Man I sure wish I knew all this stuff back when I was having my baby. I was forced into c-section and caused bad post-partum depression for me. They scared my husband and myself saying natural birth would cause shoulder displacement or break her arm. Of course we said do what you need to. I didn't even get to labor. I have seen a video about this woman that went the same route. The company did not tell this woman that there were several complaints about this Doula, and they allowed her to continue to work. This Doula was being investigated by the FBI, and the mother was not told. Please be careful with the person you choose. Have a safe and enjoyable pregnancy and delivery. I wish you all the joy you deserve in bringing your child into the world. I forgot to add that it wasn't until after she gave birth that she found this all out when she tried to get a pediatrician to give her child the shot they get after they are born.
You can have a midwife with you at the hospital but be careful I had a baby at 36 going on 37. I was very heathy and no issues and out of the blue I developed preeclampsia / toxemia and my doctor was amazing and the health conditions are so different after 35. I know you want a Vback.. but your health and the baby’s condition in the womb should determine the type of delivery you have and I agree a birthing dula is great to help you. As a certified nurse midwife I am so glad to hear you talk about pregnancy/birth options and how powerful you are being in your choices. Even working in a midwife friendly city like Seattle I still explain all this everyday in my office. You speak so elequently about a woman's power and choices in the process, I sometimes get blank stares from first time pregnant couples when I explain it! Knowledge is power and it saves lives. As usual you did your homework. That's what I really admire about you. I couldn't be more proud of you as if you were my own daughter. I am passed my birthing days, but it's good that you are sharing your knowledge with others. Sorry to say, but some doctors are treating patients like their on a assembly line. How in the devil annual dr's visit last for only 15 mins, but you waited 30 to 45 min. with a scheduled appointment. Covid really opened my eyes to the fact that African Americans are at the bottom of the list in health care. I like to talk and read. My doctor was shocked when I opened up a conversation about where and when she attended medical school. She was walking out the door, but she came back and gave me my other 15mins. 😂 We are straight know, I choose her because she is one of the best in her field. Congratulations 🎊 and blessings with the new baby. ♥

My daughter has three kids 15, 11 and four and they were all delivered by the same midwife which retired in January so I’m hoping the daughter is done. She’s she will be 33 in July. Congratulations!
Good for you, knowledge is power. I had 2 c sections, the doctor cut me vertically so muscle tone is gone after 2 c sections and hysterectomy (years ago). As my mother would say I was cut from as....to appetite .I have friends who had c sections about the same time and were cut horizontally and therefore had better muscle tone.
Chrystal, be careful since you’ve had 3 c sections be very careful. I have had two. My son passed away from SIDS. My daughter is 31 and healthy. My son was born healthy also he was a big boy

The reason I had C section is because my umbilical cord was rapped around my daughter’s neck. I applaud you for trying vaginal delivery but why. C section babies are just as healthy as Vaginal births. You can get a birth doula’s
My baby girl was almost 9lbs lol she was 8lbs 13oz in labor Too long almost 3 days ugh My husband stayed started growing a beard lol i couldn't push anymore big beautiful head lol I had c section Womp Yes she was very healthy but to experience natural birth is Golden ✨
