I did NOT see that coming! | First time watching SUPERNATURAL Reaction 1x9 'HOME' 

One of my favorites of season 1. I love how Sam tells the little girl the exact same thing that their dad said in the pilot - "Take your brother outside as fast as you can. Don't look back." Awesome callback

I feel like Dean is more traumatized about their mother's death than Sam. Sam doesn't even remember her, while Dean does. And Dean remembers running out of the burning house with Sammy in his arms.

This episode is so cool! It shows how Sam and Dean are dealing/dealt with the death of their mom, while also showing their childhood home. I love it!

I just love the look on Sam's face when he hears his mom say his name for the first time he will remember it. It is such a beautiful and overlooked moment.

Even though I had already decided to watch the whole show, that scene where Dean calls his father is what really got me hooked. All those movies and shows make me feel very thankful that we don't have garbage disposals here. 😅

I remember when I first saw this episode my jaw too also dropped. It's because the entire time you're just thinking like oh the dad must be dead but then the fact that he just there purposely hiding from them. It really gets you ramped up trying to solve the mystery

Love how just in case anyone watching this isn't scared by the themes, liability and homeowners issues are thrown in here and there. Everyone scared of those.

I loved when Sam tells the girl to take her brother outside the way John told Dean to take Sam. Shwoing how similar Sam and John are.

So the extras on the DVD has an extended scene with John's old co worker. He called CPS on John, who then ran. They call it 'The Winchester disappearance" hinting that John went motel to motel to evade cps in the beginning. Not technically Canon, but very interesting

You're going to love the emotional baggage journey through the whole series. Great supporting characters like Missouri make it an amazing adventure.

You didn't notice but, when Sam told the little girl to get her baby brother out the house, what he said was word for word what Papa Winchester said to Dean back in episode one. I've always liked that. Also, about being somewhat psychic, here's a true story: I was once in a car when my cousin and his pregnant wife, riding back to my home after a great weekend spent with them. Literally 2 blocks away from being there, She (from the passenger seat) turns to me and ask: -So, did you enjoy the weekend with us? To which I replied : -It ain't over yet. You see I was simply referring to the weebit left until We get to my place. But around the corner we go and Bam. A car ram us (Slightly, no one was hurt) on the back wheel wing. I had to call my mom at my house so that she could bring a hammer to try to fix the body of the car (It was a bit caved in and stuck to the tire). Or another time, I was to a place I've never been before, (with the same cousin and wife mind you...) to bring back a kid that spent the week with them over holiday. We were about to leave and 3 kids about 13 were just fooling around chasing one another (The kid we brought back was 7 and trying to play with them but they were just running away from him...poor thing) So it was a hot day and they had a fan running, but without the cap thing in front of the fan. The 7 year old ran very close to the fan and I swear my heart missed a beat as I tough he got hit by the running fan, but to no avail. Yet, a mere 2 seconds after I hear a loud scream, coming from the main door. The poor kid had the door shut on his finger, (He was still running after the 3 other kids and they slammed the door behind them, thinking he was way further behind) He had to be taken to the hospital, but no permanent damage. Again, I felt like something happened to that kid, before it happened. So you tell me, have you ever experienced something like this yourselves?

Yes, homeowners could cover that accident up to a certain $$ amount. I love Missouri's character. Loretta Devine is awesome! So smart, funny, sweet & she commands respect. You called that!! Honestly I don't even think I had a fear of monsters under my bed and in the closet before I started watching creep/ier stuff like "Beyond belief" and my longest time friend had a full on Horror Movie phase from like 11-21 and dragged me a bit to watch these light classics (which are way enough for me) like "The secret Windo." "The Others" (still spooked out but also still 1 of my faves) "Orphan." "Case 33 or was it 32" sth like that and "Wrong Turn" (Once and never again am not mcuh for yucky stuff) :D Why is that the creepy stories are often the best written onces? Humanitiy is seriously disturbed since day 1....

I think the house insurance would put you in the loony bin (to use Deans words) if you't tell them you're childhouses is hunted...or they make an attraction out of it.

Best to have good coverage in your insurance because in most places if a person has an accident on your property they could sue. I like to think most people are good enough to realize it was an accident and not your fault. Plus contractors have insurance for their works. But in this day and age who knows. Great episode love when characters reappear.

I'm honestly afraid of the people who could be hiding in the house I live in instead of the dark! Because Sam and Dean deal with monsters! Is it really that farfetched that he can see the future?

Omg dude the same happens to me all the time, it’s like I’m in tuned into things. One time my husband and I were listening to Abba and I told him about the movie Mama Mia and we looked it up and it was Amanda Seyfried’s birthday that exact day! It’s happened so many times where I will be scrolling TikTok or reading a book at the same time as watching a movie and the same situation or word or name happens at the exact same time in both and it has happened so often it freaks me out and I’ve had to start writing it down. One time I was watching a movie called Revenge and in it she was cauterizing a wound and in the book I was reading it talked about cauterizing a wound, at the exact time it was happening on screen!!!! I was listening to Nickelback while driving and when he sang “parked out by the tracks” I was driving over railroad tracks. I was reading a book where the main characters were arguing about the pronunciation of Van Gough and the next tv show and movie I watched both argued about it as well, 2 separate show and films that I picked at random. I was watching a Modern Family episode with them on the train while scrolling social media and a meme I read was that when someone knocks on a door a young person drops down and crawls to the window to check it out and at the exact same time Phil dropped down and army crawled on the train, the SAME EXACT TIME! I have so many more, but it definitely doesn’t help with lottery numbers cause I’ve tried! Lol So glad this happens to other people!

So very much trauma in this episode! I feel so bad for those boys and really, it's only gonna get worse, lol. The story is starting to build now and the main part it's building towards won't be done until the conclusion of season 5 but some of the other parts will keep building until the start (and some the end) of season 2. One thing I love about this show is how the story just keeps getting bigger and bigger as we go but what we might consider filler episodes are still good and entertaining and play into it all. I'm so loving your Supernatural journey!!

I love how Peyton is married to dean and Sam’s dad irl now. I had suuuuuch a huge crush on them both. Also there’s so much dirty fan fic with Sam and dean out there 🤣 at least when it was airing it was a thing lolll

PS the kid would be fine it takes 1-2 weeks to die in a fridge if you have food and water the mother would have found him long before that

This is, unlike last episode, one of the best of season 1. I like how it teases some answers to the backstory of what might have happened to their mother and to Jess. How it takes them back to their childhood home but the twist is that it’s NOT actually about what killed their loved ones. This one makes me emotional too, because you realize that this is the only time Sam has ever seen his mom other than photos and she appears to him in the form of a spirit. Missouri is a great character, you’ll definitely see her again at some point down the road. She’s a very soothing character for me as well. I think that what John meant by “ The Truth” is finding out what killed his wife. That’s the whole reason he’s missing and out on his own right now. He thinks that hr doesn’t want his kids being dragged into the biggest mystery/ deadly hunt of his life because he wants them safe. He knows that at this point they are each old enough and skilled enough to hunt little jobs on their own- especially Dean. He’s keeping one step ahead of them and leading them to people who need help while trying to get answers on his own. He basically just lured them out on a hunt under the guise that they would be able to track him down, they STILL think that’s what they are doing. Until they actually find him though, he’s going to keep them on their toes. It’s kind of the formula of the show, though it gets way more complicated near the end of the season and heading into season 2, and I can’t wait for that because your in for some heavy surprises.
