I changed from Chrome being my default favorite browser to using Edge as my default favorite browser years ago, back when Edge decided to migrate over to the Chromium OS, and with that migration, gave its users access to the use of pretty much all - if not all - extensions that were created for Chrome. I have a lot - perhaps around 20, if I were to take a random guess - extensions, and those were the key reason for why I constantly hesitated moving from Chrome before the Edge migration, because none of the other browser options available had all of the extensions that I used on Chrome, and I couldn't find any alternative extensions to the ones I couldn't find that I was using on Chrome, so I ended up in the end reluctantly staying with Chrome. But ever since Edge migrated to the Chromium OS, opening the doors to the Chrome Extensions, they have steadily been introducing and adding all kinds of various nifty and cool features to the browser, one of which I found myself constantly using being the Tab Grouping. For someone like me, who likes keeping a lot of tabs open, being able to group my tabs into neat categories that can be collapsed or extended by a click of the button is awesome. Mind you, it has been a while since I last bothered using Chrome browser, so I can't really give any comparison between the two right now, but I can say without a doubt that I would not even consider going back to Chrome being my default favorite browser again.

I've been using Firefox for years. It used to be amazing. It was essentially the lightest full feature browser and it had the best extensions. Nowadays it is a slog. It's super slow, it's got a persistent memory leak problem that essentially forces you to restart the program or perform a hard reload whenever you revisit a website. I'm planning on jumping ship to Edge, soon. I've just been lazy and haven't researched if there are adblocking/pop-up blocking extensions, yet. (Also, Firefox has a really useful extension that lets you download any video that plays in your browser. It's not the most ethical tool, but when the apocalypse happens and the internet stops working, I'll still be able to watch every season of Community.)

The problem with this is going through and dealing with the pain of reconnecting all your accounts and then not having certain extensions... That's not even accounting for moving all of the stuff over to a mobile device to be as intuitive. For as much as I don't like some of what Google does, they do make my digital life a bit easier.

Yo, I noticed this in my life too. Not a huge fan of either, and Microsoft is crazy with their info caching, but edge is my go-to browser for that sidebar and adblocking and privacy... Nuts

These days I only use 2 Google services, Google Play (Android phone and tablet) and Gmail (only cos its free). I use edge everywhere, bing search and I run my own Nextcloud Server for everything else. LibreOffice is my office suite of choice as the Web office component of Nextcloud is LibreOffice Online, contacts, calendar, photo storage, Nextcloud Drive, passwords, notes, RSS reader all nextcloud. I started to move away from Google as got fed up with them shutting down services and I don't want to pay for online services (used to use a pixel phone for the free Google photos for instance that they scrapped after the pixel 5). Everything runs perfectly and I have 1tb of space on my nextcloud server that I can access from anywhere and it's on an 7th gen core i5 PC here in my home, with 3 backups of it as well.

Safari would be my last option

Tbh... The AI bing on the phone is acutally, not bad. I've also used it more and more of late.

Regarding browser: i use brave because i never have to watch ads on yt videos without any addons (like Firefox) … does opera have this built in ad blocker, too?

My main browser is opera GX as it for now. I ditched google chrome, but not Google search yet... It's honestly hard. But I guess once google dies, I will move to bing search.

I’ve been using Edge on my work and my personal gaming PC. I don’t miss Chrome at all.

Slowly using Edge more than Chrome for like a year now. That's about it though.

I saw a comparison chart with all the web browsers listed and every type of info they track. Of all the browsers that tracked users the least, it was Brave by FAR. I don't like Brave's crypto and NFT integration, but other than that, it's been as good as any other browser.

I have not cared much for using ChatGPT for average searches, I have found it useful for work, but I really only use Edge when I have to. I primarily use duck duck go search, because Google search has really went down hill in the last year or so, I used to use it for everything, but it just does not seem to find what I am looking for very effectively anymore. Duck duck go is slower, but seems more effective then google nowadays and it is supposed to not spy on you as much. I mostly use the Firefox browser in part because I have a tab problem, I have to have a huge amount of tabs open at all times and Firefox can handle a couple hundred even on my rather underpowered Laptop with just 8 GB of RAM. While on my desktop I can have 10 browser windows with 500+ tabs open in the background without slowing down other software at all. Chromium based browsers just cannot do that. Also I kind of hate the way Chrome is trying to get rid of extensions.

I like how Samsung Internet is available for non-Samsung Android phones. I can't remember if I stuck with it since I had it on my Galaxy Note8. I switched to a Oneplus 7 Pro and now on a Pixel 6 Pro while using Samsung Internet on the other two phones as well. I have a Chromebook for light web browsing ans online shopping. My details saved in the Chrome browser.

I still use ChatGPT over Bing AI a lot because it saves different conversation threads and history and doesn't limit the thread. For different projects, it's useful to have ChatGPT know what it is you're asking about

Edge on iOS is so bad, also Microsoft needs to work on personal interests. Google does amazing on news and stories when you open google app or chrome app. It shows all the articles you’re interested in.
