For anyone that enjoys Wily Wars, check out Sequel Wars! It's a high-quality upcoming fanmade project to make 4-6 in the style of Wily Wars, but it goes even further than that; there is a demo currently available if you want to see it in action. The demo is currently only available on emulator, but the final release will also be fully compatible on real Genesis hardware!
@@GeneralFrankenberry sega channel was a service you could purchase from your local cable provider that allowed you to play a variety of genesis games by temporarily downloading them via your coax cable line. The service required a supplied genesis cartridge, and each month (eventually bi weekly) the games and user interface theme would change. Some of the games were demo/ sega channel exclusive, and the service also offered cheat codes, contests, etc. The games were split into categories. We had a blast with it. Tons of games and it was exciting when the new games would drop.
Awesome stream Ryu, as always. Only caught MM1 & MM2 live, just now finished watching the rest. Can't wait to watch you take on Wily Tower. Thanks to @Dproc8 for the shout out
This man beat all three games in a row on a single 3 hour stream at an average of a game per hour. If I was lucky, I could beat one in an evening. What a guy! Looking forward to you tackling on the Wily Tower!
And he did that on his very first playthrough of this game. Sure, he did beat the original NES games already, but they are not exactly the same in every way.
It took me a week to do that, without the save states obviously or I would have been a lot faster. I’m already glad that this game have a save function instead of passwords.
@@c0mpu73rguy The save function is very handy! I have The Wily Wars on Genesis. However... the save function never worked. 😵 I beat the whole thing ONCE in a life time. Not sure what's wrong with the cartridge. Only the save function fails. A friend has a cartridge of SMW with the same problem.
To be fair, he has played & beaten MegaMan classics before and once you beat a game it's rather easy to replicate. If you know the weaknesses and the level layout each game is quickly re-beaten.
Fans are currently working on a Wily Wars sequel that contains Mega Man 4 through 6. You can find devlogs posted of it on youtube. It's worth checking out and supporting them!
did you know woodman actually heals the super end form of dr. wily in megaman 2? Like you have to hurt him with bubbles first, then you cast woodman on him, and alien wily is full health again, so epic when I made that mistake when out of bubbles lawl
Man, I remember importing a PAL copy of this some 20+ years ago and modifying my genesis just to play this. I was BLOWN AWAY by the graphics, despite the frame rate dropping if there was anymore than a couple guys on screen lol. I can’t remember if I ever got it to run at 60hz… I seem to remember I had two switches on my modified Genesis, one for output format (NTSC/PAL) and another for speed (60/50hz) but I do seem to recall it running slow, like the game was in slow mo. Anyway, it turned out to be one of the best investments I’ve ever made as the PAL original in good shape is over $1K now 😶
I wonder if he played Mega Man Network Transmission. Probably not. If not, I highly recommend playing it. It plays like a traditional Mega Man with some elements from the Battle Network series and some Metroidvania elements. The music is really good too.
This game was good being a collection but i still looove the original Nes version, the sounds, the music i like genesis aswell but my heart belongs to nes version,in genesis the bombs doesn't have sound, weird.
Mega Man Heck ya. Hey Ryu, just out of curiosity did they carry the hack over where you hold left or right (can't remember which, been a while) on the second player controller, which allowed you to jump in and out of pitfalls in Mega Man 3 and not die 😁👍. I remembered discovering that as a kid and was like.. hell ya lol
Yooo Ryu playing the Mega Man games?! If you ever want to join in on our Mega Man Maker speedrunning tournament we would be more then happy to have you!
They *DID* change the *Fireman* A.I. in this one; he is WAY less aggro. But, however, those little ground flames were always there. They just never really mattered w/ that a-hole machine-gunning *Fire Storm* at you.
During the first MM1 Wily stage, Ryu could have just taken a bunch of the little weapon refills and would have saved himself several minutes of farming...
He’s good but average, not amazingly good. However, he’s GREAT in super Mario world, Kaizo, maker etc… I think he’s the e best player I’ve seen in Mario maker.
Play the Japanese version. It doesn't have the slowdown or sluggish gameplay of the European versions. Not sure about the recent North American releases though. I think it has to do with the EU version being formatted for PAL 50hz whereas the Japanese version is NTSC 60hz. I'd assume the NA version is the same the JP version but you should try them out and see what you think. It certainly made the game more fun to play for me.
Try Rockman Rockman from Psp before you continue with the others like Rockman 5 and 6,it's 1 but better,i don't know why it didn't sold well since people say that because it's an awesome game, same game with extras like extra bosses and stuff to collect.X and Maverick Hunter X also same game Rockman x but in Hunter X youhave extra stuff like play as a different character with his own story.
Thank you for using your platform to speak the truth and bring light to the fact that Mega Man 3 has a better theme song and soundtrack than Mega Man 2. We need more people like you on this planet. 🙏💙
Why is mega man 2 harder that enemys need more hits? Because it's the hard Mode and the normal Mode was remove! On nes is a normal and hard Modus. The wily wars mega man 2 has all Charakteristik of the hard Mode from the nes Version. And these birds with eggs resawn automatic al even when you stand still
just like megaman 7 i hated the look of the snes megaman series. megaman x was much better in its gameplay. somehow the snes made it feel slower and i was never able to control megaman as well as the nes versions in this game.
BwaHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA, i'm doing this shiz with my kiddo. I had to pea shooter needleman cuz Idk wtf his weakness is. end of megaman 2 zomg though, suspense. mega man 3 da bomb my kiddo shiz his pants when megaman 2 boss monsters came in into megaman 3.
Truly horrible collection in which the remakes included looks like 16-bit versions of the originals but feels nothing like them. The fire rate is completely off, the physics strange (you can change direction in the air after leaving a platform and then return to the platform you just left, a feature which makes rushing through Quick Man's stage a chore), the slowdowns are hysterical (especially during the final boss in Wily Tower) and many of the stages aesthetics have been lost in translation (just look at Top Man's stage). Been trying to like the games for what they are for ages... but the more I play the, the more I think they suck compared to the originals.
MegaMan 4-6 were awesome. Four introduced the charged shot and the infinitely useful Pharaoh shot. Five has a move that turns your slide into a weapon. Most unique power up ever. Six is kind of different, all the bosses are harder to kill, but still very fun.
AKTUALLY you can charge Atomic Fire in MM2, but charging the Mega Buster was introduced in MM4. It just looked like Ryu here didn't know/remember you could charge AF when he was in Wiley Castle.
Metal Man is harder because the game is defaulting to “difficult” setting from the NES, and the “lightning” indicating that the conveyor belt floor was changing direction with each flash. Wood does work on Airman, you just kept hitting the mini tornadoes, which canceled it out.
Flashman's stage was always one of my favorite tunes on Megaman 2, for sure. But I tell you, I feel like the music in this version lacks the punch that it had on the NES. I don't know how to explain it. It's like the music in this version is too soft or something. It might just be that the volume is lowered than what it would sound like playing it in person vs. over the stream, I'm not sure. But yeah, growing up, this music was the best in all of video games after Nintendo's first party game music!
The Mega Man 2 of Wily Wars is set to its hardest Difficulty! I would have said so on the night you played this... but I just came across this tonight... and thank you not only for this playthrough but for reminding me of how good/better the games music are in 16bit
Damn, that "Together as One" version of MM2 Wily Stage 1 gave me such Omoide wa Okkusenman flashbacks. Listened to it as a kid and, at the time, didn't understand the lyrics at all. Damn.
hi ryu i hope your having a good time play other gams like megaman 1 lord butsman with ass i allwas fail to complete gutsman-cutman-bombman-iceman-elecman-fireman
