Honestly, as someone with auditory processing disorder, I love it so much. Because sometimes I struggle to understand the lyrics spoken of even the most punctual singers. I've caught myself listening to newly released songs by artists who didn't release official lyrics and would get stuck unable to understand some lines no matter how many times I focused and repeated the audio. Having lyrics right there for me makes things way easier.

Yeah, big loss for Panic, Dallon and Brendon could have brought some really interesting stuff, but as it is, well, Panic is good but mainstream, whereas this bamd is creativity personified. Looking back, Dallon's influence on V&V and the next album is pretty clear. Prefer Brobecks and IDKHOW to Panic any day.

For those of you unaware what this song is about, here's a little info: The placebo effect when something is only in your head, but you still have the physical effects, usually medication of some sort. "Sugar pills" are placebos used in clinical studies -- they aren't the real drug being tested, but the subjects don't know it. That's what the "maybe they don't work at all" line is about.

My review: I listened to this album from track 1 to track 12. and my god is this a great album. From the inviting synths in Leave Me Alone, to the "Piano Pop" in Need You Here the album is very entertaining to listen to. I recommend this album to anyone, and especially new people coming to IDKHOW. This album defines the genre and what IDKHOW sounds like. My ending thoughts: If I could put this album into a few words I would say Razzmatazz is a fun, beautiful, glistening album.

It's literally about sugar pills. The placebo effect only works if the person believes in it, and the singer isn't buying it, he calls it "pseudoscientific little fiction" while trying to "fix" his mental problems with pills that don't work for him. That's why he swallows them all to see if they have any real impact

I can kind of see it. The "it" in the lyric "Is it only in my head?" changes if you think in the context of a mental health struggle overall instead of just referring to the placebo effect, as in "Is the problem only in my head?" instead of "Is the effect only in my head?" To me, it feels like the struggle of someone who refuses to get diagnosed for what's ailing them because they don't want to break this idea that they are "normal". The lyrics "Just for the hell of it", "A quick fix", and "Maybe they don't work at all; swallow every one if them" could mean that they always reach for a bandage fix for their issues instead of confronting the idea that they need help, as if they believe that "only real sick people take real medicine, and I'm not sick" or something. They feel that something's wrong, but they don't believe it's worth seeing a doctor over, so they solely rely on sugar pills to deal with their problems. It's the lyric "You can fix this." that makes me think that they are opposed to seeing a consultant because it implies that they believe themselves capable of dealing with their issues on their own despite the fact that they have no idea what they're doing, and their solutions are nothing more than "sugar pills". If they're panicking over anything, I think it's struggling to believe that they should in fact seek help and struggling to continue to be in denial about it despite the obvious signs, as well as struggling with realising how ineffective their sugar pills have been, so they just keep taking more in the hopes that they'll be fixed anyways.

WAIT GUYS ❗️❗️ someone else made a comment like this but I can’t find it but I have some theory’s about this song!! So Dallon does this stuff a lot in his writing with his songs right? Like Modern day Cain a new Do it all the time, Social Climb etc. where he puts on this kind of persona that everything is ok but shows how it is inherently evil. So what if the song is about placebos or prescription drugs that don’t fix the problem the just ‘make you feel better’ such as Opioids that soooo many people are overdosing on because they’ve become co-dependent on those drugs which is why he “swallows every one of them” and loses count of how many he’s taking. Sorry it’s long but I think that this is a really interesting theory that a lot of people haven’t thought of!!
