I Don't Feel Like Praying | Ask Don 

Ignore the feelings, just pray. Our feeling can swing up and down depending on the circumstances we're in, feelings are unreliable, trust God and make it a habit to pray by faith, stay safe, Jesus loves you.

“Pray without ceasing” not “pray when you feel like it” So true!! As I grow more and more in my walk with the Lord, I am seeing that truly without faith it’s impossible to please God.

I found when I have no words I just give thanks and praise to Jesus. ✝️

It is as if eating food. We sometimes lose appetite, but we still eat because we know that we will feel weak when we do not eat. Same thing as prayer, we need to pray not because we feel like praying, but because we need it. 🙏🏻

When I wake up in the morning, I greeted everyone at home. I told them during breakfast how was my evening (did I sleep well, what dreams did I have, etc). Ask them what are their plans for today and what mine is. You know, God is like a family member. He is there. He's always there. But sometimes we just don't recognize him. So, if there are times when you don't feel the burning desire to pray to Him, then, why don't you just speak to Him as what you do to a close family member. Tell the Lord how was your night. Tell Him about the dreams that you'd just had. And, what are your plans for today.

Prayer is a discipline, just like exercise !! We pray not because we feel like it.

You can also praise him instead when you don't know what to do. 1 Peter 2:9

Amen brother. We can not rely on our feelings or emotions. If we do ...some of us will never pray or read our Bibles. We must discipline and buffet our bodies because the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. They are also against each other and wish to out strengthen the other. It's like exercise...who really wants to workout and feel the pain of stretching our muscles? Yet we all want the benefits that a good workout will give. Then workout your spiritual muscles everyday.

Amen Pastor, I sometimes wake up in the morning and i don't feel like praying but whenever i feel that way, it's the more that i pray to God.

I find it really helpful when I have my favorite Worship/Praise songs on my phone ready. Whenever I feel the weakness deep inside of me & I don't feel like doing anything even praying; I just play those songs as I sit or lay down listening & allow those beautiful melodies & words refresh, rejuvenate & re-energize my soul. When playing those beautiful songs I started singing along in my spirit & most of the times I end up crying. Some of my favourite songs are "Great is thy faithfulness, How great Thou art, Because He lives I can face tomorrow etc. God bless you all.

Praying is like you talk with God, praying is comunicate with God. I normally talk with God in my heart.

Amen, amen, a thousand times amen!!! We need to _persevere in prayer._ Good times or bad, our God needs to be the One to whom we run. We are to pour out our hearts before Him, our faithful Creator, and in doing so we acknowledge that He is above all else in our lives! Once that is established the things of this earth become less attractive to us, and He is increasingly our all in all 💗 Reading His word daily and letting each word sink in, praying for the Holy Spirt to fill us (and truly believing it can and will be so!) gradually draw us closer to Him. "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you". Our prayers may be feeble or short to begin with, but just having the perseverance to continue brings great pleasure to God, and I have found that a much deeper sense of His presence is found with each new prayer. Perseverance is important too because although He loves us unconditionally, our Father doesn't want us to be half hearted children, trying to pray one minute and then giving up the next and dipping back into the world. He wants to hear from us no matter what we've done or said or been through. To be depended upon so that we should be "lovers of God" and have a constant (though never perfect) relationship with Him. In this dark world, the bible says that in these days "men shall be lovers of pleasure and lovers of self, rather than lovers of God". How awful! And yet how shamefully true. I encourage whoever is reading this, and also myself, to ~Lean on God ~Commit your way unto Him ~Lean not unto your own understanding, but in ALL your ways, acknowledge Him, and He WILL make plain your paths!!!

For as long as we don't cease to breathe so don't we cease to pray. We give you all of the glory Lord Jesus.

When we live with our love ones, we don't need to always talk to each other. Sometimes, we just enjoy to having each other around. Just trust, at silent moment, he still with us. The best partner wants us listen too.

Thank God for the Holy spirit who intercede on our behalf. We don't know and feel to pray but He helps our weakness... Just open ur mouth and speak in the Holy spirit ...

Our Lord is faithful. When you are weak He is strong. If you know how much Jesus loves you to lay His life for you. Even your faith fails you...He will never fail you. If you have received the holy spirit just begin to worship him in the spirit. And go back to the days where the Lord has shown His faithfulness to you. And remind yourself just soak yourself in Jesus love. And that will bring you closer to him. God Bless🥰 and Amen🙌

Amen. I feel the same way too at times when i wake up & dont feel like praying but know i have to fellowship with the Lord before starting my day. Though the fire to pray is not there but i guaranttee you ones in the presence of the Almighty God, He stirs your heart with the desire to worship Him in spirit & in truth & before you know it, time has gone so fast in His prensence & your day will never be like any other days, for the Lord will be with you He will fill you heart & mind with His PEACE, COMFORT & JOY.

Thanks Sir for blessing lives for decades. @Lydia, I feel you a lot; and I just want to share an adaptation of something, a one time LFC Pastor of mine - Pastor Oluwole Samuel, once taught us, viz:- If you are genuinely born again > you are married to Jesus > if you are married to Jesus > you have a relationship with him > if you have a relationship with him, to cultivate that relationship, you have to converse with your spouse every day > the conversation will take several forms, viz > 1.asking for directions on an issue. 2.asking for help, strength or grace for you to do something(s). 3.asking for help for others. 4.asking for blessings for your church / people in your church who need help. 5.asking for others to be saved. 6.praying for issues in your neighbourhood. 7.praying for your country. 8.praying for ......... the list is endless. Sometimes, just getting the right prayer point, motivates you! Lastly, in a relationship, if that relationship will thrive you have to talk with your spouse {God}every day, whether you "feel" like or not; and as you talk with him, you realize you actually begin to feel like talking with him! Also the more you talk with him, the more you should practice listening to him - that two-way street prayer is da' bomb! I've seen and heard thingsssssss in the place of prayer that after a while you're always excited thirst-ing: I wonder what I'll see or hear today?!?! :;) He doesn't speak like a chatter box though! He speaks and shows things in a way that is kind of measured! It's a journey! Enjoy it. And keep it real with him. I'll give you an example; don't laugh! Sometimes I pray and go: "whoa! Father I saw a hot chick today, what are you saying about her?" And he'll respond, just be spiritually sharp! You'll pick it. Trust me, God is freaking awesome!

When I feel like I cannot pray and weak..,,,I straightly go to God and kneel and say " I can't pray Lord..,why am I so weak..?" Then Holy spirit reminded me that even this is a prayer to God😄😄😄and really really He cleared my way and doubts and prooved me that He's with me...

One thing I wanted to add is when the fire does stir try doubling or tripping down on your prayer length and fervency during those times than you are now. I have found when I press in even more mightly at those stirred up times then praying more of the "without ceasing" type prayer happens more "naturally" throughout my day.
