@@ClassMonitorFuHuahe said in the attack on titan reaction video that he will consider(?) doing an anime reaction video once a month in addition to the video game music reactions
The opening segment of Marco singing honestly just serves as a reminder that opera somehow got archetyped as the boring form of theater whenever it appears in media, but the sheer lung strength and vocal range needed for it is insane.
@@randompolygon8401Part 5 almost reaches part 2 in the music department, but 2 just has the strongest experimental soundtrack which fits the series perfectly since it is Jojo's "bizarre" adventure after all.
precisely why it's my favorite; it's all great but i just really liked the mix of genres and Iwasaki Taku is just really great at making hype tracks that are good music standalone.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure has a massive love of music, a lot of characters in the original manga are named after bands, songs, or albums, and the anime went one step beyond by hiring a musical team who also clearly love music and want to experiment whilst making and incredible soundtrack. It's one of my favourite series, but honestly if you only listened to the music then that alone would make me happy, because I think you will really enjoy some of it.
I know it's your whole brand but sometimes I forget you're an opera singer and then I hear you casually pull out something like 0:35 and it's always just insanely impressive
It’s touching that this is the video you chose on the day it was announced that Akira Toriyama has passed on. While this is Jojo's video, the song fits.
"My soul will not die... it is immortal!" Absolutely in love with your rendition of this piece's climax!! Seeing you nearly push yourself out of your seat to reach its emotional height is wonderful. While i'm not very well versed in opera, i have a love for it similar to my long-time love of screamer vocals in metal. The raw emotion one can express through vocal styles that embrace and emphasize the full power of the human voice is truly overwhelming 😊😊
This still gets me teary eyed to listen to. Despite how goofy Part 2 seems, Caesar's death is absolutely crushing (unfortunate choice of words I know) in large part due to this song
I went to a very big anime convention in Chicago, at one point they had a cosplay show with acts, and a lady (she was probably 20) and performed this whole song on stage not missing a note, in full decorative JoJo cosplay as well, she won best performance and I completely agree she deserved it
@@artemi7 It's my favorite, but I can't give my full opinion because I've only watched it all and read the first two parts- I don't have an opinion on parts 8 or 7
Bro i feel like i got raptured to heaven 😭😭 i never guessed you wou6ever react to JJBA ost, i always subconsciously wished that someone as talented as you would do it some day, but i never actually thought you would do it 🙏🙏 feels like a dream come true man, thank you for this ❤️❤️❤️
Oh wow, I never knew that this background music was so meaningful; I had always thought it was just atmospheric but it seems the lyrics and meaning were actually well thought out.
@@russellcontreras394Nah, that's just a meme. Most are just by fans that ACTUALLY forgot, Like Hamon beat literally made a whole series debunking and make a videdo where Araki ACTUALLY forgot.
This song, especially in context, is incredibly powerful and the moment it happens is both very theatrical and sad. After watching the anime, the climax will be probably forever graved in your mind with the cry of Joseph Joestar, calling for his friend witch I won't tell because SPOILERS X) In any case, It can feel out of place within the whole soundtrack, but I think the contrary. It really make this moment and Jojo in general, special 😊
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is a celebration of music and art. This beautiful piece plays during a time of mourning and just brings so much emotion to the scene. As for opera in anime...more likely than you think! I think the one that people know the most is "Libera Me From Hell" from Gurren Lagann which mixes the modern with the classical. It's a fantastic piece.
In case you were curious, this piece is very tied to sacrifice, i'm sure you got a hint of that from the testo. In the anime the climax plays when a character gives his life to ensure the protagonist which he admires achieves success in their mission. (It's also a big meme in the jojo comunity, mostly because of how he actually dies but i won't spoil lol)
I'm so happy that Marco finally noticed Jojo's, I always wanted to see him react to masterpieces this anime has. I recommend that you check OSTs from Part 3, it has such awesome soundtracks, one of my favorites ever.
Loved this video! Didn't expect it, but so happy to see one of the best tracks from my favourite series. Your vocals were absolutely powerful! Maybe I should go look for an opera..
Marco always has that great sort of energy when he's talking about video game music that you see when someone's talking about something they care and know a lot about, but his manic enthusiasm here is really infectious.
When you say "venticello" with the "c" sound becoming a bit of a "sh" sound... you sound almost perfectly like an Italian from Rome talking, which is very amusing :-D
Yep there's this, Stardust Requiem and Ascension. All of the death themes hit real hard. My personal favorite is La Strada Giusta. Though that last one doesn't have vocals.
No way we got a JoJo's videos by Marco!! Lets goooooo!!! If you want to, go ahead and listen to other tracks from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Admittedly they arent opera related but they're absolute bangers!
Fun fact: the JoJo franchise has 2 instance of remixes the famous Nessun Dorma. The first one is the one in the video "Il mare eterno nella mia anima" in the 2013 anime. The lesser known second one is Dio's Theme from the old 1993 OVA. This video will help you greatly how they sounds: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AWTZ1BOzViY.html
What makes this theme music also beautiful but sad is that this is the death theme music for the character Caesar in jojo's bizarre adventure part 2 and it had brought one the many great jojo memes of joeseph joestar screaming Caesar
If we’re moving to even more anime openings, I’d recommend the One Piece openings by Kitadani (especially opening 15) since they sound amazing in terms of vocals and instrumentation.
Much of the part of the story this is from takes place in Italy. The heightened emotional drama of the character most associated with this piece is operatic in its own right. The mangaka who created the story loves Italy and Italian culture. A piece like this is so fitting. I love Jojo’s, and I love opera.
I was introduced to JoJo's in part 2 by a friend of mine, who had already seen the full series and prefaced the watchthrough with "Don't worry about Caesar he's not very important" I, a fool, attached to this sentiment, and Caesar became my favorite character in Part 2 by sheer proxy of him being supposedly auxiliary to the main Joestar drama. Man
I hope you do "Made in Abyss" reactions, It has some of the best music in the entire anime industry. some attacks that I can recommend starting with are "Quartet For Broken Arms", "Post-Op Meinya", "Prushka Sequence", and "Old Stories". Some additional recommendations would be "Terror in Resonance"'s Icelandic inspired tracks, and "Elfen Lied"'s opening, "Lilium", which is basically a Biblical choir. Anyway, great video and great commentary as always. Keeep up the good work, son.
Even if it’s a month these anime videos are worth waiting for. You should check out the track Diva from Blood+ by Mark Mancina, it’s the song that made fall in love with opera and the one I revisit often.
I think what you would like to listen to,is Giant Robo: the day the earth stood still ost, its performed by Warsaw philharmonic orchestra and choir, and the show itself has a very classic feel.
Out of the places to make his manga Italy is Araki's favorite while Egypt is the worst, plus he was always interested in the renaissance painters work which you can find as one of his inspiration for his iconic poses.
Now I want to see Marco cover this song! I would also enjoy what his friends in the music industry would think of anime music, especially more of the JoJo OST and Attack on Titan OST!!!
This was a very nice breakdown of some JoJo's music. I just want to say there's so much anime with so much great music, whether serious, gentle or outright comedic that it's almost a given by now for me to just listen as if it's normal. I just want to throw my card in the hat and recommend Shiro Sagisu's Never Meant To Belong, from the very popular, and now rather old, Bleach series. It's a very nice piece, but so is the whole soundtrack.
You should also totally check out the ARK Survival Evolved through to ARK Genesis II OSTs! Some of the best classically oriented compositions in gaming soundtrack history imo, and without a doubt, my favourite bunch of game OSTs.
