lot of the tiles!
I can't find the blue and white mop head that fits the easy wring ocedar mop. The ones I'm finding fit the new ocedar dual compartment mop. Buying the new would defeat the purpose of this hack.
I’ve got the steamer thanks to you Katherine!!🤗🥰😃Love these tips they are very motivating which is my problem!lol. LOVE that you tell us about “good” products from the Dollar Tree that really work!! LOVE the Murphy soap too! I love to use what some ppl call “Shamies”. They are orange & sometimes yellow I guess! They really-really soak up water & moisture really fast!! A dear friend of mine that I met in Miami when I first moved there showed me how to tie a “Shamie” around a stick or around a broom if your mop happens to break & a duster for high & low places & a mop is born!!😂😂😂 The “shamie” not spelled correctly, picks up dirt & tiny debris plus cleans or dries surfaces so very well! A towel can be used the same way! Thank you Katherine! Now that I’ve moved back to NC & I’m only an hr & 1/2 from Matthews, where are the good Dollar Tree Stores that you find all the nice stuff?? I now live in a very small town & even tho we have “2” Dollar Tree Stores”, they have nothing you show except the “LA Cleaner” , mops, brooms, & few other things. No containers that I’d like nor what you show here on your channel!♥️
I’ve been watching you forever. I don’t usually think to leave a message but always give thumbs up. Just wanted to say that I just love your videos and your just so sweet and positive. I also love how real you are. Your home is gorgeous of course but the way you share your little mess behind your oven just makes me love you even more! Your home always looks spotless but the way you show that without cleaning it before hand like I’ve seen on other channels is just awesome. Thank you for always sharing your ideas and great hacks!
Two questions: 1. how do you decide when to use the steam cleaner and when to use a cleaning product? 2. Have you ever thought about going paperless? I’d love to see a video about that.
All great ideas, but I gotta say, I really like the tile under the cabinets. That is the one I want to try first. Clean and it brightens up that space. Thanks so much for sharing these ideas.
Hi Kathryn always love your videos. To keep food or crumbs from falling between your stove and counter top you can use an item called Kitchen Stove Counter Gap Covers. I use clear silicone ones.
Love love love the tiles under the sink!!! My stuff always rolls up when I move the containers. Thanks! ♥️ Great idea for vent filters. I’m scared to take mine out. 😂
I picked up some great ideas from this. Thnx! I have the little brush and love it! Going to break down and get the steam shot. I wonder could I line my drawers with the tile? ❤
I love the floor tiles in the cabinets. I think I have some of those tiles in the closet. I could refresh my cabinets and clear up space in the closet. YAY!!
Another great tip is to put a small kitty litter box or something similar under the kitchen sink. I put cleaning supplies in it so I can pull it out. Trust me, I’m a property manager, just having the vinyl under it isn’t enough. If your garbage disposal starts leaking you may not realize it immediately and it fills up very quickly. This has happened to me and it worked great
Awesome video Kathryn!! That floor tile hack is phenomenal!! Going to try it for sure!! Also, knockoff Oxy in your steam cleaner!! Yes 💃💃💃 brilliant!! 💖☺️🌸
This is one of my FAVORITE videos thus far, however I love ALL your videos, LOL. The floor pops is a brilliant idea and using the caulk with it, BRILLIANT! I can't wait to use this under my kitchen sink as well as under my bathroom sinks. I have used Murphy's Oil Soap for years, and it is amazing. Your idea about using the mop such a great idea too, can't wait to try it.
Thank you for showing the REAL side of cleaning and living! It is refreshing to know that you are not alone when you look at your home and think how is this possible?!?! Very uplifting!
Such wonderful tips, Kathryn! Thank you! I do have tiles under my kitchen sink also. They’re the best, but I never thought of caulking them. What a great idea! Will have to do that now. That mop looks amazing for cleaning the cabinets. Will have to pick up one. 💕
I keep containers under the sink pipes in the kitchen and bathrooms in case of leaks. I LOVE Murphy oil soap. I love the smell of it, and it cleans amazingly well. When I was selling my last home, I washed the kitchen cabinets with it and they looked brand new, as if I had refinished them. It's wonderful on all kinds of surfaces. Crumbs in the silver ware drawer.... how DO those get in there???
@momof2 you may want to add the tile anyway to save the floor of the cabinets in case there are leaks. Having containers is a good idea but, they can also hide leaks for a long time causing damage to the floor of the cabinet.
OMG, Katherine! I never thought of using my spin mop for cleaning my cabinets! What a great idea! I love the peel and stick tiles for under the sink cabinet in my bathroom. I just wish that I was able to do that. I can't bend down that far or get up from the floor....lol...old age has caught up with me.
I have been adding peel and stick tiles to my cabinets for decades. Works so well - very easy to clean and so durable. Once and done! I also love your idea of pulling the range out to clean but not so easy when you have a gas stove. Thanks for all your wonderful videos.
sure it is, you slide it out a little from slide to slide (like a shimmy...lol) then look to see long the flex line (gas line) is, I just push it to the side closest to the gas line so as to not pull the line although those lines are pretty sturdy... if you ever smell gas, just turn the gas valve off, its just like the water valves...
My sister is the first person I saw who used floor tiles in her kitchen cabinets, decades ago. Such a good idea. They are durable, easy to clean and come in a wide variety of patterns.
Okay subscribed just for the comment “it actually doesn’t matter how it got that way the reason we are here is to fix it together”! That was so comforting to me. Thank you!
If I was your son...only thing I'd be doing is being at home doing what you tell me to do with no back talk or arguing. I'd do all of the cleaning so you don't have to worry with it! I'd help out in all other areas. My only happiness would be to obey you and make you happy!
Yes I LOVE being this early. Thank you so much for your content and making organizing incredibly easy and stress free 😊 Also, do you have any updated videos on medicine organizing for smaller spaces? Have an awesome day 😎
Just wanted to say thank you for sending out that big hug at the beginning of this video. I needed one so badly and I opened RU-vid and there you were sending one out. Love these videos and how personable they are. Sending a hug right back to you!❤️
Yes the spin mops are amazing! I've cleaned walls up in no time with it. If you have children it's a must-have. I think Walmart now has a great value brand of the spin-to-dry mop, but I'm not sure if it compares to the O Cedar mop's swivel. It's just right for vertical cleaning.
Love the tiles under the sink I will have a go at doing this . Also the steamshot is great I have something similar and forgot about it since we moved so I am going to sort it out and use it. Thanks for sharing this information with me 🙂 xx love following you as you have some very practical ideas and always so cheap
Thank you for being as happy about a clean house as I am. I live with 3 other adults who NEVER clean!!!!!! Needless to say, I clean the entire house, minus their rooms. I clean the toilet like 4 x a day or every time I use it. Nasty business. I clean the shower every other day right before I use it and then clean it out after I am done. I take out the trash every day, I do all the dishes, I am sure your are getting the picture. It's sad that I have to do it all, but these people are the grossest room mates I have ever had. One is an R. N. who is educated in pathogens and antigens (germs) and she lets her laundry sit in the washer so long that it mildews and then she wears it even though it stinks. She smokes and leaves cigarette butts all over the yard. She drinks a lot. So there are always empty, sticky red wine glasses everywhere, every day. She also spills the red wine everywhere. Recently the filth has escalated to the point that I feel I am going to have to move out. They have two cats in the house. I always feed, water and clean the cat box as they simply won't do it. One of the cats has tapeworms. I told the roomies about it a month ago. These people have done nothing about it. The cats are dragging their butts on the new carpet. The entire house smells like poop. I can't take it anymore. I told them about it and how our shoes are dragging poop around the house as we walk. The other night, one of the ladies dropped her dinner meat on the floor and ate it anyways!!!! That is when I realized that no matter how hard I work to clean this house, it is never going to be sanitary. These people are happy to let me do all the cleaning and after two hours just in the kitchen, they come in and make a huge mess as if I never even did anything. Please tell me I am not "O. C.D." about cleaning. These things I mentioned are unacceptable. The roomies say I am OCD and crazy because I am organized and clean. HELP
Fun fact, we used these tiles as backsplash in the kitchen. We want to remodel one day, but that’s expensive. This gave us temporary but gorgeous look. Totally worth it!
It gave it a wonderful pop of color. Next project is to use these as a statement wall in laundry room. They are so versatile, they even go on well on existing tile to give a nice affordable make over.
If I was your son...only thing I'd be doing is being at home doing what you tell me to do with no back talk or arguing. I'd do all of the cleaning so you don't have to worry with it! I'd help out in all other areas. My only happiness would be to obey you and make you happy!
I feel like a jerk saying this, cuz I'M just such a "grammar nazi" - but here goes... Every time you say "underneath of" - THAT is incorrect. I'm sorry to correct you, but it's worth knowing. It's just "underneath," the "of" is not needed, and its actually incorrect. It's hard for me to listen to you say "underneath of" over and over and over, LOL... But, I totally understand & I hope you can learn from it! I LOVE your videos anyway! So, THANK YOU for making them!
Thank you for sharing. I am shocked because I truly thought you were practically perfect in every way ^_^ (just like Mary Poppins! LOL) I love that you are willing to show things like this and share your life with us. And, always with great tips and most importantly, calm, friendly encouragement! What a dear inspiration you are!! ♥ One of my top 5 FAVORITE youtubers !! Grateful for you for real!! ^_^
