Life is a test. The test is We are all the main character we can only see through our own eyes. The test is can you make everyone else around you the main character even though you can’t see through their eyes
@@Mr.Betonyou There's an elderly lady that I started delivering to in 2018. For about 5 years she met me at the door give a sweet smile and say thank you dear, I really appreciate you. She had a vehicle in her driveway that never moved. Sometimes she needed groceries brought inside and then a few minutes to chat. She's a lovely lady that had a beautiful perfectly groomed flower garden covering her front yard.. Over a year ago as spring came I noticed her yard getting high and weeds growing in her flower garden. Suddenly no smiling face every morning. Curtains pulled shut and not a sound. Just "leave at the door". I worried about her. Eventually reaching out via text to tell her I missed seeing her and hope she was doing well. I got a response back from her daughter. She said her mother will continue to get her breakfast delivered for now but her health wasn't good. It was so sad to hear even though aging naturally happens I had seen and talked with this lady for years. I may have been one of the few people that did tbh. I haven't delivered to her in some time now but she left a lasting impression on me and I'm fortunate to have known her.
I delivered a doordash grocery order to an elderly lady in a assisted living facility. Her room was trashed and she obviously couldn’t put this food up alone! I use to be a CNA and I just did what I knew I needed to do! I asked her if she would like me to help tidy up and put her food away and she sent me down the hall to get her crushed ice. The order only paid $10 bucks and it took me over an hour to help her clean up. I lost money but I helped and that’s what I walked away with. ❤
I have more than a handful of customers that when I see their address come up I'm doing their order. Most of them are not making me a fortune in cash but it does fill my heart seeing these individuals when I do. They're a blessing in my day. It's a give-and-take world we live in and these individuals have given!! My father bless his heart is 86 years old and has given SO MUCH. I would hope every driver would experience and respect these individuals.
My market has the Largest active military base in the world, the VA hospital , and MANY retired, injured, in wheel chairs. I still wont take orders i cant make money on but when some of these people order im on it. They do tip, not well, but they really cant afford to, and cant get to the store themselves. I am proud to try to help just 1 of them daily if i can.
I do all the apps but find myself doing more rideshare lately. I find myself more in service as a human being now. Listening to others life stories, helping patients in & out of my car as medical facilities use us now, helping them get into their homes. I come across all walks of life and it's helped me grow as person. I take the days slower now, paying attention, and helping people along the way. We're all in this thing called life together.
To him it was the fan that will change everything finally arriving, thanks to you young man. And also however fleeting, a little company for a man that society has forgotten. Love that for him. These senior centers or disabled customers sometimes TOTALLY flip the script on my mood for the day. They really put things in the perspective. I love em.
We have to remind ourselves how lucky we are to have our health, our mobility, etc. Sometimes it takes an interaction like that to make us grateful for what we have. You're a good dude! Take care, Pedro! Jennifer in Dallas
Thanks for reminding me of the time I didn't know I was Instacart delivering to a guy in a wheelchair. It was five or six heavy trips 100 yards walking each way on gravel from parking spot to door, no stairs (at least 1000 yards walking). I was cussing the whole time thinking "this guy better be in a wheelchair", and each time I returned the previous load disappeared from the front door. I'm thinking it's going to cause problems when I take the picture. So, on the last trip I take my picture showing two of twelve bags (ten taken inside already by customer) and wait because I just have to see what this guy looks like. Wish I wouldn't, because now I know he was actually in a wheelchair, and I feel so ashamed. He said he'd add a tip later, which didn't happen. I think I ended up earning $12 on that 1.5 hour long 2 customer delivery. I still have trouble understanding how he gets in and out of there, because one way are steps, and the back way is gravel.
I do a lot of volunteer work to help low income people /families in need. There are many people struggling. Every time that we can help someone and extend grace and compassion in the process - that's a good day. Pedro is a good person and this is a great video. ❤
I was sitting between orders in Manhattan and saw a guy pushing a shopping cart full of cans. He stopped to pet a dog for a couple minutes with a huge smile on his face, waving at the owner, wishing them a wonderful day and then walked away saying "Bye! Bye!". For some reason that hit me. I waited a minute or two and thought I should find the guy and just give him $10. I searched a couple blocks and couldn't find him. Some of the nicest people I run into while out are those who don't have much money (I know because many of them are immigrant also doing food delivery, etc).
I have gotten a pick up three times now for meals on Wheels it's not a tremendous amount of money but the people you're taking the food to are so happy to see you it's an amazing feeling
That's crazy. I delivered to a man in an apartment with no legs on Friday. He had the biggest smile when he opened the door and as I walked away, I thought if that man can smile like that with no legs, what the hell am I complaining about. Some of these customers really put things into perspective. Don't be too hard on yourself.
I delivered to someone today, who yelled through the door, 'I'm handicapped, can you punch in the code?' This was her personal home. I walked in, she was sitting up in a hospital bed, her nightie up showing her adult diaper. My immediate thought was, 'My god, how many dashers does she let in?' I lost my dad last year and have done a bit of home health care. Dignity is huge. I cleared her table, put her food and medicines in front of her, and asked if she needed anything else. She actually asked if I was looking for work, said she really needed help, and she appreciated me being there. Some people have no one. I will always be available to these people, doordash will go on pause.
Had a delivery ones "shop & deliver" from Dollar General. The order was literally a grocery list of food. I was so flustered and confused that someone would order so much from a dollar general like this. It was more then 90 items on the order. Finally got it shipped half of it was substituted because DG is absolutely the worse place concerning their inventory. After getting the order to the delivery I found out it was upstairs! I had the biggest attitude in the world lol.. but to my surprise it was a little old lady who ordered it, she needed help putting the food in the kitchen and she explained to me this was about the most of interaction with human people 😢... My attitude turned completely around at how sweet the lady was, I ended up helping her put all the groceries away and programmed her tv remote before I left. 😂 She was a lovely lady and I was glad I shopped for her that day ❤
There's a saying...sometimes you have to be willing to go the extra mile. Sometimes it pays of, but it's not always about the money but you feel good in your heart knowing you helped someone in need 😊
FINALLY!! Pedro, I watch you daily and may I say that this vlog touched my heart ❣ ❣ immensely. Sometimes everyone needs to take a few steps backwards to see the bigger picture of life. Bless you sir, bless you.
I live 7 blocks from a WHOLE complex with low income housing attendees that can't walk. They know me as the dasher WITH the code to get in. I meet them outside, inside, on the side, (back door for the wheelchairs). They make it worth my while ❤
Always be grateful& humble for what you DO have, I helped cared for my 3 totally disabled brothers my whole life along with my other family, that taught me me to always remember how lucky I am to be able to help others and be grateful in so many ways Pedro
As I said in a previous video of yours. Everything isn’t about money. Sometimes how much the order pays in cash doesn’t matter if you’re truly helping somebody.
Pedro, I agree with you %1000. Fellow dashers, please don't read below this line because I'm going to ruin his video with a "ME TOO" copycat. Pedro, as a fellow dasher I have total respect for you. There are times that doordash hits you with an order that seems routine, but when you arrive, it is worse. The customer is elderly, dementated, or something is wrong. I deliver to them and treat them with total respect. I drive away thinking "did I just do that for two dollars or did I do something good for my community?" As a dasher, I think I contributed a tiny bit to my town. Its not much... its only a sandwich, but its the only human contact they will see all day. $2 dollars. I'm cool with that. Now the rest of the no tipping 10 mile assholes can kiss my ass.
Our Earth is going through a huge change and it’s affecting us all. Changes are coming Huge Changes but we will go through some rough times and then things are going to improve 🙏
I don't know how you guys work without a prop 22 guarantee in your state. There's no way in hell. I would work for that amount of money in those places
Hi all, I deliver for DoorDash. I wouldn’t mind doing a shop and deliver for a disabled or elderly person or someone in need once a week. Unfortunately, there’s no way to tell when we’re sent orders.
Life is a test. The test is We are all the main character we can only see through our own eyes. The test is can you make everyone else around you the main character even though you can’t see through their eyes
First off what ur talking about is the pin code to go further with the order this was on Uber eats right ? This pin code is the last 4 digits of there phone number
Lack of perspective is real. SOME customers think delivery drivers are beneath them, not knowing we all have different levels of life experiences, including a college education. But all they see is a food driver
hey bro, I suspect that the drug cartels have infilltrated the food delivery network. I have done a few deliveries here in australia that were more rhen just food i susspect
You keep getting tested because you keep failing. You will forget this lesson the next time you go off the rails about one of your little hamburger orders.
