A very nasty incident with a bus. Having talked to the locals afterwards they all said, without fail, that they are crazy and should be avoided at all costs!!
Ice 2 Fire is the first leg of our Round the World trip - Prudhoe Bay to Ushuaia.
We have sold everything (and I mean everything) and packed our panniers. Our bikes, two Yamaha T7s, were flown out to Anchorage along with ourselves.
It's been a rocky road of many ups and downs to reach this point. We have dealt with breast cancer and broken ankles amongst other things, and for the last five years we have been Chasing the Dream. The dream is now happening and we can't quite believe that we're on this journey. It's very surreal.

Carl and Issy, We have been following you on your adventure since we met you in our RV at Diamond Lake in Oregon. With all your wonderful experiences it is definitely frightening when things don’t go well. Take the time you need to recover and move forward, continuing to be as safe as possible. You are both very strong to endure a degree of discomfort so you can experience many beautiful places. Thank you for honestly sharing the joy and hurdles that are involved with your journey. Ah, how wonderful to hear from you. Yes, we have covered a lot of miles since our wonderful evening with you at Diamond Lake. These 'mishaps' will happen on a journey like this we guess, and must be chalked up to experience. We try to keep as safe as possible but you can't foresee every challenge. It's a totally different world out there to the one we're used to. Accidents happen and no-one really cares! There's certainly not the fuss given to them that we have in the UK. You just have to try and stay alive!

I've not ridden South America ,but I've had really close calls in Africa, so I know the feeling, certain small bus drivers ,are lucky I didn't have a gun at that moment. It takes a long time to get over such an event . He's hoping thing soon improve .

Buses still get a wide berth and I must admit I do still get in a panic near them sometimes.
