@@obeyrxfts8106 he has said it many times that it was 4c watch his older vids and it shows the natural 4c state without the curl cream and it shows the difference.
@@r.adoresk9438 that shrinkage do too much sometimes. When you wanna grow it and it look the same length 3 yrs later unless its pulled to show the true length then shrivel back to 3 centimeters in 5 secs..everybody dont like that
WATER is the key to healthy 4c hair. Think the garden effect. Oils, creams, & butters are the nourishment. Detangle w/fingers and a "Denman" brush. Treat ur hair precious.❤
@@shawnlewis9844 its only meant for styling loser curls, not detangling. You lose more hair! But id you arent thats good. I love the wet brush and stick to it!
I pray for the day, people learn to be proud of having 4c hair ❤ and ignore those people that call it “nappy” . Because alot of black people still have in their heads that “looser curls” means you got “good hair” or is seen as more beautiful. ALL hair types are beautiful, included 4c🎉❤ dont let nobody else tell yall otherwise
I literally have hair that people would unfortunately call "bad hair"... However the funny thing is that people call my hair "good hair" because it's long and they can see the defined coils. 🤔 I have type 4 hair. If my hair was short and unmoisturized, these same people would say my hair was bad. Presentation, I guess.
As a natural hairstylist I see 3 different hair types in your head like most black people. This is where I live and hate the hair type system because almost no one is completely 100% one
Ok so I’m not the only one that has ALL type 4 in my head 😭 I knew the system was useless. Type 4 really just means afro textured. All my hair is cared for the same way.
Oh thats interesting but doesnt that just mean that some parts of his hair are not as defined and he needs to use more products? Sorry im not a hairstylist but im just curious on why people have more than 1 hair type how is that possible
My 4c hair curls so much when I detangle it but it hates staying that way when it drys. It prefers to be fluffy and free. In the beginning I thought I had type 4a because of the curls, but nope it’s just 4c hair in a silly goofy mood😂
@@esromyetbarek9389 I think it tend to stay that way when it is very moisturized. Mine loses it’s pattern when it is dry so I recommend a moisturizing styling routine. But also, gels, moisturizing ones to be specific.
Ever tried an elongating curly gel? Aunt jackies curl stretching gel is wonderful 🥹, and i would probably say lightly dry your roots with a blow dryer on cool setting💖 😊
Looks more like a bigger 4b curl than 4c(I have mostly 4c and my coils can be barely differentiated from each other unless you look closely lol, that's how tight it is), but beautiful 💖
@@Miss_StellaP but then looking back at it again, he actually might be 4c, just a bigger diameter. Because yeah, the way his hair looks dry is different.
U out ur hair in 6 or 8 sections in get some curla la detangler in jel twist each section in to like 6 gel twist or u can use conditioner in comb it out well & start from the roots
That looks like my brother’s hair. I thought he had 4b😮 Moisture makes a difference, there’s nothing wrong with moisturizing your hair. Plants 🌱 grow with water. Moisturize your hair 💧 that doesn’t mean you don’t accept the way you were born, you’re just taking care of it.
No. No matter whether type 3 or type 4 hair, the curl shape isn't a determinant. Anyone can have 'i' 's' 'c' curls regardless of hair type. The way I see it, the whole system is just a curl tightness rank, not a curl shape. Green beauty has a video on it and is very informative.
Bro that is literally a strand of 4b hair. 4c hair is a really tight coil, there’s absolutely no form of manipulation or gel that will make it into a Z like you have there, other than a chemical treatment like a texturizer. I’m tired of people posting stuff saying they have 4c hair when they clearly don’t.
im pretty sure that this is 4c. Its just defined lol. Ask any person with 4c hair to apply even just a little bit of eco gel and their hair will look like this
I have 4c hair, and first, yes, it can do this, you underestimate 4c hair versatility. Second, these hair categories are clunky af. Third, everyone is different, has different genes & geneaology, even if we stick to the classification, there are different types of 4c hair, 4b hair, etc and people's hair more often than not encompass multiple types.
4c hair doesn't curl it coils, and it's the most difficult to get to curl. What probably happened is this guy used some sort of hair product intending to moisturize his hair and it curled.
@@kimnoir coil is "a length of something wound or arranged in a spiral or sequence of rings." A curl is "to twist or form something into a round shape." As far as I'm aware that is.
@@kimnoir true but when referring to hair curls refer to looser coils, they're both coils but curls are what you call looser coils, or coils are what you call tighter curls.
Dear 4Cs, You don't need defined curls. The non-curl defined kinky-floof drip is insane. Love, The Natural Hair Community NOT on Tik Tok which strangely pressures you to think your hair texture is bad because they gatekeep afro hair, as if 4C hair isnt the actual true, ICONIC type of ALL afro hair, drowned out by category 3's because of colorism.
I am legit 4c and all I see is 4a and 4b people claiming 4c to get attention. My hair is way tighter and way coarser than his, and I had licensed experts tell me I am legit 4c like grace Jones hair.
@@ladybird491 YES! I thought I was crazy but I noticed a lot of that too. People kill me havin talked so much bad or treated bad the same stuff they try to hype now. I always wanted 4C hair because the texture holds itself so well. Its truly very unique and lovely - absolutely nothing like 4C hair.
@@xXJade_AssassinXxPREACH! Now our hair is tending now random people claiming they got 4c thinking just having thick hair make it 4c. I still see the shade looks even though my hair is well kept and kept well trimmed and neat.
I was literally 18 the first I saw my hair curl like this because I was so use to wearing weave and wigs and perms I never bought curl activating products 😢. Now I'm almost 2 years loc'd! Our hair is so versatile!!!❤❤❤
If it's a fro most of the time then it's not gonna do this his does it probably because he constantly has it in styles back when my 4c hair was in a fro I trained to be straight and it hardly curled until I twisted it.
@@UrAverage_fingerNailclippin I've seen extremely moisturized/healthy black hair that was still coily/4c-like and not 3c/curly-like but they just want us mixed people curly hair so bad
I don’t understand when people make this comment. Do you not understand the science of type 4 hair?? Type 4 hair is naturally coily, but since the natural oils in the scalp of a human aren’t able to penetrate the twists and turns of coily hair, it leaves the hair looking dry and frizzy(nappy). This is what gives it the “Afro” look. The Afro look is not showing your natural hair, that is showing the fact that your hair is dry and dehydrated. It is very brittle and prone to breakage in this state. Oils like coconut, Argan, avocado, grapeseed, and butters like Shea butter, give type 4 hair the moisture that it needs, allowing the true coil pattern to show. Have you ever wondered why your hair both feels AND looks better when it’s moisturized??? Because that’s how it’s SUPPOSE to look. It’s not suppose to look nappy. Coily hair takes work. if you don’t want to put in the work to take care of it, then cut it short or wear it like an Afro. But don’t be JEALOUS of the ones who look better than you because they choose to give their hair the moisture that it NEEDS. And don’t deny the fact that they do in fact look better.
If you struggle to achieve a defined wash n go, try the dry n go method. If your hair is healthy and moisturized enough, you'll get defined coils on dry hair with gels or curling creams.
Coming from someone with 3c hair, I will forever and always long for the 4c blueprint😭😭 yall really got that godly hair, I love it so much 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I pray my children are blessed with it!!!
Wtf was this comment? So 4c can't look nice and healthy? Newsflash, curly doesn't automatically equal nice and healthy. These comments on here are so embarrassing.
The hair type chart is stupid…focus more on porosity and the overall health of your hair. If you understand porosity levels then it’ll be easier to find which products works best for you. Moisture, deep conditioning (with heat) and hair trimming is key as well. You might also need a balance of moisture and protein but be careful because some textures don’t do well with too much protein so use accordingly. Another underrated gem, micro fiber towels! When I started using microfiber towels and letting my hair stay wrapped 15-20 mins, this was a game changer for my hair. My products apply so much better on damp hair! Some products literally tell you to apply to damp hair but I never listened in the past. The micro fiber towel absorbs most of the water from shampooing and then I just go in with my deep conditioning or leave in and my hair shafts absorb the products. Before, it would just sit on top of my hair when I would apply products to soaking wet hair…and finally, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on hair care products. I used to buy expensive brands and they were horrible on my hair! My hair would turn out hard and unmanageable and I would hate wash days! I went back to using my regular old crème of nature products and my hair went back to being soft and manageable. A lot of times social media overhypes expensive products and they suck for your hair! I also use hair grease! My hair doesn’t like oils! Been greasing my scalp all my life, never been an issue! Just focus on hair health and figure out what works best for you! Black hair comes in different textures and curl patterns…and this is isn’t so called 4C hair btw either, that’s why that chart is B.S…
@@Mariahmariahmariah3you just have to find the right products and product combination that works for your hair. Maybe some products will just sit on your hair and do nothing, while some other products will work better with your hair porosity
@@paperplate4675 if i understand well your comment, to you, he dry look is 4c but when it's mosturized it's not?? that makes no sense at all.. come on, 4c hair isn't dry but it isn't either like this when defined..
@@miatheitgirl well, as someone with 4c hair and a cousin who was 4b, he definitely has 4b. In his other videos, the curls stays while when you defines 4c curls, they don't hold more than 5-15 minutes..
@@SunxyOrMoonxila thats you and your cousin, if we talking about other people hair types and their moisturize-red states then what I said is true, i have 4c hair myself and it looks like this when its defined.
@@Lolasingsss why wouldn’t it be 4c? look at the hair while it’s dry. its just healthy well managed 4c hair that was defined with some conditioner lmao
Looser patterns get moisture in their hair better since they aren’t so tight. Tighter curls are more prone for breakage and dryness. So looser are always curly cause it’s easier to moisturize so it stays moisturizing.
