This is part 2 of a multi-part series on some amazing things Todd has done. I have always felt and believed that cats are far smarter than we give them credit for. I only teach Todd single words and their meanings/concepts. In Part 1 I showed how on his own Todd started using two, three, and four words to make kitty sentences for his requests and how he asked me to make him a toy.
In this video, I show how Todd on his own is using the words he has to tell me things he wants me to know. I believe this shows he truly understands the words, their meanings, and concepts.
Todd is a 6-year-old neutered male cat at the time of this video. Todd and his dad have been learning to communicate with each other since May of 2022 with the help of recordable buttons. We aim to let Todd express himself and tell me his wants and needs. Currently, Todd has 45 words on his soundboard. This channel is dedicated to Todd learning to “talk”.
