The reason Drive is such a good movie is because it never tried to be anything but what it was, a great movie. No flashy fight scenes, no over the top dramatics, just a guy who could drive with a past we never learn about.

Bro you can learn about driver's past if you read the book written by James Sallis. His father was a thief and he used to help dad's work by taking advantage of his small body. But once he started growing, he reached 188cm from nearly 120 so fast. He also learned how to drive by dad, and he realized that he was really good at driving. One day his mother went crazy, killed her husband with a knife. After she was arrested, driver was adopted into a family. About one month before his 16th birthday, he ran away from home with his money and stepparent's car. He went to LA and found Shannon in a bar, asking him to see his driving skill...
