Heyyyyyyyyyyyyy everybody!!!! Hope you all enjoyed this video. Unfortunelyt, the next video there will be a little of a delay. I will come back stronger than ever, as I am trying to think of some ideas I can do for something different! It's not goodbye, I will definitely be back with some delicious food soon!
Can you do me a favor and type out full subtitles for your text in both languages you speak? You speak like half in English and half in Vietnamese and sometimes have your own English subtitles for the Vietnamese. What you do not realize is if someone hits subtitles on RU-vid it's gonna either offer English or Vietnamese which will either create subtitles in English (with the Vietnamese translated into it) or vice versa. I want to see what you are saying in both languages written out in the alphabet shared by both languages, not with half translated by RU-vid but word for word what you are saying written, can you do this? It could help people who speak both languages learn each others. I am not sure if you are aware that RU-vid even does this, but it's an issue and the only way I know of to fix it is to just literally type it all out yourself and put it in.
I can’t believe Hanoi is so different nowadays, with so many yummy food, I love skewers and hot pot. You guys seem to know where to go and get good food.
My friend she lives in Germany, and she notes one thing: for a developing (fast) country like Vietnam, if you revisit it every 3-5 years, you'll be surprised by how much it has changed. This is true even for Vietnamese who live abroad (they go abroad and think they have all the most modern, latest update of the world but when they come back home they feel backward with their peers using latest tech apps. They can't even recognize their neighborhood streets anymore). But if you revisit a developed country with the infrastructure already built well in the beginning, and you revisit it after 5 or even 10 years, you don't have that fresh, new feeling of changes.
Max and Chris are my favorite vietnamese expat duos, always know where the best places to eat and can't wait to head back to Vietnam and try out these amazing dishes 😀
Max, I am so impressed and amazed by how quickly you were able to learn the language. I left Vietnam when I was a child and your videos make me fall back in love with my home country. I will be heading to vietnam next month and have been binging your videos for inspiration. Can't wait to experience all the amazing food you have recommended. Keep up the amazing work!
JUST found this channel. Having been born in Saigon and immigrated to US ages ago. So my main connection to my Vietnamese heritage is through cooking and eating the cuisine. Which is why I love seeing other Americans enjoy the richness of V-culture! And I almost detect a southern twang from Max.. Hi from NYC-Hamptons 🤩
We have malatang places in Brisbane, Australia. I love the variety and how easy it is, no clean up, great spice and time with friends and family. One more month and I’m on my way to Saigon 🇻🇳
Great video. The fact that you can also speak with the Vietnamese takes your videos to another level, similar to how Bald could talk to the Russians. You're not just spectating and recording from outside, you're interacting. There's a dish I used to eat in Hanoi called Phở Tíu. I'd say it's the best dish I've ever had from anywhere in the world. Have you tried it before? I only found 2 places in Hanoi that serve it, one being up the little food alleyway in the Old Quarter. Keep up the great work
impress for your Vietnamese, i knew not easy for foreigner to learn, i was the one who did try before, its fun to hear..well done and keep doing your vDO guys...FC from Laos
Hey Max and Chris in Hanoi. Thank you for sharing your wonderful day in search of great foods in Hanoi. I’m glad your out of that dreary under the weather feeling. Great that you are enjoying your day.
You guys are a rare breed. Many westerners cannot handle the spices. I love to watch you guys speaking the word Malar Tan correctly. Take care and enjoy the life guys..
I will never tire of your collabs with Chris. Thanks for showing us the local gems. I would love to see a video about why Max loves Saigon and why Chris loves Hanoi.
I love watching Max and Chris in the same videos. The way they talk back and forth is funny! It very enjoyable watching the videos when I have nothing to do.
9:36 just want to let you know that seems doesn't look like some kind of mushrooms to me, it's more like bubble pork skin or Vietnamese call it "bóng bì" they dry the pork skin in the sun then grill it, when people soak or boil it with water it will enlarge and look like a piece of sponge My family usually make some dishes with these in Tết, stir fry with vegetable or put them in the soup they're delicious with their cool texture, specially with soup their texture hold the soup broth literally like a piece of sponge and coming out when you chew or squeeze it in your mouth It just like eatable sponge, very fun food
Mala : spicy: cay Tê : numbing: là do tiêu cay Tứ Xuyên (Szechuan peppercorn)… khi ăn Lẩu mà nhai trúng hột tiêu này thì giống như bị đạp mìn (like walking into the minefield)… boom 💥… tê tái lưỡi khoảng vài phút… nhưng ăn nhiều lần sẽ ghiền loại Mala Hotpot này…
Heyyy Max I think you should try “Xôi Nga” in Phúc Xá Market, Ba Đình 😂 Half the price but I think it has better quality. You should order a box of: Chinese sausage (lạp xưởng), caramelized pork & eggs, with FRIED PATE. Top notch breakfast!!!
It’s so nice you do that. Hope you like Vietnamese food. What you think life there? Not too much stress like living… enjoy the country and all beautiful scenery and all good food. Special sea food ( can’t pay the price we live in ). Enjoy
You should try Xoi Yên on Nguyên Huu Huân street in Hanoi . There are more Xoi varieties there . My favorite Xois are Xoi Xeo voi Cha Quê and Xoi Ngo ( Xoi Bap in South Vietnamese )
Really enjoy yours&Chris videos. There should be a clamps that you can attach your camera to the edge of the table. I get a bit frustrated when you struggles with the camera and trying to eats at the same time. Great job multitasking though.
Did Max got charged a foreigner price? That sound kinda high for a roadside stall in SEA. With that price, we can get nice meal in a nice restaurant in BKK and KL.
Lol which stall in the vid you were talking about? Max and Chris are considered locals here. You think they can be scammed. The price for both dishes are cheap and worth for its quality, same charge for everyone.
Malatang is popular in Australia too but only to the Asian crowd. Not much of western crowd. Maybe because the quality that they do here isn't fresh. Most are frozen.
Hey Max. Do all vendors completely shut down for TET. I'll be there Jan 17-27 and I wanna find as much street food as possible. Thanks for any info. Robby from Bama
Denggggg. I heard about this sticky rice place so many times. Last time I came back home was summer, too hot I didn't want to get out and try this place out
