Please Note: If you are cooking in batches. Let your skillet cool completely drain the fat from the chicken and wipe clean. This usually takes 2-3 minutes. Sorry forgot to mention it in the video! ❤
This is unbelievable! This woman is a treasure! Cooking fried chicken using the natural oils from the chicken with no batter or bread crumbs...pure genius!
Yes I have been doing chicken that way for awhile now but I still enjoy some flour and seasonings. It's very economic because not having oil and flour usually means not having fried chicken for dinner. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us. If you get home from work but forgot the cooking oil, don't fret.
She’s great, but NO! Not her own cooking show. BECAUSE that will ruin her charm and charisma! I’ll become work and stress. She’s fine right here on RU-vid, where we are invited into her warm house; not a glitzy studio or set. I say have her as a guess on a cooking show, and she can promote her RU-vid channel!
Miss Pam, OMGoodness, you taught this old bird a new trick! I never have liked frying foods, being married 45 years to a southern gentleman, tonight, after seeing your video last night, I made the first pan of "fried chicken" ever in my life. All I can say is THANK YOU, my Husband thanks you, and I am pleased to announce you are NEVER to old to learn new things! We were thrilled with the crunchy outside texture, and the juicy chicken inside, it was a win/win situation!! You are a Blessing! Thank you sincerely!
What a thoroughly enjoyable cooking show love Pam what a terrific person and cook she makes healthy dishes that's what even better and no oil Yes she is a true gift
My son ONLY uses this method to make our "fried chicken" now. Last night's dinner was killer. I'm so glad I shared this with him. He's a subscriber to your channel now too. Thank you!!! You are the best Ms. Pam.
@@CookingAtPamsPlaceYou were made to be a teacher! And I LOVE the simplicity of this recipe. The fatty skin is the best part!! As a Carnivore I approve! It's entirely brilliant!!! 👏
My Mother was from Alabama and this is exactly how she made her chicken! She called it "Broasted chicken." And "See y'all soon, the Good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise," was our Southern good-bye! Thank you kindly for the wonderful and precious memories! 💜
@@Kim-ev8pr you are absolutely correct! When I was in high school, I worked at a Broasted Chicken place, and we cooked the chicken in pressure cookers. However, you do NOT correct an Alabama Mama. 😉
You have got to be kidding me! That's all I have to do to have fried chicken? No more oil or flower or breading or seasoning concoctions? Well, guess what? That's going to be dinner one or maybe several days this week, and many times in weeks thereafter. Wow! Pam, thank you so much for showing us this! Oh, by the way, your facial expressions when eating the food you make are priceless! It's as if you are saying, "This chicken is so good" it's gonna make me walk on my eyebrows! 😂😂
😂😂 yep! That’s all you gotta do lol. If you cook in batches let your skillet cool completely and wipe clean in between each batch. This should only take a few minutes. Thanks so much!
That’s amazing. Works good for drumsticks as well? Also how up to date is your ‘wishlist’ on Amazon? I’m not rich but there were some choices I could buy for you. ☺️
Thank you Pam for this wondrous informative video!!! An ‘aha that makes sense because the chicken has it’s own oil’ moment popped into my head as soon as it started sizzling! One of those times that you wonder why you hadn’t thought of this before when you see someone else doing it! Thank you for inspiring and sharing, both cooking and gardening! I’m a new viewer and you’re so appreciated!!!!
I tried it, but unfortunately, my non-stick skillet was not non-stick. Nevertheless, the chicken was delicious. I will try in my seasoned cast iron skillet, and if the chicken sticks again I will seek a better non-stick skillet. I like that the chicken was not greasy at all! Oh my goodness! Many thanks, Ms. Pam.
Pam, I made this fried chicken and I love it! I have never liked my own fried chicken, but this is the easiest and best I have made EVER! I user just salt, pepper & red pepper flakes for a little zing, but it came out perfect!
You just saved the world thousands of calories-thank you Pam. And can we just say Amen to your camera work and your editing. You make it look so easy, and that’s why you are a boss.
I tried this recipe for dinner tonight and there was just one problem: stove temperature. We have one of those glass top stoves and medium (5 out of 9 on the dial) on that thing is like high on other stoves. I tried medium-high heat as Pam said in this video, and after the first 10 minutes under the lid the chicken was almost burned. I had to turn it down to half to cook the back half, and after that was nicely browned it was still raw in the middle, so I had to turn it down to 2 for about another 10 minutes to finish it off. If I try this again I'll have to start it at 3 or 4 on the dial to follow the cook times. It was tasty, though. I just used pepper and chipotle powder.
I agree! Medium high is too high, it burned the top of my chicken, there was too much smoke and grease splatter, I don't think I want to ever do this again!!! Thank God the smoke detector didn't go off!!!
Thank you Pam for bringing back a memory. When my husband and I were having our babies as a young couple, I found myself being without flour or anything to cover up my chicken with so I will cook it just like you did tonight. My children love this Chicken and so did my husband. It shows that you don’t necessarily need a lot of ingredients or a lot of skill to make a really tasty and healthy meal. Thank you again.
Ms. Pam my son uses this recipe since you first posted it. We eat a lot of chicken thighs. Yum yum yum. He went away for a few days and made some "not sure how they will heat up." Omg my convection oven heated them up like they just came out of the pan. Bless you Ms. Pam. Subscriber for life ❤ ❤❤
I am cooking this right now😊 UPDATE: The taste was amazing, more concentrated than oven frying. Very important to cut the flesh side to flatten out for even cooking. My husband loved it.
I tried your recipe for the no oil fried chicken on Saturday and the only complaint I got was WHY DIDNT I MAKE MORE??? Pam it is delicious. Easy seasoning, easy on the budget, great for cook time. Keep these great ideas coming! (PS I'm making it again tonight for dinner!)
This lady seems so nice. I would come give her a great big hug. She doesn't have to win me over. I've watched a couple of her videos and you know, the way to a man's heart.
Pam you are in a cooking category all by yourself! This recipe will change cooking fried chicken forever 😊 I’ve told all my friends they are missing out not watching your channel. Blessings & keep bringing new creative, delicious recipes and cooking techniques.
Oh my goodness! I made this today and it was amazing! I love to cook and bake - my kitchen is my lab❤ When I saw your video showing that all you need is the skin of the chicken to fry on top of the stove, I had to try it! It was crunchy, flavorful, juicy, and above all - fully cooked! Thank you Miss Pam, please don't stop making these helpful videos. 🌹
I made it today. It came out great. It's very simple. I only eat thighs and will cook them this way forever (except for a stew). I am 63 years old and a fairly good cook. I learned something new. Thank you.
I'm on batch 2 now, as you speak, Ms. Pam! I can't wait to taste it and my husband is impressed! Now he keeps walking through the kitchen saying, "Oh my goodness" 😄
Okay I've watched this video three times I've gone through the transcript and I've written everything out on paper so I can follow along when I make it. It looks so good and I want my chicken to be as perfect as yours because I think your chicken was perfect.😊 I hope it'll work just as good on an electric oven. You are an amazing woman😊❤❤
That turned out absolutely glorious, Pam. When I was finishing my undergrad, I took a course called "The Science of Cooking." This recipe reminds me so much on how cooking is a blend of science, art, and love all melted together to create something wonderful. It's great to see you doing well, Pam! Thank you for the great content 🙏 🤩😋
Aaawww yes that is a very good way to put because it is all of those wrapped in a package. And thank you so much Claudia for you awesome support! 🙏🏽❤️❤️
This is how my grandma would make - and yes, delicious and crunchy! 😋....I realized what my problem has been - I've not dried chicken enough. Thank you for sharing this.... 🥰
I'm cooking this right now, it smells HEAVENLY! Ms. Pam I wanted to say my momma used to say your closing statement. Your eyes are so similar. God bless you, so happy I found your channel ❤️❤️
I saw this post and it looked so good I went out and bought a ceramic nonstick skillet. I am a cast iron user also. This no flour, no oil, no oven chicken is so good! I felt some kind of way when you said only use salt and pepper. However, I followed your recipe and it was delicious. I will definitely be cooking this again. Thank you.
It was meant to be!! Last night I took out a pack of chicken thighs to thaw overnight. I was going to make butter chicken & potatoes over basmati, but the universe is trying to tell me something and I think I'm going to listen! It's going to be an early dinner tonight! Thank you so much Pam! ❤😊
Are you kidding me! No more soaking in buttermilk, then batter then fry! And I’m sure healthier. There’s just one thing Pam. Make some gravy with those drippings and mashed potatoes. Then let me know what time dinner is and I’ll be right over! Lol! So delicious. Thanks for all your great recipes Pam 🐓🐓🐓💕
I doubted Pam on this recipe. I bought chicken thighs and I followed Pam's direction exactly and I was thinking it’s not going to work and why did I even consider it. Well, was I wrong- it was delicious. Anyone that I talked to today, I told them about it. Thank you, Pam.
Made them tonight in my big cast iron pan and they were amazing. They came out just like you promised and my son tore them up. This method is fantastic!
You know, this makes allotta sense. Thighs are part of the fatty areas on a chicken, so you really are frying with the fat from the chicken naturally. Can't wait to use this method. Thank you Pam!! Hugs to you for sharing your wisdom❤❤❤
@@sookie4195 I'm in love and admiration of all the diverse groups of human. However, I appreciate someone promoting healthier dishes and cooking in my kind hood. I'm one of the 4 out of 5 weight issue. Asian women don't have this stat.
I love how she says, "Let me know in the comments if you are going to make this dish" then takes another bite. Well YES MAAM! I SURE AM! You betcha I am gonna make me some fried chicken just like Miss Pam did here! My mouth is watering!
I am 66 and have NEVER fried chicken without any oil. Girl!! R u kidding me? No way! “Lord have mercy” I will be frying my chicken 🍗 this way, next time for sure. Thank u sista sista. Love and appreciation! ! Yes ma’am!
Your soul, energy and your whole aura reminds me of back in the days in the 80s of a lady named grandma K, that used to make food for all of us children sometimes when we used to hang out or parents work late nights. I love your energy and I look forward to continuing to support your channel. You’re timeless and wish we had more females. Queens and mothers like you around the way like old times.
OH MY GOODNESS! THIS WAS AMAZING! This will now be my "Go To"!!! I was thinking I'd miss my spices but this is so favorable, it needs NOTHING but the salt & pepper and a knife & fork (until it cools) in case you want to eat it with your fingers. Thanks soooo much! God bless you!
My family taught me to cook brilliantly. The elders are gone. But not, they're teaching me more through you, your brilliance. Blessings. Sending Light and Love...
Thank you Pam for this video on chicken. I will be trying soon because I don't want to use oil, etc. I will be watching for more lessons as I love your demeanor, so wonderful!
Yes, I tried this years ago and yes you don’t need any oil! I didn’t think it was a big deal but a lot of people are really surprised that you can fry chicken without oil and a batter! Only thing I do differently is put my seasonings on the chicken before I cook it! Delicious! Thank you for sharing!
I was speechless while watching this.....BRAVO to you Miss Pam!! Love my chicken thighs and will most definitely be trying this method. I also say "God's willing" because that is what my grandmother used to say because it is HIS will.
Pam you are a true angel. You remind me so much of my beautiful grandmother by the way you speak and gentle way you appear to be. I just love the first bite facial expressions. It's like you went into an out of this world food trance.
I'm now vegan, but if I ever need to fry chicken for a guest....this will be my new method. Never seen chicken fried this way... On top of the stove? 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 You did that Ms Pam!
I made this with drumsticks because that was what I had. And I dry brined them for about 8 hours in my fridge. They were absolutely delicious, and I thank you for this recipe.
I'm a recent bypass patient and was looking for healthier diet and cooking options, thanks for this recipe as well as the one for flour less gravy. Keep them coming!
First off,I love your recipes and channel. I had to tell you that I'm Puerto Rican and my mom has made chicken this way all my life. When I married my husband, from North Carolina,I learned the flour way. I prefer without. I thank you for all your tips and ideas. Your hands are blessed, and I just have to say,Thank you again. You probably won't even read this
Ma'am!!! You totally understated how delicious this chicken would be. I made 4 pieces and ate 2 before I caught myself😅 oops! I made it exactly as you stated and I'll never fry chicken again. My arteries thank you👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you Pam. Great video! I can’t wait to try this. As Diabetic I try to minimize carbohydrates and avoid Fried crispy chicken that I truly love. This will make my day. Thanks again.
😂 !!!!! I JUST googled if there was another way to make chicken without oil because I ran out. Then this notification popped up. I'm so glad I subbed already cause you're definitely here with the know how lol. I'm so ready to watch this video. Thank you🌹...my kids are gonna love you after I tell them you had their back with the chicken 🐔🍗
Thank you so many people really don't understand how to cook or the idea of even how to begin to cook a good meal. I've been cooking all my life but I've learned a lot from you and thank you so much.
I am back! I only have one thing to say about my dinner: OH MY GOODNESS: The chicken was absolutely delicious! My husband also loved it and he said put it in the rotation please. So we plan to have it fairly often at least ever other week. I do believe it is faster than a sheet pan dinner.
I can’t believe this I’m 69? Years old and NEVER knew about this. I haven’t had fried chicken in a long time….but things are gonna change. THANK YOU SWEET PAM ❤️🤗
I just finished dinner and I used your method for frying the chicken and it was delicious! Turned out exactly the way you said it would. Crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. Thank you! This is my new way of frying chicken ,)
Pam it's cooking again. Omg❤ my son loves this recipe. He's made it at least a dozen times. We love it. OMG my house smells so dang good. Making it with green beans and flavored rice tonight. THANK YOU FOR THIS AWESOME RECIPE! ONLY WAY WE DO IT NOW.
My oh my oh my... That looked amazing and so easy to prepare. Just needs some creamy whipped potatoes and stringbeans. This is going to happen this week! Thank you, Ms Pam!!! 😋 😊
Pam is literally saving lives with her recipe, for all those who eat fried chicken up to to 3 times a week. It's so bad for us, actually increases Cancer risk by alot. Thanks for this video Pam, you go girl🌻
@@johnquillan4626That is incorrect. Animal fat is one of the best fats. It's seed oils that are highly processed and inflammatory to the body. Loaded with omega 6.
Thank you for sharing this recipe with us. I tried it today, followed your instructions exactly except for adding some salt-free Mrs Dash type seasoning. My chicken thighs came out perfectly! My husband said they were good twice! 😄 I don't usually comment, but I want to take a moment to thank you for the great content on this channel. Your thorough reporting, excellent delivery, and pleasant presentation is appreciated!
Thank you again. I want that chicken! I never knew it could be so easy. Also thank you for the link about your skillet. I learned so much today. You are such a joy.
Mama Pam, you bad.. My Granny would fry her chicken like this, but i didn't quit catch it, but you have taught me something once again with your sweef spirit, keep allowing GOD to yse you and your kitchen...Yessssss💃🏻
Okay, that technique is full of science and healthy cooking. I’m going to cook my chicken that way from now on. Thank you for teaching us something new.
Thank you SO MUCH for this! I am a low carb cooker so I stopped using regular flour 7 years ago and NOTHING I have tried get’s me that “crunch” when frying larger pieces of chicken and I love my thighs! ❤ Can’t wait to try this
@CookingAtPamsPlace, I just made this, and it was the STAR of the meal! Absolutely delicious & very juicy! I was making Oven Roasted Garlic Chicken, which requires the same ‘drying out thighs’ procedure. Therefore, I only withheld two to fry using your method. Bae-Beeeee! When I tell you, I should’ve fried all nine pieces. I’m impressed. I can’t believe all these years of frying chicken the wrong way. All the messiness of grease & flour everywhere. The clean up was so simple using this method. I stopped frying chicken and began baking a long time ago. Now, this is it for me. I’ll be doing this method for now on. Quick, fast, and easy! Thank you.
Before my AirFryer days I did fry my chicken without any batter or bread crumbs but never no oil. We thank you Momma Pam for sharing this with us. Yes ma’am I will be trying this technique!❤
"I know ya heard the crunch"....Ms. Pam I love you so much, even if I didn't think you are an awesome cook(I KNOW YOU ARE!), I would still watch your channel bc you are so full of life and love. Thank you so much for this, it looks delicious. Now I'm gonna have to try that! You're so smart!!
Thank you for this video & your way of frying chicken. I'm pretty sure this is the way that my late aunt used to fry her chicken. And everybody says how good she used to make fried chicken was. That it wasn't like anybody else's fried chicken. I believe this is the way. Thank you so much for this video. I feel like my aunt's spirit led me to watch this video. ❤❤❤❤❤
