I was out with my wife for a casual ride when she got stuck on a steep gravel track. I decided to use it as a mountain bike coaching session to help her learn front brake control.

Crazy how the GoPro effect make it look almost flat, only the rear wheel loosing traction at slow speeds makes your brain comprehend how steep it actually is. Nice job!

Awesome and very funny video Lance she takes her time going down hill which you and I would just let the breaks go and just flow down the hill then when she gets to the flat or going up hill just leaves you for dead she must have serious full of energy she is like the energies Battery just keeps on going lol . Weight distribution plays a big part. Get Jacqueline to bend the elbows, moving the weight forward a bit. This increases the front traction and gives better balance. When learning we all had a tendency to lean back, as Justin Leov said, a natural instinct to get as far away from the fear.

You are 100% correct. I think I even mention about getting weight over the front wheel. The hard part is not telling someone what to do but getting them to do it. I think this is especially true when married. I think she would learn faster with a coach that wasn't me. Saying that I get given advice all the time by viewer especially jumping but putting those changes into practice is very difficult.

@@bestdayevermtb2 So it can be done ✅ Yes nice road bike, but you wouldn’t take that for a run down Corridor Jumps so you can pedal before the step up. Maybe Sam Pilgrim would though 🤣 Would be great if it was an option on full sus Emtb’s 👍🙌

Oh oh, woman down... 😅 Very hard to find traction on the loose stuff on steep downhills, congrats! I know the feeling of being smoked by my wife going up. 🙄

Did your one come out of the box with a 44k cut out? I don't know how people in some countries put up with the 25k limit.. almost makes having an eBike pointless in that case.

No it didn't. Full video to come on that bike. Motor swapped out for one that does do 45.
