*The lens of the X3000 was broken when creating the comparison video in 2022, but it was subsequently repaired at a Sony service center and is being used again this time.

What I felt about the GoPro HERO 12 Black:
What I thought was good:
- Comes with a tripod hole.
- Actually measured 2g lighter than HERO11.
- The charging lamp now turns off properly when charging is complete.
What I thought was bad:
- Some color profiles have been added, but other than that, image processing appears to be unchanged from HERO11. As usual, the noise at high ISO is terrible.
- Although it claims that the battery life has been extended, when shooting a comparison video, the battery consumption was exactly the same as HERO11. It seems that battery life will only increase with limited use.
Points to note:
- About new color profiles. ISO cannot be changed with HDR, and FLAT Color cannot be selected. With GP-Log, ISO can only be selected in the range 100-400. In the end, the sensor output is the same, only new image processing has been added, so don't expect too much from GP-Log.
For those considering a replacement:
- It has a few advantages over the HERO11, so I recommend replacing it and selling your old GoPro at an online auction before the price drops.
What I felt after creating the comparison video:
- My personal number one is Action 4. The balance of image quality is excellent. Battery life is also longer than GoPro. Easy to use UI.
- X3000 has the best color accuracy. However, the dynamic range is low, there is no LCD monitor, and the shooting functions are simple. I repaired it, but the resolution is poor compared to other cameras, so I'll want to use another camera when using 4K. In the first place, you can't get it new anymore.
- GoPro has added time-lapse shooting functions such as Star Trails, so it might be interesting to play with them. You can also take videos and photos at 8:7. But I rarely have the opportunity to use those features.

Nowadays, the X3000's image stabilization has become very weak compared to others🥺 However, since it uses optical image stabilization, it can compensate for image stabilization while preserving details in situations where the shutter speed is slow, such as in low light conditions🧐

Totally disagree , I think Sony and DJI were one and two in almost every test, and Sony was one in quite a few . For a camera that's almost ten years old .

GP12かAC4のどちらにするかで悩んでいるところで拝見しました。見やすくて素晴らしい比較ですね。うーん、でもマルチ画面で見ても甲乙つけがたく… 自分はGP10ユーザーで、画質的な感じは気にいってますが、リモートでの録画確認が出来ないので買い替えを検討してます。ＧＰ１２やＡＣ４では可能になったので。 RU-vidではAC４が優勢な感じがしており、バイクファンさんはAC4推しのようですね。日中の野外が使用用途のメインで、１カットでそんなに長回しはしない、画角の歪みが少ない自然な広角（超広角は求めない）、そんな条件下でもAC4がベターな選択でしょうか？良かったらご意見をお聞かせください。

ご視聴ありがとうございます！😊 sabaさんがGP10に感じている現状の不満点(リモート録画確認(どういうものなのか私ちょっと分かっていませんが))の解消だけで良いのであれば、正常進化のGP12で全く問題ないように思います。むしろ使い勝手そのままでスムーズに移行できるかと思います。しかし、画質は基本的に変わっていない、と思った方が良いかと思いますので、GP10→GP12の変化量には、過度に期待しない方が良いかもです🤔 sabaさんの使用用途のメインのシチュエーションで、AC4の優位性を感じるところとしては、ダイナミックレンジが若干広め、というあたりでしょうか。高輝度部分がGP12に比べて少し粘ってくれます。逆にGP12の優位性を感じるところとしては、レンズプロテクタ装着時のレンズフレアが少ない、5.3Kという高解像度、ファイルサイズが少し小さめで記録される(DJIはファイルサイズ大きめです)、でしょうか。

アドバイスありがとうございます！ダイナミックレンジが広めですか…。そういわれるとグラグラしますね…。GP12が画質的にたいした変化がないのであれば。そもそも5.3Kや8：7で撮るつもりもないので、だったら支持者がどんどん増えてる印象のAC4がいいのかなあという気にもなりました。GPよりよりコンパクトである、マグネットのギミック、熱停止に対しGPより強い、バッテリーの長時間録画、フリーズなどのエラーがないなど、総合的な優位性はAC4は高いなあと。ただ、画面中央に人物を置いたPOV撮影時、AC4はすこーし顔が細くなってるレンズの歪み？が気になるのと、ノーマルの色味がGP12のほうが好みだなあと。うーん、悩ましい。もうしばらく悩むと思います。ちなみにリモート録画確認ですが、スマホの「Quik」アプリ使ってリモートでRECすると、REC前は見れていたスマホ画面でのプレビューが、RECした途端表示出来なくなるという仕様変更がGP9だか10くらいからされてました。長い棒とかにゴープロつけて、ドローン風に撮る場合に重宝してた機能でしたので。余談ですが。今後も有益な動画作成を期待しています！ありがとうございました。

The OA4 falls apart with low megapixels. With GoPro labs, you can turn up the bit rate to 200 Mbps (useful for higher frame rates).

Ouch! the OA4 failed on the lens flare. All 3 of my GPH11B's do suffer from the GoPro streak (usually like when the sun is kind of off frame, at the top)... but other times not.

Thank you for the detailed information. GoPro Labs is a hassle and I have never used it yet...😥 The Action 4's lens flare is very distinctive... However, there are many other good points, so I feel that using Action 4 is the best for me at the moment🤔 GoPro has the least lens flare👍

My choice is Action 4.Prefer DJI colour scheme and perform bit better in low light conditions. X3000 performs very well although it is very old model.Shame that Sony doesn't compete in action cams market. Nice test! well done job!

X3000 has held up great considering it's 7 years old now. Would love to see this comparison with the X3000 replaced with the One RS 1" since it's much more current.

Exactly my thought, i own the gopro 12. Battery no issue for oa4 since its already the best. oa4 performance on lowlight making me consider to change system, tho its not that very usable. Might just stick with g12 and rely on phones for really low light footages.
