When I first watched this show this episode hit me so hard, I never thought I’d be this sad for Rolo. Such a perfectly written scene. The music, the monologue from Rolo, Lelouch trying to stop him. And the saddest part is that Lelouch didn’t even hear Rolo’s monologue because he was hit by the Geass too.
Suzaku's snapped, Nina is filled with guilt, the city's been nuked, Rolo is dead, the Black Knight's betrayed Lelouch, and Nunally's dead. So much happened in only 2 episodes!
If you were touched so much by Rolo's death, the last episode will tear your hearts apart and left empty for three days and you will think about that for a week and it will give you one of the greatest experience in watching anime ever. 🙂 Can't wait to see your reaction to that. 🙂
Schnizel is a very well written character. Up until this point there has been no indication that he is evil. He understands war and that zero casualties is not an option here. He will whatever he can for the people (as long as they are under Britanian rule). He even chastised the Emperor for his ignorance of his people. He even abandoned a winning position when he came to know that the Chinese population turned against the High Eunuchs. In a perfect world, Schnizel would be a great ruler.
I've noticed alot of female reactors don't have sympathy for Lelouch, and tend to completely forget that he is human and the most worthy of admiration out if this cast; even to the point that they hope for his downfall. Likely because he is so smart and has an almost self-righteous empathy towards people that when he's able to read other people and even predict situations people forget that he's just a normal person. It also makes Kallen , Shirley, Rolo, and C.C all the more admirable for sticking by his side and seeing the kindness in him even as he's cursed with loneliness and blame.
Obsession, addiction and pride causes destruction. Chaos through suffering leads to humility. Suffering clings to hope. Hope seeks for meaning and purpose in Love. Love rejoices in the Truth. The Purpose of the The Way, The Meaning of Life, The Love in the Truth.
Nina just had to figure out how to divide by 0 while messing around with Uranium isotope. This is why no high schooler should enjoy math! Also see! Tamaki is very important, even Schnizel acknowledges the goat! He was there at every turning point in the series, from the very first moment off screen that started this whole show and made CC meet Lelouch. He is the man who created Zero!
If you dont like Lelouche you have no understanding of the themes of Code Geass. he's the only one in the entire cast who dares to challenge systems of oppression in their totality. The black knights are only in it for Japan, the britannians are the oppressors, and that includes suzaku. Nunally and the school council are happy to sit by and do nothing as their leaders systematically oppress the natives of the conquered land they occupy. Of all the people presented on the show, the only one worthy of any kind of admiration is Lelouche.
We’re gonna talk about this in the discussion cause I think you’re right And Lindsay doesn’t dislike lelouch exactly, she just find his dramatic nature a bit crazy lol
31:50 No offense Carson you are headcanoning yourself without any evidence. As much as I love Code Geass, R2 Ep 19 is the worst episode ever. This episode makes the Black Knights look like a bunch of idiots. Carson when has Sayako told Diethard that Zero is a former prince? Why would she tell him that? Sayako is loyal to Lelouch and she would never reveal his identity. So no offense that's a bad take with no proof. I hate this episode for multiple reasons, however I'll make it brief. Carson, If your enemy comes to you in person ( AFTER NUKING A BOMB) tells you that your leader who has been fighting beside you all this time is a former prince and has supernatural powers specifically to control others WITHOUT ANY EVIDENCE ALL JUST A BUNCH STATEMENTS AND DOCUMENTS THAT CAN BE FAKE, YOU EXPECT YOURSELF OR ME TO BELIEVE IN THIS? ANSWER IS NO. Again the Black Knights never have been introduced to supernatural powers so you expect to believe in this bull. Again the documents can literally be doctored and nothing more. Again the Black Knights need to be asking questions on Geass like where it came from, how did Lelouch get it, are there any other users, does the royal family have this power and most importantly how does Lelouch's power? I can literally go on and on, but you get the point. That statement Ohgi makes is absolutely disrgacful and idiotic. Speaking of Ohgi, Ohgi is so guilty the fact that no one criticizes how Ohgi kept an enemy women from his friends is so dumb. Again no one asks these questions. Also why Black Knights pointing guns at Leliuch? Schniezel asked them to bring lelouch to him NOT KILL HIM. How did that change in few minutes? Jeez the Black Knights don't use their freakin brains. Lindsay no offense I don't get why your saying Lelouch is awful. Look I get it Lelouch isn't perfect, he obviously isn't a good person. However tell me what makes Schneizel, Charles and the Black Knights for almost killing Kallen them much better. There all awful people. Again the Black Knights were going to kill Kallen for no reason just because she stood with Zero. They heard Schniezel's story but not Lelouch's, IS THAT OKAY? No it isn't, again Schneizel is just calculating and manipulative as Lelouch, he can literally turn his backs and kill the Black Knights the next day if he wants. Just because he's willing to give Japan back, that doesn't mean he'll won't conquer it again. Again Lindsay without Lelouch, the Black Knights can't win which Kallen and Diethard confirmed. So making this decision was absolutely stupid for the Black Knights. They should've asked the other members such as Xinge Ke, Kaguya AND THE UFN!!! The fact they made this decision so quickly without consulting with others is so dumb. As I said what if Schneizel decides to betray the Black Knights once he has Lelouch, what are they going to do? They are dead, they can't win. Schneizel can literally FLEIJA them all and it's over. Rolo's redemption, Lelouch's resolve to live and Suzaku morality changing are the only things I like in this episode. Otherwise I hated this episode.
