Thanks so much! So nothing particularly fancy going on in the post modular chain. Basically I have one output going (the Intellijel 7U Performance Case built-in outputs going into a Sound Devices MixPre recorder which in turn is sending a stereo out directly into the camera, which is what you hear. Back in the system my main output is doubled to the Intellijel 1U headphones out module which I am sending out to the mixer which is going to a monitor for me to hear while recording. This module is amazing because it allows for simultaneous monitoring and recording from your eurorack. The mixer I am using is a Mackie ProFx12 which I picked up for like half the price on B&H deal. It is a decent sounding mixer and seems to handle modular levels just fine, only downside is that it does not support multi-track recording over USB.

Thanks ! Hmm. Good question. My first Mannequins module was the Mangrove and what I really like about it was the brassy, windy warm sound it produces paired with some very interesting quasi-organic glitchiness as you modulate the formant pot or cv. Then I got the Three Sisters and it took me a while to really appreciate what it could do. From what I can gather it is also a pretty unique sounding filter (although I am not a huge filter freak). I then got the Cold Mac and it really took me a while to make sense of it, but it has a very nice overdrive crunch when you push it a bit. And then there is just friends which can be a very interesting modulation source but also a very interesting voice. wHile Mangrove has probably the most recognizable sound, like anything, I guess it really depends on how you use it and in what context you put it. I have a couple of videos featuring each of these, so if you do a search on my channel you might get a better answer from my point of view.

Thanks you!! I love these cables, too, so I am happy you comment on them. They are the David Cronenberg inspired Crono cables meant to look flesh-like and they kind of glow in the dark.... I believe they are a special CTRL MOD cable (great little Brooklyn-based modular shop!)... I sometimes think of using only these cables but you get a bit too lost in the patch... the only thing I would point out is that some cables are very supple (almost like skin) while other are rather stiff or plasticky....
