Pro tip: If you enjoy content, do the creator a favor and subscribe. it literally doesn't affect you but those numbers can make or break content creators careers and presence in the algorithm. Its insane how many people religiously watch youtube channels getting FREE content and can't even be bothered to help the person out with a like or sub.

When you watch a video and dont sub or arent subbed you widen the gap in the view-to-sub ratio. RU-vids algorithm heavily favors videos with high sub-to-view rates, hence by not subbing to content you enjoy, you ARE actively harming the creators metrics. Sure 1 sub may not seem like much but, again i was talking about the people that "think like her" and there are a lot of them. have you noticed how many youtubers are clamoring on about how '80-90% of my viewers arent subscribed'. Have you noticed that the channels that get the most promotion and have the highest view counts are channels where they are constantly asking their child viewers to "smash that subscribe button" The kid channels get away with it because a kid will hit subscribe without thinking, but channels that draw in more adult audiences tend not to do so well because the metrics bury their channels. Id rather defend this person out here grinding every day. to each their own though.
