I destroyed the hardest boss in Lies of P in the most underpowered way 

After hour 3 of this boss I kept saying when I would die lol

Same hahah, never could finish Sekiro because I just cant get the parry timing right. Thank God this game is more forgiving somehow. However I still have to defeat Nameless Puppet...

​@@ApexapeeI believe the perfect block window in this game is more thight that sekiro, but at least you can regain health you lost when blocking, so it can still reward you even if you don't parry all that often.

@@ytkeijin8056 well the spectrs, health regain, fable arts make it easier + the ability to choose from different weapons (i love big strength weapons, nog katanas). For me atleast...

don't give up bro, if this was your introduction to the souls like genre it's normal to have that feeling because we still don't understand the mechanics and we are not used to die so many times to learn and overcome the challenge! Believe me, these games can become very addictive and you can't play other games then haha you can beat Nameless Puppet dude, anyone can if the person is willing to learn :) thanks man for the words, cheers!

That comes with practice but in summary, I like to R2 parry when I can interrupt a combo attack, this way I deal damage immediately and avoid further attacks. R2 parry can also lock her in the kick loop and more :)

It take too much time to master perfect guard, especially against this boss in second phase when he has 15 variations of the same delayed attacks. Just using the dash is a much easier to dodge most of the attack

No weapon has 100% damage reduction rate while guarding, all my stats are shown in the end of the video! Any doubt you can always see my live stream in the previous day of this post when I was still learning/practicing and starting my attempts ;)

No, all weapons can perform this. Holding the guard button, then briefly releasing it and instantly holding it back down before an attack makes it appear as if there's an auto-guard. When it actuality, it somewhat blurs the risk between guards and perfect guards(ofc poor timing in release will cause a hit).

@@CrackHardy I never holded the guard button in this entire fight mate, I just quickly tap the L1 button always! I know that the animation of P leads into error from the viewer perspective and seems that I'm holding L1 but not :D

Interesting. Looked kind of fake for that reason, but it sounds like you actually pulled this off. Well done. I feel like the parrying in lies of p was even more unforgiving than sekiro and wo long, which is why I doubted it at first.

P-Organ (more specifically enhancing perfect guard destruction) is not required to break her helmet/weapon, you just need to do a few more perfect guards :)

I recently finished my No Level/No P-Organ/No items/No Legion Arm run, and I assure you the huge impact of "every little" isn't lost on me 😄 The lower your damage the more you have to stay in the fight, and that's where every small defensive measure could make a vital difference. What I meant in the previous comment was simply in the context of the Laxasia fight you demonstrated. If you plan to go hitless, not use fable arts or items, as you've done, a good chuck of P-Organ upgrades won't do anything no matter how upgraded they are. That's simply what I mean 🙂

​@@Dr.UldenWascht yeah you are correct, the majority of P-Organ upgrades don't make a difference but others make. So off the top of my head, I remember some: increase fatal attack damage, increase charged stagger attack power and decrease stamina consumption, enhance perfect guard destruction (with the 2 skills you just need 39 perfect guards to break Laxasia's helmet/weapon in phase 1, without them you need 51), increase staggered time before the fatal attack (to punish more). Congrats on your run, I see you understand these details :)

I'm not the video creator, but if you are on the learning stage, use the weapon with the highest guarding ability. That way, if you misstime a parry and block instead, you won't get punished as much. Focus only on parry and nothing else. You don't need to attack at all. Try getting to the second phase without attacking once (you skip phase 1 if you break her weapon, so attacking is not necessary. It does take about 40 parries, tho, and that's if you have both P-organ upgardes to weapon destruction). Always block a bit early at first. That way, if you misstime it, you'll block instead of taking damage, which will allow you to learn faster.

The reply of @Saixga has some great advices but let me add some other points: 1. Reset your level and invest almost everything in vitality to allow you to get hit multiple times without dying and some in capacity to allow you to carry more weight and add defense parts without being too heavy 2. Use amulets to increase HP, restore HP continuously and increase the weight limit 3. For P-Organ skills & slots, invest in enhancing guard regain recovery, lowering guard regain reduction, perfect guard regain recovery (important to recover HP with parries without attacking), auto charge pulse cells when discharged, add amulets slots, increase pulse cells and enhance their recovery, perfect guard cause stiffness breaking enemy's stance (enhance perfect guard destruction), lower weapon durability consumption and increase weapon durability recovery speed Then, you need to practice a lot to get used to the exact timing that you need to parry each attack, try to take visual and audio cues, like taking a mental photo of something that informs you that is the moment to press guard button (each attack is different and in some attacks maybe is her weapon that gives us the visual cue, or the handle, or her feet etc). In regards to the time investment depends on the bosses, how many handicaps and underpower you want to be, the mechanics of each game, approaches/strategies to follow and how hard is the real execution. For this particular one, I maybe spent around 6 hours only on learning and practice (trial and error, trying different weapons and approaches, polishing the gameplay, etc) and 5 hours on attempts that could be less (like 1 or 2 hours) because in my first attempts, there were 3 times that I just got 1 hit near the end of the second phase when I just needed one more parry haha it was unlucky but that happens sometimes :)

@@Saixga Thank you for the advice, you helped me realize in regards to parrying and guarding I haven't been truly thinking about when I should be tapping LB for the perfect guard. I don't know how I overlooked what the game essentially tells you; tap too soon and you guard, tap too late and you get hit, the sweet spot is somewhere in between. Anyways, thank you for the help :)

It never actually occurred to me to respec in order to maximize the amount of hp, defense, and survivability possible so there's more room for error and experimentation against the bosses. My goal is to beat Laxasia in a stylish way(perfect guarding everything and giving it my own twist via fable arts, weapon abilities, etc) because I find her to be the most cinematic and satisfying boss fight to learn. I've been putting more emphasis on trying to recognize body language and posture that indicates when an attack is going to come out and should be parried as you mentioned I can definitely see this will create a consistency in my perfect guards. I've been struggling to determine audio ques but I think that will come with more practice. Once more, thank you for the fast and detailed response and producing content I find entertaining!

One more clue, change buttons and put parry at Y and special move to LB. Its better for your reflex.

Yes that's it, you don't need to even attack as long as you do a big amount of perfect guards to break her helmet/weapon :)

Yeah it was an option in this fight, but not in many even using 2 weapons! In some cases the grinder is mandatory and still considered "no items" because there is no other way (only if we kept changing the weapon going to the menu haha) :)

Thanks man :) Yes, I had the two "Increase Staggered Duration" slots activated but it does not make much difference in this fight because in the first phase, I could do only perfect guards (parries) to break her weapon/helmet without attacking at all and in the second phase, the damage of giving 1 or 2 hits more while she is staggered would not be that noticeable in the long run with such low damage output haha I will probably try later without P-Organ too as it's the only thing left to remove :)

@@MugiwaraNoLima Yeah definitely, a lot of your damage came from redirecting her lightning bolt which i'd guess doesn't scale with whatever weap you're using anyway.

nope its just animations being weird. After a perfect block or block it takes more time for the animation to react than it takes for the actual imputs. I noticed it while playing that the sword looks like Iam holding the block even when Iam not

As I was already in the guard position and as long as I perfect guard, there is no issue having 0 stamina :) it's almost like Sekiro, as long as you deflect, posture never breaks :D

Unfortunately some of my weapons are already upgraded a bit in this save file and so, I couldn't test all +0 weapons to know which is better! I really like the Coil Mjolnir, it isn't even affected when we attack her shield :) I may try the Baton handle in this weapon or others to see if it's better but please remember I'm not using fable arts :) and thanks for the sub man, appreciate it!

When you parry the game keeps your guard up for some time after it. Anyway it's just a feature, you still need to press the guard button for each parry, otherwise you'll just guard the following attacks

I need to press block both times in this case mate! All my parries in this fight are just a tap on the L1 button :)

10% of my play through was parrying, the rest was rolling in circles around enemies and stabbing😂

@@MugiwaraNoLima i had no idea you could do this. I was level 82 at the time with twin dragon sword and 26 dex so it makes sense i could never parry before she died
