I grew up in Cohoes New York. I remember when a cop got fired for throwing a football party while on Duty with other on-duty officers in attendance. I don't know how the police are there now but in the late 90s any officers I interacted with were so rude and disrespectful, with the exception of Dare officer Dave he was awesome!

I kept waiting for Barney Miller to come out. What wonderful irony that their calendars are from Bail Bonds, and they're already into September. With glee.

Bro, you REALLY should have filed another FOIL request for her name and salary, or for whomever works at that desk. Name and salary of the employee who was working the desk at the Police dept window on whatever day at whatever time.

Why don't these public servants get it? When are they going to wake up? If you work in the public sector ..you can be filmed by anyone. Their personal information is PUBLIC INFORMATION.

Well, since you didn't block me - let me ask you a question, do you actually have a job??? You Tube viewers have asked me that question to ask you. I understand that you don't answer questions but maybe you could answer this one- do you have an actual job that contributes to paying taxes within your own city taxes???

New York State Executive Law 75 establishes a duty for police officers to expose each others misconduct and corruption. If they fail to RAT out any police corruption they have knowledge of they can be terminated or have other adverse personal action taken against them. They must report it to the open portal at the Law Enforcement Misconduct Investigative Office on the internet. 5. Responsibilities of covered agencies, officers and employees. (a) Every officer or employee in a covered agency shall report promptly to the law enforcement misconduct investigative office any information concerning corruption, fraud, use of excessive force, criminal activity, conflicts of interest or abuse by another officer or employee relating to his or her office or employment, or by a person having business dealings with a covered agency relating to those dealings. The knowing failure of any officer or employee to so report shall be cause for removal from office or employment or other appropriate penalty. Any officer or employee who acts pursuant to this subdivision by reporting to the law enforcement misconduct investigative office shall not be subject to dismissal, discipline or other adverse personnel action.

My observation is that the auditor conducted himself in a respectful and professional manner, and didn't seem to want any revenge for the police clerk who was rather snippy. Perhaps the city manager could remind her about treating encounters with the public in a professional, courteous manner and following POLICY when asked for her name and title EVEN when the interaction is being recorded. It would be interesting to see if she was recorded on the department's camera.
