@@aymanjc4146Not bring a fanboy. But Qualcomm does do good performance year improvement like in mobile snapdragon processors. Plus Mediatek is also gearing for this.
wait , people will start re selling their Snapdragon x on Windows laptop , once they find its limitations . Remember Windows RT ? they are now cheap laptops that people want to get rid of in the internet
@@tunkunrunk you and I must be the old people here. LOL. I do remember Windows RT, and how bad they were. I think technology has changed drastically though, but I also believe that MS wants total control, and this is the best path to that.
@@phucnguyen0110 for me, Flight Sim. That's the only thing I play. I would hope that most intensive games are given the ability to run natively at 65+ fps as the base.
I am also excited about Lunar Lake, but keep in mind that, as of today, all we have are Intel benchmarks and promises. I would wait until third-party benchmarks and experiences come out before investing in Lunar Lake!
@@AndroidAuthority Indeed, I do hope their claims are true, it would show that x86 can still perform. However I also trust that the next CPU we get from Qualcomm will also be more efficient, I just noticed that the Snapdragon X chips had no low power cores
@@yuvrajsingh099 Yeah, I remember that. So far it's really great battery life. But imagine if they added such light performance cores to take the battery life even further? I'm really excited for their next iteration. Competition is always great for us consumers
This video was released 5 hours ago according to what RU-vid it's telling me now if I know that Google drive for arm is coming. Surely the guy that makes videos for a living about this stuff should know it's coming but he keeps referencing it being a deal-breaker
Currently bought Intel laptop , will upgrade after 3-4 years to ARM. With apple silicon Rosetta was strong didnt have much issue since OS & Hardware is by same company. SD will evolve , let’s wait.
You released this 2 days ago without mentioning Intel Core Ultra 2 (Lunarlake), that actually retake the crown in efficiency, battery life, and performance at the same time, without the compatibility and gaming issues. This one reaches stores in a week! It's a no brainer!
It's obvious that if MS wants to SPY and record you screens with recall, the very least they need is to make it usable. Otherwise they won't have anything to record and spy on. Also, here... take my dislike. Anyone who fails to warn their users about it on an efficient manner gets one. Congratulations.
I already have Windows x86 at home with my Intel NUC, so I am more than ready to go Windows ARM. Qualcomm even publishes a page showing all the softwares that supports Windows ARM, and there's a lot of them.
I have been using SL7 for a while now. I have all the needed apps. Actually ARM windows 11 seems SOOOO snappier and faster on usage. Google Drive is due next month on ARM and apart from that I didn't have any misses except for graphics performance. If you are skeptical about any apps let me know.
@@MH-dc4qe Just tried. But the installation failed mid way. But they have a blog post for release for ARM native and have given workaround to use native windows 11 VPN settings instead of native ARM app.
@@MH-dc4qetry wonder guard and others have announced it as well. You have move out of the app ecosystem if they are not keeping up and caring about customers. Get what is best for you.
I got the lenovo yoga slim 7x snapdragon.fortunately the programs I use run natively. Im not a gamer but will look fo some arm native games just to try out. I use office,Affinity and davinci resolve and the all work well, I sold my lenovo i7 and use my lenovo yoga when I'm on the road. If I need power I use my asus proart desktop. Just waiting till snapdragom come in desktop. The fact that I travel lite with lenovo Yoga and my battery lasts a least a day or more made it a no brainer. Of course I got the lenovo with 32gb ram.
Now I own windows laptops, but I don't understand why it takes so much money to get a laptop that can play a game ?I mean, if I paid $1500 better for a laptop, it should be to run some games. This is crazy.Is it really that hard. 1 }
In my opinion battery life, weight and build quality are very important when it comes to laptops. ARM laptops are the future. When it comes to gaming, except for FPS that need that super quick reaction, one could use NVIDIA GeForce Now. I've been using the free version for some time now, and I'm very happy with it. No need to carry my super heavy gaming laptop around anymore.
We have bought 3: a Surface Laptop, a Surface Pro and a Samsung Book4 Edge. All 3 run flawlessly for what we need in our company: MS office, a few other MS tools, Java, OpenVPN, and of course non-professional apps such as Spotify. No restrictions so far compared to our Intel and AMD notebooks, but unheard battery life, no heat and no fan noise.
Stay, I've been on Lenovo 7x slim and it's refreshing having multi day battery life and very decent Lightroom (prism) performance. It is an Actually quiet and cold laptop. Only issue was Google drive, but Google finally announced arm drive build by end of the year
It is sad to hear that Windows on ARM still needs work. Most harmful software to Windows is code that looks for Intel code, security by obscurity! I hope to see things grow for WOA. My Chromebook is running my Steam application and I have no complaints so far. The more that an OS can run on many different hardware platforms creates a security by obscurity environment. For me I prefer Linus OS on ARM devices like the Raspberry Pi, I am seeing not just the normal productivity software for ARM devices but also some 3rd party's too. Balena Etcher and WPS Office can run on Linux OS made for the Raspberry Pi in deb file. Meaning they were made for Raspbian OS for the Raspberry Pi that is based on Debian OS. Yah, I do believe that things can advance for Windows on ARM in time.
Thanks for the content. Also I think they literally just abounded support for VPN’s and Google Drive now at the recent snapdragon event promoting the lower skew X Plus chip. So native apps coming for maybe end of the year? Forgot the date 🤦🏽♂️ I have an X Plus Surface Pro and very happy with it.
I had the Snapdragon laptop and I had to return it. Because I ran into some compatibility problems with a business app that I have to have for work which is Vonage business. Then I went out and got the same Asus laptop but this time with the AI 9 ryzen the new chip which is awesome at last just as long as the Snapdragon the only thing it does get hot and when you run something like a game it does blow through the battery but I'm lasting 8 hours easy doing office and running RU-vid
Unfortunately, the business world relies too heavily on Windows and x86 for this to be a reality. Just look at the CrowdStrike fiasco for evidence on that.
They will try and tried.. That's the whole point of Qualcomm. If the next Gen makes graphics leap then why would anyone need x86? On another note Qualcomm is trying to buy some part of heavily hit Intel divisions. :) Could be fun..
@@MyCatTookOverMyChannel This is not true, unfortunately. If you're using a VPN browser extension, things you do in the browser are protected. But if you use a different program (say the Netflix app, for example) that will not go through the VPN. In order for your whole system to be protected by the VPN, you need a VPN application installed on the system or integrate your VPN credentials into Windows.
I am a Windows user for many many years. Until I got my hands on a Macbook Pro M2 and i really want to ditch Windows 11 completely. I am rooting for Snapdragon processor based PC's but not interested with bloated Windows 11 going on the run.
I have not used an Apple MacBook laptop so I cannot say if I would like the experience over Windows 11. But since I have upgraded to Windows 11, it has become one of my favorite Windows Operating Systems. The seamless hardware and software integration is the best I have experienced ever for business, productivity and entertainment. I have over time migrated my various Windows and Android mobility products to Samsung Galaxy and the experience has been absolutely excellent. I now understand the Apple attraction of everything just working together seamlessly as I have with my Samsung Galaxy Book to Tab to Ear Buds to Watch to SmartMonitor to Smartphone and more. Samsung Galaxy makes me so much more productive with all the features, software and services offered. As of now I do not think I could ever leave the Samsung Galaxy line of products.
@@johnmartin8481 I completely agree with you on Samsung. I am an Android user since 2011 something, I still don't want to use an iPhone. I am trying to move off Windows 11. Alternatives are Mac and Linux. By the way how MS is forcing adverts and making all online for some reason makes me move toward Mac. Otherwise, of course Windows is good.
acquisition value? people who buy these laptops are 1st movers. Think all non pro labtops and mini pc will run arm in 2 years time. I compare arm windows against Chromebooks. It is perhaps the biggest competitor
oh thats easy; I'll stay with Apple, because windows is and always has been total garbage and now it total garbage spyware....;. one dedicated private Linux Debian Parrot OS, One dedicated UNIX OS, Two Apple systems and NO WINDOWS
I would not consider the new Snapdragon Windows Copilot PC as a replacement for my next purchase due to compatibility of hardware and software performance. I would consider the new Intel Lunar Lake series as my Windows PC replacement. If the early reviews of the Intel Lunar Lake Windows PCs are accurate, why would I ever consider a Snapdragon Windows PC? If battery life is a major requirement for purchase, I think Intel just put themselves back in the game.
It's important to realize that even though Microsoft has been working on arm for 7 years, they just now got hardware that got the ecosystem as a whole behind it. So it's really irrelevant cuz the previous hardware did not move the needle. Now that there's needle moving hardware, you will see the software catch up
I agree. If you just want your laptop to work and are not a techie, then steer clear of these. I am sure with time they will compete but at the moment too. Many negatives, and hopefully we will get better GPUs with the next generation. Intel seems the best choice for Windows only users and their new chips should flood the market soon. AMD would be next best. Alternatively if you are OS agnostic then MacBooks are far more advanced with ARM and offer the best for efficiency and performance per watt, and with hefty discounts they are similar in price to most X Elite laptops.
For battery life go for mac, if want productivity machine with decent battery life ryzen are the best choice. On the other hand if someone wants good looking crappy machine, then intel or snapdragon is definitely the way to go for now.
