An important thing about Lelouch's final plan is actually the preparations that aren't mentioned in detail but are there with hindsight once you know the bigger picture. He had Jerimiah crush all possible opposing nobility ensuring there could be no new sovereignty in the future for Britannia besides Schnizel, who when geassed for the good of the world, is superior even to Lelouch according to himself and Cornelia. He sacrificed the vast majority of Britannia's military's power in the final battle making it so no one could make use of it anymore. He ordered all his Royal family into either servitude at the palace or into the arm forces, the former destroyed by Schnizel, the latter by Lelouch in the next part. Japan produced 80% of the world supply of Sakuradite, the material needed for super conductors for knightmares and power supplies. As a result Japan has no more after he forced Mt. Fuji to explode with it, ensuring Japan's safety from future invasion and drastically increasing the cost of creating knightmares, the cost of war. Since the Black Knights became an amalgamation of not only its member states but also all former countries that weren't UFN or Britainnia, this also means countries that might have considered a power grab before no longer can due to their casualties. He subjected Britainnia as a whole to the save life style it put onto its Number areas, essentially snapping a big portion of its populous out complacency, important for stopping an acceptance of imperial power again from those who had once benefitted from it. Jerimiah and Anya are together in "retirement" meaning that should future issues arise, Suzaku has 2 of the strongest pilots in the world he can call upon to aid him, without having to involve Kallen who can now experience a normal life. And lastly he never tarnished Schnizel's image to the world as he only got to use the Damocles against Lelouch, and no one besides his inner circle knew his plan, so his diplomatic ties remain in tact as he serves Zero and by extension Nannally going forward. It really was a perfect plan, building on both his past accomplishments and the new situation Lelouch found himself in. Its because of all that people could look past their differences towards a common pain and enemy, which prompts a new generation to come forward and improve the world with a collective will never seen before. Its actually a perfect ending. Even him and Suzaku coming full circle facing the consequences for their own evil deeds. Suzaku atones through a life of selfless sacrifice when he before thought death the only atonement, and Lelouch gave up the bright future he wished to live with Nannally but knows he left his heart with those he cared most for, knowing that his life wasn't one of just struggle and solitude.

The Code Geass creators stated that Nunnaly could tell when people are lying by holding their hand (which she's done previously) so when she held Lelouchs hand and could tell he was at peace, she understood in that moment everything Lelouch was trying to do.

@kosmaster199 @kosmaster199 no, in the code geass guide book the creators specifically mentioned that this was what happened, they didn't have time to cover it all during the show. Just like the zero requiem, they never fully explained what it was so they they threw it in the guide book.

Lelouch's entire reason for living was Nunnally, and he has wanted to die ever since she was supposedly killed by the fleija. It was in that context that he came up with the Zero Requiem, fulfilling the wish he had at that time to die. This is why the discovery that Nunnally was still alive was so devastating. He rediscovered his reason to live right after passing the point of no return by attacking the UFN, and not deviating at all from his plan after this makes it a true sacrifice. Something we'll never know is what Lelouch would have done if he wasn't aware of the threat Schneizel and the Damocles represented. The last thing Emperor Charles said to him was "you'll inherit his world, Schneizel's world," and he had seen what the fleijas could do that same day. A lot of what he did in making himself the villain was designed to bait Schneizel into a confrontation before Schneizel took the Damocles into orbit. Without that threat, would he have simply been a good emperor, or would he have abandoned the world stage and lived out his days in hiding as a commoner again? Again, we'll never know. Lelouch truly learned from those around him, and his final plan and ultimate disagreements with his father and brother stem from those lessons. He learned from Kallen that the fact that soldiers are not chess pieces that do exactly what the chessmaster wants is a good thing. He learned from Milly's antics with the student council the importance of celebration. He learned from Shirley the importance and power of love and passion. He learned from C.C. the problems inherent in a life without change. All of these lessons were put into his arguments with Charles and Schneizel as well as the planning of the Zero Requiem. Because Lelouch vi Britannia was also Lelouch Lamperouch, the boy who lived among the commoners, he could see the good in humanity that those who lived their entire lives in royalty were blind to, and put his faith in humanity to get along without him once he was gone.

Quote from the Code Geass Official Guidebook; "For those two who bear the heavy sin known as killing their fathers, they share the belief that they can forgive each other by imposing the greatest punishments on themselves. Death for Lelouch who wishes for a tomorrow with his sister, life for Suzaku who wishes to atone for his sins through death. Suzaku, who accepts the weight of Zero's mask, gives his gratitude to Lelouch. For the fact that he can atone for his sins. For the results of fulfilling his own wish." Also remember at the start of the season when Lelouch asked Guilford; "What do you do when there is an evil you cannot defeat by just means? Do you stain your hands with evil to destroy evil? Or do you remain steadfastly just and righteous even if it means surrendering to evil?" He answered; "To defeat evil, I must become a greater evil" Here is another quote from the Guidebook; "Lelouch, who gathered not just his sister's but the sins of all of his kin, tells Suzaku that he wants him to kill him. And, atoning for his sin of killing his father by becoming Zero and devoting himself to world peace. That is Suzaku's wish. Pierced by Suzaku's sword, Lelouch dies with a satisfied smile on his face. The curtains are lowered upon the history of one boy who performed the perfect 'evil' to the end."
@In-The-Zone
@In-The-Zone 9 месяцев назад
That quote never made sense for Lelouch. Not only was stopping Charles not a sin, its represented as humanity itself choosing to erase him for taking away its will. Lelouch called to C's world to not stop the progress of time and in response it eliminated the mechanism and two remaining people who wished for that. He prompted Charle's death but it was reality's choice it happened in order to protect humanity's will.

In case it wasn't obvious, Lloyd, Nina, and Cecille were all in on the plan. They knew how things would end, including that Suzaku would fake his death and kill Lelouch. Their betrayal was part of the plan. So that they couldn't be held responsible for Lelouch's crimes. Jerimiah was as well, but I'm not sure why he was forgiven by the world. Thank you Karsen and Lindesy for watching this incredible anime and broadcasting your reaction to the greatest anime in history. :) I understand that many people won't agree with me and as, I see by your reaction, you also may have doubts about that statement. When I've watched this anime for the first time I also wouldn't rate this so high as the best anime in history until I've read a comment from someone in the internet that gave me the interpretation to this end. After that, when I figured out what was the meaning hidden under this amazing ending, I proclaimed Code Geass as the best anime I've ever seen. I was thinking more and more about this amazing final and after I've rewatched everything my jaw dropped from amazement. I've discovered that this show gives us the incredible interpretation that's making this show even more outstanding and many people can just miss it out. I stated lately that watching this show is like reading a Bible - for the first time you think it's really a good story but when you can see parralels and refferrings to the whole story it gives you indescribable feelings how brilliant this masterpiece is. So, what is that interpretation which I've read on a comment that changed this anime to top1 for me? The interpretation is that: LELOUCH IS ALIVE! He stole the code from Charles and activated it by his death. When I've read that interpretation I wasn't convinced about that and it wasn't satisfactory to me as it gives the sacrifice of Lelouch less value. However, after I try to understand the characters and philosophy of this show it suits perfectly. We can write a PhD thesis about this but let's just explain this on one character that is one of the most important to this show - C2. C2 is truly a tragic person. She lived for so many years as the wielder of the Code and never she's been happy. That's why she wanted to be killed and Charles wanted to use that to obtain her Code. However the true wish of C2 was to not to be dead but to be loved. That's why she received the Geass that used power of Love. Geass is the power related to the person's desires: that's why Lelouch received the power of command, Charles the power to change memories as he desired to change the past, Marianne the power to live in eternity and in someone else body, Rollo the power to be invincible as he was weak physically, Mao to read minds as he wanted to know if C2 truly loves him. C2 wanted to be loved and after the experience of her geass and after so many years as immortal girl, she lost hope that she'll ever be loved until she met Lelouch. That's why she was surprised by Lelouch when he said that "if you're a witch, I'll become a deamon". That's a really strange state to confess love but it works really well on C2. :) So, now in the end, after Lelouch code is activated, he also lives with immortality as C2 and now both of them can love each other for eternity. The proof is that C2 is truly happy in the last scene and she was talking directly to Lelouch who is the guy riding the wagon. This detail is just incredible! The authors of this show Gorō Taniguch and Ichirō Ōkouchi tricked the viewer making Lelouch such brilliant genius that is able to trick even the viewer! Of course this interpretation can be argued as C2 can talk with Lelouch via C-world but let's left that to discussion. For me the this interpretation suits very well. That's why I love this show becuase it's telling indirectly about three most important values in life: LIFE, SARIFICE and LOVE. Overall this ending is the best not only to becuase of this hidden meaning. Those authors are genius because it's not incredible what they've done in the end but also how they've done that! 1. Music - the soundtrack Madder Sky, unreleased soundtrack of Lelouch death and Continued Story - perfect combo, especially that Madder Sky wasn't used earlier in the show. 2. Conclusion with every living characters - everyone involved with Lelouch in the whole story was there directly watching Lelouch's death. 3. Tension and emotions - when we were watching that for the first time we wasn't sure if Lelouch is good or bad. Sudden appearance of Zero and sacrifice of Lelouch is breaking heart. Just amazing how they did that! 4. Quotes - from the begining we received many philosophical quotes and this final they are all reused reminding us what was in the begining. It's incredbile genius! For example: "Only those can kill who are prepared to be killed", "I destroy the world and create it a new", "The power of the king will condemn you to solitude" (also this quote proves how lonely C2 felt after those years and in the end she was not only refferring that statement to Lelouch but also to herself as she was wrong, finally finding a true love with Lelouch). 5. Reference to the rest of the show - there's many but let me point out some: - the chapel where C2 is praying during final scene - the praying is a reference as she was tricked by nun and also that chapel is the same place where she killed Mao - Lelouch dying while crowd was shouting "Zero, Zero, Zero" - Euphemia died the same way. While she was dying the crowd was shouting "Zero, Zero, Zero" for Lelouch. - Suzaku as Zero - just perfect overall and discussed well with BOLDreaction but also note that the last request from Euphemia was that Suzaku should attend to school - he can't do that becuase, as Lelouch told him about his punishment, "You'll sacrifice the ordinary pleasures of your life for the benefit of the world." - Jeremiah Gottwald - remember when Guilford told him that he had only two option: riding a knightmare or going on an oragne farm? He did it both. Truly a winner and best side character development ever! There's of course a lot more but let it be as this comment is really long. In conclusion, I've never seen such perfect ending with so many details returning and sticking together in the final. Until today I've never seen something so good and that's why I consider this anime as the best. This is truly a masterpiece worth rewatching many times! I also recommend downloading soundtrack. Thank you BOLDreaction, Karsen and Lindsey, for enjoying this show! The anime's lore makes it literally impossible for lelouch to be alive. All the false arguments about him being alive have been debunked by the community. On the DVD C.C. herself explicitly confirms he's really dead. The creators have officially confirmed he's dead and not alive or immortal. As for the arguments you gave: - codes cannot be stolen. yes, C.C. once says "charles why ddi you steal V.V.'s code", but the anime shows us she wasn't literal because she sealed her code when charles wanted to take it, proving that they can't be stolen or else she wouldn't have been able to do that. - the myth of code activation is contradicted by the anime, Charles already had a code in Turn 14 so BEFORE he shot himself in Turn 15. And even the writers have explaine dthat codes don't need activation.

@@OctavianAsix Please pay more attention when you watch a movie because you missed the entire point of the Resurrection movie! The movie is NOT a sequel of the second season. The 4 (!) movies form a non-canon alternate universe, that's why Shirley is alive in the movies, etc The writers wanted to keep Lelouch dead forever in the canon story, that's why they made the movies where he gets resurrected from the grave by C.C. non-canon Also, Lelouch doesn't have Charles's code in the movies, that was explicitly denied by C.C. and we see that lelouch's mark on his chest is NOT a code but a new power which doesn't make you immortal. Shamna had the same new power and she got geassed and died, both events are impossible for code bearers. And In the movie's picture drama Lelouch gets geassed by the pirate, once again confirming his mark is not a code. On top of that, C's World is the afterlife, we've known that since season 1, confirmed by both Charles who was talking to a dead Clovis, and C.C. who told Mao to go to C's World when she killed him. Lelouch's soul going to C's World confirms, yet again, that he isn't immortal. He as truly dead, like any mortal, but C.C. literally resurrected his dead corpse. Both C.C. and Lelouch confirmed that multiple times.

The movie can be seen as a "what if they continued into a season 3" as the writer didn't want to take the chance and potentially tarnish the show, but also had more ideas so they made a movie instead. Whether it's canon or not really depends on each viewer, I personally think it is, but some do "show canon" vs "movie canon" etc etc

Eren doing a Lelouch would be very silly, for starters Eren has a bunch of followers that aren't under mind control and would be be blamed for supporting his actions, in Code Geass that pretty much only applies to Jeremiah who went into exile and Suzaku who everyone believes is dead. The scale of Eren's actions are also magnitudes bigger, it would be like if Lelouch after winning turned the Damocles onto the Federation of Nations and nuked them to oblivion.

I absolutely love how there were hints of what would later Lelouch call Zero Requiem even when he first got Geass in S1. His dialogue was never about becoming the ruler of the world and he predicted the war end. I like that they left the end ambiguous there that it's not quite obvious if he did die or not. I know one of the staff members later said some things but I think it was a masterful decision to not make it a hard truth in the show itself. (even tho I personally think he died there, there are enough details to find reasons why he wouldn't.) Great show and great reactions. Thank you very much for this!

He doesn't have a code. The anime's established lore and rules make that impossible. The fandom debunked that myth years ago On the DVD C.C. herself even says he's really dead. And the creators have officially confirmed he never had a code. The show is called Code Geass because it's a story about codes and geasses, not because it's possible to have both at the same time. The anime is very explicit about that.

@@IsilionNELE Thanks for the info. Maybe I'm running on outdated theories. Going based on removed cutscene because creators wanted "ambiguity". Haven't watched dvd but would've assumed that c.c. can just be lying (not first time in the show) Will look up how the other theory was debunked, as the removed cutscene is more powerful evidence with theory behind it than disproving it, atleast now for me with current info I have.
@IsilionNELE
@IsilionNELE 9 месяцев назад
@@arnabbiswasalsodeep The "removed cutscene" isn't real. It's a fake video created by trolls to fool fans. You can easily tell it's fake because it's just an edit of a zoomed in, cropped frame. As a result the image quality drops dramatically during "the reveal", and the music stops, and the broadcast logo disappears (cropped off, due to the zoom in) If you're going to look at the video, don't forget to read the comments under the video, there's loads of people calling out the lie As for the creators wanting ambiguity, that too is just a myth. In countless interviews they explained that he's dead and thus doesn't have a code. they even explained that they made the anime because they wanted to write a story where the MC does evil and dies at the end for redemption. lelouch's death is the reason Code Geass exists. The director even said that they never even considered the option of keeping him alive when they made the anime, so obviously they put no ambiguity in the anime either. And that's why the anime's lore is airtight, it is literally impossible for Lelouch to have a code without breaking the established lore. So, again, no ambiguity.
