Please Note: If you are cooking in batches. Let your skillet cool completely drain the fat from the chicken and wipe clean. This usually takes 2-3 minutes. Sorry forgot to mention it in the video! ❤

Yes I have been doing chicken that way for awhile now but I still enjoy some flour and seasonings. It's very economic because not having oil and flour usually means not having fried chicken for dinner. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us. If you get home from work but forgot the cooking oil, don't fret.

She’s great, but NO! Not her own cooking show. BECAUSE that will ruin her charm and charisma! I’ll become work and stress. She’s fine right here on RU-vid, where we are invited into her warm house; not a glitzy studio or set. I say have her as a guess on a cooking show, and she can promote her RU-vid channel!

I never have liked frying foods, being married 45 years to a southern gentleman, tonight, after seeing your video last night, I made the first pan of "fried chicken" ever in my life. All I can say is THANK YOU, my Husband thanks you, and I am pleased to announce you are NEVER to old to learn new things! My Mother was from Alabama and this is exactly how she made her chicken! She called it "Broasted chicken." And "See y'all soon, the Good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise," was our Southern good-bye! Thank you kindly for the wonderful and precious memories! 💜

You have got to be kidding me! That's all I have to do to have fried chicken? No more oil or flower or breading or seasoning concoctions? Well, guess what? That's going to be dinner one or maybe several days this week, and many times in weeks thereafter. Wow! Pam, thank you so much for showing us this! 😂😂 yep! That’s all you gotta do lol. If you cook in batches let your skillet cool completely and wipe clean in between each batch. This should only take a few minutes. Thanks so much!

I tried it, but unfortunately, my non-stick skillet was not non-stick. Nevertheless, the chicken was delicious. I will try in my seasoned cast iron skillet, and if the chicken sticks again I will seek a better non-stick skillet. I like that the chicken was not greasy at all! Oh my goodness! Pam, I made this fried chicken and I love it! I have never liked my own fried chicken, but this is the easiest and best I have made EVER! I user just salt, pepper & red pepper flakes for a little zing, but it came out perfect!

I tried this recipe for dinner tonight and there was just one problem: stove temperature. We have one of those glass top stoves and medium (5 out of 9 on the dial) on that thing is like high on other stoves. I tried medium-high heat as Pam said in this video, and after the first 10 minutes under the lid the chicken was almost burned. I had to turn it down to half to cook the back half, and after that was nicely browned it was still raw in the middle, so I had to turn it down to 2 for about another 10 minutes to finish it off. If I try this again I'll have to start it at 3 or 4 on the dial to follow the cook times. It was tasty, though. I just used pepper and chipotle powder.

I agree! Medium high is too high, it burned the top of my chicken, there was too much smoke and grease splatter, I don't think I want to ever do this again!!! Thank God the smoke detector didn't go off!!!

Thank you Pam for bringing back a memory. When my husband and I were having our babies as a young couple, I found myself being without flour or anything to cover up my chicken with so I will cook it just like you did tonight. My children love this Chicken and so did my husband. It shows that you don’t necessarily need a lot of ingredients or a lot of skill to make a really tasty and healthy meal. Thank you again.

Ms. Pam my son uses this recipe since you first posted it. We eat a lot of chicken thighs. Yum yum yum. He went away for a few days and made some "not sure how they will heat up." Omg my convection oven heated them up like they just came out of the pan. Bless you Ms. Pam. Subscriber for life ❤ ❤❤

I am cooking this right now😊 UPDATE: The taste was amazing, more concentrated than oven frying. Very important to cut the flesh side to flatten out for even cooking. My husband loved it.

I tried your recipe for the no oil fried chicken on Saturday and the only complaint I got was WHY DIDNT I MAKE MORE??? Pam it is delicious. Easy seasoning, easy on the budget, great for cook time. Keep these great ideas coming! (PS I'm making it again tonight for dinner!)

Oh my goodness! I made this today and it was amazing! I saw this post and it looked so good I went out and bought a ceramic nonstick skillet. I am a cast iron user also. This no flour, no oil, no oven chicken is so good! You know, this makes allotta sense. Thighs are part of the fatty areas on a chicken, so you really are frying with the fat from the chicken naturally. Can't wait to use this method. Thank you Pam!! Hugs to you for sharing your wisdom❤❤❤

OH MY GOODNESS! THIS WAS AMAZING! This will now be my "Go To"!!! I was thinking I'd miss my spices but this is so favorable, it needs NOTHING but the salt & pepper and a knife & fork (until it cools) in case you want to eat it with your fingers. Thanks soooo much! God bless you!

Yes, I tried this years ago and yes you don’t need any oil! I didn’t think it was a big deal but a lot of people are really surprised that you can fry chicken without oil and a batter! Only thing I do differently is put my seasonings on the chicken before I cook it! Delicious! Thank you for sharing!

I made this with drumsticks because that was what I had. And I dry brined them for about 8 hours in my fridge. They were absolutely delicious, and I thank you for this recipe.

I am back! I only have one thing to say about my dinner: OH MY GOODNESS: The chicken was absolutely delicious! My husband also loved it and he said put it in the rotation please. So we plan to have it fairly often at least ever other week. I do believe it is faster than a sheet pan dinner.

Doubtful on saving lives.. It's fried In poultry fat which is one of the worst fats to consume. Crispy and fast!

@CookingAtPamsPlace, I just made this, and it was the STAR of the meal! Absolutely delicious & very juicy! I was making Oven Roasted Garlic Chicken, which requires the same ‘drying out thighs’ procedure. Therefore, I only withheld two to fry using your method. Bae-Beeeee! When I tell you, I should’ve fried all nine pieces. I’m impressed. I can’t believe all these years of frying chicken the wrong way. All the messiness of grease & flour everywhere. The clean up was so simple using this method. I stopped frying chicken and began baking a long time ago. Now, this is it for me. I’ll be doing this method for now on. Quick, fast, and easy! Thank you.
