18:51 You don't need pumps until the game literally tells you you do. Pipe systems balance the fluid between all segments perfectly and instantaneously, as such they have infinite throughput. They are however limited in size and will arbitrarily stop working once that limit is exceeded unless you segment it into 2 separate systems with a pump, which can "only" transport 1200 fluid per second.
So funny thing with the way biters work, they only expand if they're revealed. pollution loads chunks it expands into, however, if no biters are within your pollution cloud, no attacks will be sent, and therefore, if you keep your pollution area clear of nests, and have no bases in your revealed chunks, no biters will exist to expand. you can effectively have a defenseless base if you adopt this strategy
Reason why people usually keep the trees alive. To absorb the pollution. So each time he removes trees he makes it worse for himself later down the line.
this is also, why the green modules in miners are so strong. Also, early red ammo is a newbie trap as its production causes more pollution as the killing of biters remove
Dunno if you're seasoned Factorio player, but the main early game strategy to fight biters is to destroy nests before they get covered by pollution cloud. I tend to recon area as soon as I get a car and block bottlenecks far enough with small "pillboxes". It tends to be easier with updated worldgen.
You don’t actually need to place pumps to get fluids to move if I remember correctly. Also trees are actually pretty important to keep around especially when starting out. They absorb pollution before biters do and thus prevent extra attacks so they can lighten the load from your defenses
you had a question about the pipes, when you hover your mouse over them there's a stat called pipe extension or something, basically you only need to build a pump every 320 units, and the game will tell you if your current pipeline stretches for more than that
Since you asked last time. Please show more gameplay and do not cut stuff out so heavily. I know i can watch the VOD but please try to find a better middle ground. You are cutting out a lot currently. Thanks
The funny thing is that the trees are actually his ally right now because they absorb pollution and is probably the only reason the biters haven't completely destroyed the base.
He is still playing satisfactory.. He was streaming it yesterday I believe.. Factorio, is just much faster.. Takes only a few hours to get enough content for a vid, where satisfactory could take multiple days.. My guess is a satisfactory video will be out in the next 2 or 3 days.. 💚
Can I recommend getting a rocket launcher, super effective against bugs and nests but is locked behind oil and blue science, but believe me, a worth while investment
Please do more satisfactory , your builds are my greatest inspiration and I’ve watched very of your satisfactory 1.0 videos ! Please don’t switch to factorio
In mid-2025 clearly you need to play Factorio Space Age Pyanodons Space Exploration mod... its only gonna take at least 1000 hours to do it. Probably more than that for most people... the actual number of people who will finish the mod will probably be fewer than 100.
I just gone through the same stage and almost lost the base. However it became infinitely easier once I got the nuclear tech. Either nuclear station or solar are mandatory now and I hate solar.
