I've found that a 30 cal brush with a patch soaked in carbon and left on the carbon ring for 15-20 minutes will usually do the trick, especially if you keep up with it and don't let it get out of hand. In my opinion, it's easier than the drill method. But this certainly works.
I have listened to hours of interviews with world champions, record holders, hall of fame shooters. I have listened to the owners of Kreiger, Bartlein, and Brux barrels, and they all recommend not doing this. They all claimed eventually they saw problems. Kreiger and Bartlein have pieces of customer barrels they keep for examples of what can happen
Look up Hall of Fame BR shooter Lou Murdica using a drill. He does a quick video for amp annealers and a more in-depth on believe the target channel. He sent back his barrels to the barrel manufacturers after cleaning this way and they all said no damage. He tested all of Bergers bullets before Litz and has his own indoor testing tunnel. Only thing I would change is to soak the barrel and ring and then stick with eliminator nylon brushes, Lou addresses why in his videos. Just for your info not to change your mind. More info is always good info.
I use that bore tech action cleaning rod with a brush and their carbon cleaner with nylon brushes. let the carbon cleaner sit in there for a bit, works like a charm for me. They make the best cleaning stuff
You should try Iosso paste. Very efficient, faster than the bronze brush. Even with a bronze brush there's always some hard carbon left. Sometimes i use Iosso + bronze brush when I wanna remove everything (every 100-150 shots). With a SAAMI chamber you may never have issues with carbon ring because of the large tolerances.
Well… I’m gonna need to use this method to knock out the carbon in my dasher. I sorta neglected it for like 450ish rounds and it shows with pressure signs
I soak a bore mop in BoreTech C4, push that onto the ring and let it soak for 10 minutes or so turning every so often. Then use a Boretech nylon brush soaked in C4 and agitate. Finally patch out till clean. I wouldn’t put a drill near my barrel, it’s safer than an angle grinder but not much!
Iosso brush slightly over bore for the neck . JB bore paste or iosso paste and a drill. Carbon ring gone in less than a minute! I’ve found the iosso nylon brushed last longer than bronze and work just as well, if you use JB or Iosso!
How so? The brush is softer than the barrel steel. The rod is also (aluminum). I think running the barrel hot is more detrimental than scrubbing it with brass.
Metodo usato su canna liscia per eliminare il piombo quando vengono sparate cartucce senza borra contenitore. Sulla canna rigata è una idiozia! E utilizza anche uno scovolo in metallo! 🥴😱
