Our food is coming from overseas it's not coming from the United States. Shiped to the United States from other countries . China makes everything with lead Kids toys, stainless steel cups, utensils, furniture food,....ect And always recalls because it's made in China. Every year Christmas new Christmas toys come out and recalls because the toys are made in China and high levels of lead or choking Nothing new same old stuff just a different day.

I worked for a packaging company and every single item should be run through a metal detector before it goes to retail. A test should be run on the equipment between each product. 🤔

I now buy cinnamon sticks and will grate them myself. I ordered 2 orders of cinnamon in spice bottles and they arrived yesterday. What's next? Nutmeg? I think I will order Whole Nutmeg too. Placing an order as we speak.

I buy all my spices from Azure Standard.

I wonder if the products that are made with pumpkin pie spice are being looked at too?

Pretty soon they will have to tell us what is safe to eat.

All house paint prior to 1970 has lead in it n just opening n closing of windows can give elevated lead levels and soil near roadways has lead in it from Lead gas years ago

I feel good about Costco organic cinnamon. I purchased it back in December 2023 and stocked up for the yr. Large (8/9 oz? ) $4.99

Most of our cinnamon comes from Indonesia( 70%). My understanding some of the lead is naturally occurring.

the lead in the tree bark is because of the environment in which the trees are grown ... a lot of trees are grown in various countries where nothing else can be grown because of pollution

I bought my cinnamon about 2 years ago and it's organic in big glass jars. I never buy applesauce with cinnamon or any products that have cinnamon in it.

My cinnamon sticks are years old that came from Mexico 😮

Better to buy a name brand like McCormicks. They have both the means to test their product and a brand to protect. Sometime you get what you pay for.

Pereg is the kosher spice brand I have. I called to make sure my cinnamon is safe. They told me they test for kosher standards and also test to make sure there is no lead in any product they sell l. Each bottle has a lot number they can look up the testing on.

I got some cinnamon from a kosher brand. I called them they test independently and know there cinnamon dosen't have lead. I will post the name in a little while.

I defied common advice and bought herbs and spices in bulk, and much cinnamon a few years back. I'm good. Cinnamon cannot be grown in the U.S.

You made me hungry for cinnamon cake, now I have to make one.

This isn't a fix now thing though, stick with name brands not Dollar Tree food. These trees take 10 yrs to mature, that's a long time for lead to be absorbed, companies like Mccormick buy whole bark and pieces not ground, so they check it and do their own grinding. Adults are way less compromised than small kids eating small amts of cinnamon. In 2019 they tested baby food and 95% of the food had lead, nothing has changed. Just like we have ditched processed food and eat fairly clean now, make your babies food like we use to do 30 yrs ago and you know what goes in it, don't buy prepackaged foods, so many things are bad in it, maltodextrin & dextrose is in most foods, it raises blood sugar.

WRONG. The recalls began last year in products packaged for children. But the problem began with the cinnamon used. The manufacturer of these products used food grade cinnamon under the presumption that the cinnamon was safe to use. Likewise, I doubt that other food manufacturers utilizing nor the spice bottle brands of cinnamon knowingly sold lead tainted food items. Some of the confusion is probably related to that until tested and proven tainted, a product is considered untained. According to Google cinnamon is primaruly grown in 4 different countries, one of the manufacturing process utilized lead and also adds weight to the cinnamon, and nothing abiut where raw cinnamon plant product is actually manufactured. - Im thinkingnitsnin tje manufacturing unless the air pollution from leaded fuel is being absorbed by the vegetation.

Starwest has a huge selection of organic herbs and spices. I don't consider their prices to be too bad, especially if you factor in a visit to the emergency room! Also, if anyone buys from Thrive Market, they have organic spices, too. I just purchased Simply Organic Ceylon cinnamon from them. Decent price, nice large bottle.

I use to could cinnamon brachs candy. But haven't seen since I don't when. I need cinnamon but don't trust any. Come to think of it haven't seen Cinnamon sticks. I finally found cinnamon drops by Claey's Candy. They've been around since 1919. Smh, I wonder what brand we could trust.

I bought Vietnamese cinnamon, no recalls yet. It does taste a little different.

Many of the cheap spices have heavy metal contaminants due to lead and other metals in the soil. Why do people buy cheap foreign junk at dollar stores and then seem so upset when they get what they paid for? Just stop buying food at dollar stores. I have never liked palmer candy.

The applesauce pouches recall started on oct 31, 2023. Everything should be tested by now. Obviously its not. I dont think it matters if you are buying the most expensive or not. Organic or not. Sticks or powder. It looks like they all have some or a lot. Ask google about your type of cinnamon. It might help you to read a little. I think there is a little lead in lots of food. I dont think a little affects adults much, but its bad for young kids with still developing brains.
