Honestly I think going for Simple is what messed Vinny up here. It's a very nice ability, but that S is really valuable elsewhere (for example, Strange Steam) Off the top of my head imagine he used the F for Fur Coat or Fluffy (one of them is better because it's not a fire weakness, Don't remember which)

For Arcanine I would have personnaly went Flying Gem, Flying Tera with Aerialate so that Extreme-Speed would have had a higher boost imo. It has such a fun set Vinny is really a refined man with refined tastes
The crab giving vinny so much trouble is hilarious but he gave it Aqua Jet then just ignored he had it and a 70 HP crab was NOT surviving a HUGE POWER hit from palafin
I think a potentially interesting extra constraint to this or maybe a future video could be which Tera type you could use: only those present in your current randomized starter line up, either double down on your pick's own types or pick one from the two not chosen.

4:43 Pretty sure No Retreat doesn't prevent ghost types from switching... because nothing does. You don't even need U-turn unless you want to use it after Terastalizing. 26:37 This is interesting that you said it. From what i am aware you cannot use No Retreat twice BUT its because this move cannot be used if you are trapped (someone did the testing back in gen 8 games). However like i have mentioned - ghost pokemon cannot be trapped so MAYBE you were cooking thinking to do it twice.
@UnitedGamer I haven't tested it, but Bulbapedia says a No Retreat user of the Ghost Type can still switch out. Not sure if that knowledge would have changed the layout 😅
@@Tacobell1384 aye. This makes zero difference to that specific Lunala. I'm just thinking that if I knew I could freely switch out of a No Retreat, I might be looking into other abilities instead of Libero. It's an interesting thought experiment
What a battle, normally i feel like the battles are the weakest part of the then we fights but that was a very fun battle (and a quick second) it was insane. A lot of fun to watch.

Fun fact about the move No Retreat If you are a ghost type using the move, you won't be trapped in since ghost type can't be trapped anymore since gen 7 (I think?), so you can switch out anytime you want. In Radical Red, since the move does apply the 'can't switch' status on you, you can literally setup with NR as many times as you want.
This was degenerate power level. It was fun. I'd love to watch one with this much back and forth, but I'd love to see odd or lesser used moves sometimes.
Bit of a rogue one but here's an idea. How about you choose your hidden pokemon based on their TCG type? Like how rock/ground/fighting have the same, ice and water have the same, psychic/ghost/poison etc. Could be a fun added layer of mystery

For an added level of challenge for a different rule set or this- what if you can’t repeat/ double up with your opponent. Meaning it would be an open play sheet but after you’ve built mons if you both repeat an attack or ability (Extreme Speed or Huge Power) then you both lose them and get a random move and random ability in its place. The goal is to try to come up with very unique sets OR sabotage your opponent by taking strong moves and abilities (potential for mind games because maybe you won’t take the strong ones in fear of your opponent doing it 😮)
Vintendo: "Man, my Calyrex SUCKS" Vinny! Its has the most busted special attack. Give it Contrary, Armour Cannon or Astral Barrage, Leaf Tornado OR libero, Revelation Dance and Electro Drift. Slap any item and it solos 😭😭
Would be cool to see this again adding tera types to it, that way pokemon with smaller names become even more limited and it allows for the higher letter names to being able to have a tera and trying to create new combos with the different abilities and moves Edit: ^^making the tera type restricted to a pokemon name as well!!
Calyrex- Contrary. Armor cannon, Leafstorm. With maybe , Rocky helmet, Roar of time, Roseli berry or Yache berry(tera drgn, grs, grd 4 stab), Yawn, Earth power or Even eject pack just in case ur ability is changed. I'd go rocky helmet, yache tera grd knowing he has a ice. With elctrc immunity, I wouldn't have to worry about paralysis as much, and it has coverage on its weaknesses
Your choices for available letters should be based on what's on screen. Not what the evolutions are. (Example. Vinny's Florges) Make it that one step up on difficulty
Lol. Vinny just looks up smogon movesets or strongest setup/damage moves and throws them on pokemon. Not even looking at what they do. You'd think being a poketuber, he would know something about pokemon.
If you're referring to the Shield entry of "This Pokémon has slumbered for many years. Some say it's Zamazenta's elder sister-others say the two Pokémon are rivals.", then it doesn't say that it is the case, just that some people believe it to be the case.
I mentioned this over on Shadys channel but I had an idea for a then we fight where you spin a wheel with every generation on it and whatever gen it lands on you can only use pokemon from that generation alone. With the exception of paradox forms. (Do feel free to change as you see fit)
You guys should do a Then We Fight where you all can only use middle evolutions (must be Stage 2 of 3). We have done all babies before, but no love for the middle evos
