To make sure no one can say she didn't say it or they didn't understand. She makes sure it's loud, clear and concise. So no one can try to later say... well I didn't know, I didn't understand, or I don't hear her say that. Trust and believe not only will have the individuals in trouble try to say that but I've seen even lawyers try to say they don't remember I'm judge saying that, they didn't hear the judge say that or, they must have misunderstood what the judge said. Judge Bryant has been in these legal streets for a long time... everything she says or does is intentional. I don't blame her! When people continuously lie straight to her face. I'm sure that gets old and it highly insulting to her!
I love Judge Bryant. You know she was living on the streets and picked herself up, got through college and law school and was elected Judge. She knows what it is like out there and she does not play!
There's something satisfying about Judge Bryant's strictness, not only regarding the law but about court etiquette. And it's not self-fulfilling but for the benefit of defendants who often desperately need boundaries and direction, the lack of which got them in trouble to begin with. Wish more judges would have higher standards in this regard.
When Ms. Robinson said “can I say something?” The look on Atty. Mourad’s and Atty. Stevenson’s faces - priceless. They know Judge Bryant, they knew which way the wind was blowing, and they knew Ms. Robinson was about 2 syllables away from making things much, MUCH worse. Good on the lawyers for (mostly) keeping their clients out of trouble. Good on Judge Bryant for not accepting this “both try to contact each other, both cry about the other” B.S.
Attorney Stevenson needs to go into private practice, as I’ve rarely seen any defense attorney better represent their client. In addition, her skill with…ahem…difficult clients, tells me that she deserves to get paid a lot more than what Wayne County’s paying her.
@@torstrasburg8289 It’s entirely possible, that APA Ritter, is just burned out. She’s probably been doing her job for so many years, and not seeing any real positive change, she just doesn’t care anymore.
My out of control daughter, many, many years ago had a tether! It was connected to the house landline! If she left the house or yard, it notified the police! She figured out that if you take the cordless handset with you, she could go all the way down the street! As long as she had tone, she was good! Pretty smart little girl! She now has a Masters in business and works for the Government!
Judge Bryant is just AMAZING!! I wish we had judges like her all over this country!! When the defendant asks if she can say something both attorneys jump and say NO!!! She has me cracking up!! She is a no nonsense Judge!!!
She is exactly what we need in our judges. She is caring, down to earth, calls it like it is, and will not back down from telling anyone (including the DA) when she feels justice is not being served. She is the perfect role model for our younger generations.
@Bethany-gk1ei Judges are, by nature, very conservative. Not in a political sense, they just don't like new situations or ideas. Given the power a judge has I'm all for that. But when they get their bearings they can get brutal. And that's entertaining.
She is living with her mother during home confinement. They don't get along and argue. She found out that Al foil will block the tether's signal and wrapped it around her tether. When the police could not locate her signal, they went to her house. While there, she drove up and they caught her with the Al foil.
Before hearings attorneys should educate clients about proper court etiquette- especially those presided by judge Bryant! No slouching, talking, eating, drinking, smoking, eye rolling, facial expressions, gestures, etc.
Very! I ran across a 'friend' on FB that was posting live videos that were clearly her crying and him being heard in the background ranting and obviously striking something and when his strike happens, she wails. The police dept where she lives have given a cold shoulder.
Attorney Janice Stevensen fights hard for her clients...love the way she handles her business. She also seems to have a pretty good relationship with the judge...which is also helpful for the people she defends.
I can't believe the amount of time and resources that are spent on all these petty and childish squabbles with people that are emotionally and mentally still children! I have the greatest respect for Judge Bryant, because it's obvious that she has personal knowledge of dysfunction, has risen above all this type of behavior within her peer group, has made dedicated and solid decisions in her life, and has achieved a level of respect that she is certainly due. More Judges should lay it on the line like Judge Bryant has done here!
I got in a little trouble at the county seat. They put me in the jailhouse for loafing on the street. The judge said guilty. He made his point. He said $45 or 30 days in the joint. And that'll be cash on the barrelhead hon. You can take your choice. You're 21. No money down. No credit plan. No time to chase you. I'm a busy man. ❤
This Judge has a different style. However, she sees things the right way. I can certainly see why she was chosen for judgeship. She has her finger on the human condition. Nothing but respect. Thank you judge for not being biased!
Judge Bryant is one of the most down to earth judges i have watched, she’s awesome, she uses clear and precise common sense in all the hearings, anyone who strays from her order is a big fool and deserves to be hauled off into jail
Im surprised the prosecutor didnt show up locked and loaded with the trancripts already in hand. Its what Ive seen other prosecutors do and this is the second time today ive seen her fumble the ball.
I know one thing, if anyone ever forgets any info the judge gives, it’s definitely on them, because Judge Bryant loves repeating everything at least three times😂
@@torstrasburg8289 maybe during one of her hearings, she wasn’t able to get her point across to the plaintiffs or such, and needed to keep repeating herself, and now it’s just second nature to her, but yes definitely over the top sometimes, and many times I find myself keeping track of how many she repeats herself more than focusing on the trial itself.😂😂
There needs to be class in Highschool, for the USA where they explain and teach you about the Law and PROCESS of the legal system. The process is what trips most people up. What to do and when can be very confusing and so you should be teaching kids around the same time that they get their driver's licence. You should NOT need to be told to sit up straight when you're in court, wearing an ugly shirt.
Judge Bryant made her position very clear on what will happen if compliance to her order is not met. I admire how she demands the respect her position and that of the court, rightly requires. I also appreciate the fact that she suffers no fools (as in this woman).
Aluminum foil blocks the signal, if you wrap your smartphone, you’ll lose signal. It’s smart actually, but when the tether doesn’t respond to the signal, they’ll immediately know somethings up. They know exactly where you’re supposed to be so if they show up and you aren’t there, you’re screwed.
It’s like reading a book you’ve already read Judge screams and rants and then Ms.Stevenson begs and Judge takes back all she’s threatened. Like a book you’ve already read. Lol
Ahaahaha Mourad shaking his head when MD Henderson was shaking his head....he kills me. My man almost jumped thru the screen.I love watching this courtroom. Judge Simpson and Judge Bryant they are great.
