Yes, I didn't think she would get that second one in. Such adorable creatures.❤️ Btw. I recently started feeding Squirrels who live in an area across the road from me. However, there's been no sign of them over the last couple of weeks. I wonder where they've gone? I live in the UK btw so it's Springtime now.

I love how each one approaches the food pile like it’s a nut based game of Jenga, trying to work out what the best & safest one to grab is 😄 Huey taking off after his runaway second nut was so funny & I loved the moment at the end where one was complaining to your Customer Services Manager, Kiara, about how the window was shut & the outside food had run out 😂 I’m away from home for a week & there are sadly no squirrels where I’m staying 😢 Thankfully, someone is looking out for my local lot in my absence, but even more than usual I’m grateful for you sharing the precious moments with your charming, beautiful crew. They’re all so adorable 🤗♥️🐿️

they always check if the nut is sealed. If it is they bury it, if not they eat it. They really know how to save for winter and not get greedy now. At least mine do.

Squirrels in the wild will spend the spring and summer caching nuts (stashing them in holes) for the winter months. Sometimes, if they know another squirrel is watching, they will dig a hole, pretend to put nuts in it and go find somewhere else to stash them. I wonder if that area under the bushes is a bunch of fake stash holes, since there are always others watching?

It's actually better to give them nuts in a shell because they cache them in the ground and in other hiding places. Squirrels can smell up to two feet under the earth and retrieve them later. It's all instinct. I have seen so many of my squirrels digging up nuts they previously buried. I even had one who used to pat the whole nuts into her nest in the tree. Of course, when you feed them nuts out of the shell they sit with you longer, so that's nice, too. Thank you for loving and feeding these adorable, intelligent little fluffballs! 🥰

They only find 25% of the nuts they hide, so it's a big waste if you only feed them nuts in shell, except if you live in a place where trees can grow. Also the discarded shells can cause problems with your neighbors.

I am so inspired by your generosity and kindness to your squirrel pals! I have a crew of my own that I dote on! However, nuts in shells are good for them. Squirrel teeth keep growing and gnawing on the nut shells is of great benefit to them. They keep their teeth filed down this way. Continue to share their antics- I loved your doughNUTS. I watched again, just to see Cutie at the end. Her little hopeful face at your window, and her happiness when she got the extra nut, melted my heart. She watched you so carefully from the windowsill when you got the nut for her. Love this channel. Where I use to live we had about five regular grey squirrels that I started feeding by hand. It was super therapeutic because I'd loss three pets, two dogs and a cat, in the space of about six months. When the last one was gone I was in a very dark place and these little critters really helped me out.

I could watch this all day! I feed squirrels and birds each day, but now in the spring we have a pair of geese each day and a pair of ducks. Only for a few weeks, but we love them! ❤
