so how much do you think the building costs, rent or mortgage? how much do employees cost? how much is the insurance? the electrical/gas bills? the other many expenses of maintaining a store for "free"?

@@janetannerevans2320 Ma'am not being disrespectful to you, Goodwill gets thousands of items for FREE. Most of the employees make about the equivilent of $10 per hr. The high ups, meaning company echelons, makes $100K plus per yr. A store manager may make about $35K per year. Goodwill is 100% making a killer profit, off donated items and a very little 15% to max 25%, of profit, goes back into store, for pay and/or back to the community.

I have a 2A by me it’s my favorite thrift store! When the employees are packing out a cart they encourage us to look while they’re doing it so they don’t have to pack it out 🤣 that round antique mirror literally took my breath away!!!

I sold two duvet covers vintage Ralph Lauren. Blue and white with birds. Thrifted 50% off, so $4 each. Sold for $150. Very pretty!

Hi, Karen! Another great video…AND here is something I just learned about artwork. There is a definite market for paintings like the ones you found that were signed “June”. Visual Art that is created by a person who lacks the formal education and training that a professional artist undergoes, and has a childlike simplicity and frankness is called “Naive Art”. Naive art is now a fully recognized art genre, represented in art galleries worldwide. When this aesthetic is emulated by a trained artist, the result is sometimes called primitivism, pseudo-naive art, or faux naive art. It is not the same thing as folk art which derives from a distinct popular cultural context or tradition. One famous painter who employed this faux naive style is Henri Rousseau. His “The Repast of the Lion” (circa 1907) is an example of naive art. I thought this info could help you and your followers because it helped me identify 4 small oil paintings I acquired from an estate. I did some in-depth research beginning with Google lens and found that each 6” x 8” framed painting signed by artist JANIC is worth approximately $200! I was shocked! Cheers!❤

That Capodimonte shade is a keeper! The damage is on top and could be unnoticeable turned away or if the shade is part of a ceiling mount. Love that beveled mirror and THAT balloon chandelier But I thought you said "No more dolls!" HAHA!! Then there's Roger playing with the toys! XO

I like buying upscale department store brand clothing such as Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylor, Marshall Fields, etc...as well as their house brands. They're nice quality and rarely make it to discount store racks. If the items are in good condition, they can bring a lot of money.

I had that doll in the 60's when I was little. You should have taken the speakers too. I wish my husband would go with me to the Goodwill and find things to sell. That would be so much fun.🌵🌵 I would keep that mirror for myself.

Many places have a dry cleaner that dry cleans for free items being donated. I am near a city where stores donate new, returned items to the thrifts all the time. When a person passes the family will often donate entire households. Currently a thrift in my area has $1000 lamps for $200, absolutely gorgeous. Lots of artwork also. Thanks for sharing your outing.

I know exactly how you feel when you score when thrifting. I found and antique gold frame for $25 and was soo excited because I’ve been looking for something like that for years. So I said to my husboo, “can you believe it?!?” He’s like I guess 😮😂he didn’t get it but I was excited 😆

Nice find on the Wood painting. I've noticed you have a great eye for art pieces. There is very little where I live but I'm always looking. My best find so far was Robert Cox. His still lifes are very recognizable. Thanks for an interesting video.

I don’t find much at 2A in North Wales. I’ve only been to the Goodwill in Montgomeryville once so far. It was okay. I suggest going to Liberty Thrift store on 309 just up the road from there. Lots of great stuff!

when something is a cool as that campodimonte style lamp shade, I would get it anyway. People will buy a damaged piece when the damage is hard to see when one is viewing from a normal distance away. You would be suprised at the number of damaged items I sell for good profit.
