Girl your messing with my fat intake, but I think I will try this. Especially since I’m diabetic and over weight lol. FYI: you can soak the chicken in a vinegar water for 20 minutes and then rinse it and Pat dry. It WILL NOT be any more tart than with the limes. Saves money. I use my limes for juice and salsas. Also, I use a oil spritz bottle. You can evenly coat it better. I have made chicken like this before lol. I thought it was different, but your right about it tasting as good as deep fried. Have a blessed day
When I don't have a lemon or lime, I use some white vinegar and a dash of salt to clean the chicken. Then I rinse the chicken with cold water. Pat dry and add my seasonings!
Chile! I recently saw this thread where women were going back and forth about whether chicken even needed to be rinsed! Many seemed to feel you should just take it out the pack and go straight to seasoning and cooking it. They say that the heat takes all the harmful bacteria out. 😱 Oh no, no. It is first getting thoroughly washed in lime, lemon and salt and rinsed thoroughly!
@@oceanlover2426 I have ALWAYS rinsed my chicken well. Do you think using lime, lemon or vinegar affects the taste at all? If so which one is the best for not affecting chicken? I wanna use one of these with salt, instead of just plain filtered water. Thanks in advance 🥰
I am a You Tube recipe junkie. I have watched hundreds and hundreds of recipes over the last 4 years (and have made many). This is one of the best I've seen and in particular I think her presentation was excellent. Right down to business. No extraneous blah, bah, blah.
You can use wasted frying oil for home heating (if you have an oil-drip insert for your chimney). Or... you can recycle for your diesel engines to use as fuel.
@@The_Timinator I'm glad you did! Once we have land, I'm going to get a fryer. I don't want it in our apartment. I've actually tried her method, in the video before. Not my favorite method.
@@StormCaller5 I actually have a Presto Fry Daddy, Cool Daddy or something like that ($30-$35) from Walmart..anyway it has a lid, it's compact like a small Slow Cooker and it doesn't make a mess of the Kitchen, the older you get (Me) you have so many "Christmas Gifts", storage becomes a problem, every Season there's a "New Gadget" that somebody's going to give you... having a built in lid on a Deep Fryer is AWESOME, just drop your stuff in and close the lid...the BEST French Fries are frozen and when you fill your basket and drop them into the Oil be ready to close that lid, the sound of the Ice and Oil fighting is quite impressive...all the kids in the house will come running wondering what that sound is...then they will ALWAYS know "French Fries !!!!!!"
@sarahlarson1082 The women in my family always washed the chicken before cooking and I do too, but it really is not necessary since water doesn't kill germs. Cooking the chicken is enough to make it safe to eat because the heat kills the germs.
The first thing I noticed is how clean your kitchen is and I love this! I also wash my chicken and the sink right after. I’m going to try this recipe, it looks so good. Thank you.
I stopped washing my chicken but I don’t like not doing it lol. Love using the lime! I think I’m gonna go back to washing! Thank you for a great recipe! Edited to add: Thank you also for using your hands!!! Some folks on YT act like they can’t touch raw meat! 🤭 Like Ina Garten says, your hands are your best tools!
"If you ain't sneezing 🤧 , you ain't seasoning" 😅 love watching you bc the food be on point, new techniques for me and the quotes lol 😂. Thank you for another good one.
it's the cleaning of the sink that got me. you must have "used your spirit" to tell you we really appreciate little things like that. Cleanliness is Godliness. I'm subbing!
@@CamirrasKitchen - I burst out laughing when you said that. You've got a great personality and the recipe was great too. I live in Memphis, so "You do you, boo" made me laugh as well. 🙂
Hello Camirra from Australia 🌻 First time I have seen your video and really love how you wash your chicken and keep🎉 such a beautiful clean kitchen. I also always wash chicken thoroughly and dry it with paper towels and scrub my sink after too. I was brought up that kitchen hygiene kept us healthy and love to see it being practised. Look forward to seeing more from you. Thank you and best wishes. ❤💐
I don't even use my air fryer any more because I don't get that deep fried look and taste that I was hoping for so I'll definitely try this recipe with chicken wings, my favorite.
You got a sub here when you cleaned the chicken and especially when you cleaned the sink! You hit it out the park with me…Great job! I can’t wait to try! God bless you and your loved ones. 🙏
It's amazing to me that ppl dont wash their sinks, at least daily. I wash down EVERYTHING in my kitchen daily, no matter what. I think it's gross not to!
This is a similar recipe I have been using for years, but it was called Foot Stomping Fried Chicken: I used Rice Krispies and put it in an empty bread bag...I had my kids take turns stomping the Rice Krispies. There was no Panko available 40 years ago! They loved helping me and loved eating the chicken! I sure like the updated device for breading the chicken and the use of Olive Oil!
@TheDivineFemedianTarot I was thinking if doing that too as her chicken looked fantastic and I'd really like to try it. But what would you suggest using to substitute for the flour?
Before I started to watch black people cooking, I just rinsed and washed my chicken off with clean water. I am so happy I got the tips about using lime, lemon, vinegar, or even just salt. I usually rub it with salt and wash it off very well. And yeah... White folks don't do that and it drives me crazy. I need to try this with my own hot sauce I made from my garden grown chilies 🌶🍗❤
I’m white and I don’t know anyone that doesn’t wash their children and pork before cooking. One reason is bon slivers but with chicken it’s can be feather remnants and other things. It would be gross not to rinse it off. I don’t think it needs vinegar. That would kill germs but the ringing should be enough and cooking.
Me too! Why is it that our white grammas didn't teach us this? I think my Gramma used vinegar? But I was so little back then I'm not really sure..... I usually got shoo'd outa the kitchen cuz Gramma didn't want me "under her feet". LOL
From Drexel University - "Chicken has already been washed. Today’s manufacturing cleans the chicken, so there is no filth, feathers, or anything else on it that needs to be washed off. Poultry may have a coating of water and protein: this gets cooked off -- or you can remove it with a clean paper towel and then wash your hands."
I always wash my chicken! For a while, the store bought chicken had a bleach smell. I love the idea of using the lime! 🎉 Love your beautiful hair. 🥰 🐔 🌶
I don't think meat needs to be rinsed (I'm in the UK so maybe practices are different here), but if you do do it, you must wash the sink and your hands after or you are just spreading bacteria around. The lime/ vinegar etc will kill some bacteria, I'm just not sure it's the same as proven modern food hygiene practices. I do think this youtuber is very hygienic in general though, and don't want to detract from that. Her recipes are great too 😊😊😊
I tried this and it turned out Great! I didn't want to use as much spice as you but I found out - You have to use a lot because when it's in the coating, you really need more than you you'd think. Thank you so much for posting this. I'll be making this again. I love fried chicken but i don't eat a lot of fried foods, so your recipe is PERFECT!!
Gotta try this! The only change I would make would be to leave out the salt. Tony’s has a lot of salt. Or you could use Stale Cracker’s Cajun “Two Step” and add the salt.
I never thought to put the bullion in for extra flavor - thanks!!!! The double dip is the secret - I usually just do a single. Thank you for the hints - you have a lovely way of presenting!
I think she is spot on with how she cleans the chicken, sink, and utensils. I do the same. She cracks me up with her measuring. I never use anything to measure. Love the content! Subbed the channel
Lol, y'all know deep fried is deep fried. This ain't going to get deep fried out the oven. And for those who worry about the oil, Reuse it! There's nothing wrong with the oil. You can use that oil up to three times as long as you put it in a container and store it in a cool dry place. What's the oil is done take the container and put it in the trash. I have metal container. I put the oil in the container. I put the container in the refrigerator. The oil solidifies. I take it out and I said it on the counter. After about 30 minutes at room temp the oil loosens up from the sides of the containers. I get a trash bag. I put the whole block of oil in there. And then I throw that thing in the outside garbage can for them to come and pick it up. I don't eat fried foods that much. But what I do chicken it's going in a Fry Daddy 😂 But, this is a good recipe for oven-baked chicken.
I love a clean cook! I,m gonna subscribe. I can,t stand to eat out. Found 2 flys in our food the last time we ate out,and i mean the last time. Love your recipes
@@joyj.842 I use a good size bowl with a lid, a gentle shake or two, not too much or you will start removing your breading! I do a few pieces at a time, I prefer this method especially doing fish filets!
I'm definetly trying this recipe! I love to cook and I fry a lot of things too, but I dont have a thermometer and I suck at frying bone in chicken so this is a perfect solution.
I love your fish coating tub and oil sprayer. As for the fish I'd prefer the single coated. I've never considered mayo and mustard base, but will definitely give it a try next time. And I especially appreciate cooks that are cleanliness conscience in the kitchen. Thanks for the tips! ❤😊
That looks so good. I'm definitely going to try it. My youngest daughter is obsessed with Tony Chachere's creole seasoning. She has been since the first time I made her homemade chicken nuggets. So I know she'll like this!
@mettamorph4523 not at all. you drizzle a little oil into your bowl of panko then stir it together. All the panko gets lightly oiled. Then you just coat your chicken as normal. It is a more even crisp, and less mess and no wasted oil by drizzling it on the chicken when it is already breaded and trying to smear it around.
This sounds so simple and I'm definitely going to try this except I'm going to use coconut oil cut with MCT oil. That gives them more of a flavor profile.
I plan to make it in an air fryer. I like your use of the breader and steamer, but my apartment kitchen allows for no more "gadgets" so I'll do the flouring in a hefty bag and steam my veggies the old fashion way -with boiling water and a steamer insert. Thank you!
I haven't got to the 3 min mark and I already LOVE this lady..lol As soon as she washed the chicken with lemon slices and THEN cleaned the sink afterwards...she had a fan!!!😂
Looove the way it smells.... I'll have to find the first chicken seasoning... btw, those were definitely at least a tablespoon of those seasonings which totally fine with me. Loooove white pepper.
I’m gonna try cooking my chicken this way. My apartment stove (electric) is dangerous. Turn the temp down and it goes way up for about 1 minute. Last year, I deep fried chicken and the oil temp went super high without my knowledge so when I dropped the chicken, I got splattered on the chest & belly. I now have 2 pretty big scars. I don’t fry anything anymore. I’ve been using my oven for a number of dishes I’d normally cook on the stovetop.
It’s been noted for chicken, do not wash your chicken water splashes all over. I know it sounds like a dumb idea, but I followed the rule by the book and it all works out perfectly.
I tried "oven fried" chicken ONCE. Didn't like it. But after watching your method I know this is The One I will be using continually. Thank you for showing me a much better recipe Camirra!!
I cannot wait to try this recipe. The only changes I have to make is no Cajun, etc as my hubby is recovering from esophageal cancer. As for touching the chicken - will not bother me. I am an operating room RN For years. But everyone has to wash their hands and clean out the sink, handles, etc. after preparing. Thank you!
