Guatemala is stealing our hearts. Such a beautiful country.
Ice 2 Fire is the first leg of our Round the World trip - Prudhoe Bay to Ushuaia.
We have sold everything (and I mean everything) and packed our panniers. Our bikes, two Yamaha T7s, were flown out to Anchorage along with ourselves.
It's been a rocky road of many ups and downs to reach this point. We have dealt with breast cancer and broken ankles amongst other things, and for the last five years we have been Chasing the Dream. The dream is now happening and we can't quite believe that we're on this journey. It's very surreal.

I crashed my Vstrom a whooping nine times over the past weekend riding an old settler trail over Naches Pass in Washington state last weekend! So, don't feel too bad. Beautiful country you're in. Rocky with the jungle forests and all. Safe travels!

Regarding getting parcels delivered, back in the late 80's/early 90's, Post Restante (rhymes with 'al dente') was a thing in the UK, USA/Canada, Oz/NZ, and a few places in the Far East, I don't know if it still is or if it ever was in South America/eleswhere. The way it worked was that you would get post addressed to you at a (usually fairly main) post office, C/O The Post Office, The Street, The Town, Postcode. You would need to show your passport to collect, and if you don't turn up for .... I'm going to say a month after an item arrived (it was a long time ago and the memory fades!) they dispose of it. It may be worth investigating. Alternatively, if you know you'll be in a given city in a month or two, contact a hotel/B&B and tell them you want to stay with them for two or three nights or more, but only if they'll let you use their address for post until then. If they say yes, you book it there and then and have a fixed address to give to family, friends, eBay, and Amazon for the duration. You also know you have a break on the way, and you know how welcome that is! Finally, there's friends of friends on the way. Or followers. I'm not much good to you in this respect as I'm in Sittingbourne! Hope this helps, keep going, and keep 'em coming! 🙂

We cannot plan a month ahead. Things happen and we spend longer somewhere than first anticipated, so we haven't gone down that route for that reason. A lot of companies don't post to certain countries as well so that needs to be taken into account. Post is a minefield and there's more on that further down the road. 😊
