This is my favorite Hitchcock film with a stellar performance by Montgomery Clift as Father Logan.

Every moment is gripping and perfectly filmed. When I was a kid, every priest dressed exactly like the ones in this film! See this movie.

Karl Malden would play the same kind of role 20 years later on TV, the Streets of San Francisco.

I use to live in Quebec City. Several scenes were filmed at The Chateau Laurier Hotel, a landmark of Quebec City. Hitchcock stayed at this hotel during the filming of this film.

TO ALL THE LADIES: Forgive me heavenly father for I have sinned upon this priest (actor, Montgomery Cliff), he's outrageously handsome & I can't compose myself when I see him & be around. With a priest that terrifically hot, I must make it my most religious duty to go to him during mass & only confess to him on how I felt about him or not. Truly, I CONFESS. 😆😉😍😳🤩🙄🎬🎭📽😄🙏🏾👍🏾

Would you consider yourself to be a good person? Well then tell me: How many lies have you told, and what do you call someone who lies? Have you ever stolen something (even when you were small. Even from your parents. Even a sweet), and what do you call someone who steals? Have you ever taken God’s name in vain (very serious; in Old Testament times, the Jews wouldn’t even say the name of God for fear of blasphemy) - even ‘OMG’? Jesus said whoever looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery in his heart; have you ever looked with lust? One more: Ever disrespected your parents? Well I’m not judging you - but if you’ve done these things then you’re a liar, thief, blasphemer, adulterer-at-heart and rebel, so you're not good enough to go to heaven; that’s how seriously God takes sin. God is holy (perfectly good/righteous and separate from sin) which means that He is perfect in justice; that means that just like a just judge does sentence criminals to pay for the wrong they caused, God sentences the punishment of all sins. No good deeds you've done have removed your sins and you've done many. If a criminal is found guilty and says to the judge that they've changed since then, repented and done many good deeds is the judge going to let them go? No - because that doesn't erase their crimes. And if God were to judge you by the moral law would you be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? Because of your sins, the answer is hell - the wrath of God upon you for your sin. And that's why Jesus - the Son of God and the only one who lived a perfect life - came. Because on that cross as Jesus died, He took on the sin of the world and was judged in your place; receiving God’s wrath for sins so that you wouldn't have to. You and I broke God’s law, but Jesus paid the fine. God can justly forgive us. On that cross He died, then He was buried, but 3 days later He was raised from the dead - conquering death and Hell and ushering in The Kingdom of God. Now He's in heaven and one day will judge the world in righteousness. What you need to do is repent (In humility, acknowledge your sin before God and turn to Him) and trust alone in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross. Believe in Jesus - who's God incarnate. God has given no other name but the name of Jesus by which men must be saved

What made Otto Keller so homicidal in general, had he been a war criminal or something before he immigrated to the USA, I mean even then how many people owned a Lugger like that and so on?

The inspector was to quick to suspect the priest. A priest is the last person. I think that was the fault in the story..
