If a criminal is found guilty and says to the judge that they've changed since then, repented and done many good deeds is the judge going to let them go? No - because that doesn't erase their crimes. And if God were to judge you by the moral law would you be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? Because of your sins, the answer is hell - the wrath of God upon you for your sin. And that's why Jesus - the Son of God and the only one who lived a perfect life - came. Because on that cross as Jesus died, He took on the sin of the world and was judged in your place; receiving God’s wrath for sins so that you wouldn't have to. You and I broke God’s law, but Jesus paid the fine. God can justly forgive us. On that cross He died, then He was buried, but 3 days later He was raised from the dead - conquering death and Hell and ushering in The Kingdom of God. Now He's in heaven and one day will judge the world in righteousness. What you need to do is repent (In humility, acknowledge your sin before God and turn to Him) and trust alone in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross. Believe in Jesus - who's God incarnate. God has given no other name but the name of Jesus by which men must be saved
