I know it’s been 2 years but I watch a lot of fishing videos and I have never seen anyone catch a red snapper that big, WOW, WOW, WOW, what a beautiful fish!
Just wanted to say I first watched you over a year ago when i was heading down to your area to fish. Even bought some bait from hooked up. Since then, my girlfriend and i watch you regularly because you've become the best channel there is when it comes to fishing videos balanced with advice, gear, cooking, and all kinds of species. Keep up the great work!
Dude honestly just watching you outmuscle and beat that monster of a snapper was so impressive!! It's really awesome to discover someone as passionate/charismatic and entertaining as you who's at the same time not incredibly big yet (certainly will be) but produces high quality and production value content. Watching your unfiltered struggle to fight that fish, and seeing your genuine reaction and joy when you realized it was a PR, amazing. I bet you'll remember that fish for years to come, and good thing you caught everything on camera and made a dope vid out of it :)))
Yup! I know how it works haha. Gotta find that fine line between breaking off/pulling that fish off the structure. It was tight enough to where you couldn’t physically pull the drag out by hand , lol
Thanks for all you do I learn a lot by watching you and thanks for your service I am an army veteran I have been out 49 years now and now I am disabled and I would truly love to go fishing but it is tough so I injury watching you and others I injury fishing through you all thanks again from a truck driver retired and a veteran
Hey I used to vacation with my fam down at Gulf Shores all through my childhood in the 80's, and watching your channel has brought back some great memories. We used to stay at the State Park but some years we rented condos and even stayed at the old Gulf Shores Motel once, with the massive rooms. I haven't fished since around 2002 but it's very relaxing to watch, and I like all the awesome nature stuff too. Thanks for being a top notch steward of the environment and setting good examples for people to follow!
I know you have a larger boat now, but what drew me to your video channel was your focus on the fish, your explanation of your rigs and why you use them is a certain area/time. I like that the gear you use is not out of reach for most people. 17 ft. w/90 horse, fuel efficient, nothing just for show. quality reels and rods you use.(Always smart to invest in good gear) and you thank the lord for all he does for us. I don't do that as often as I should, you remind me to do so more often, so thanks. Keep following your passion. It's much better than you think. (I like your Mom too, Nice lady.)
You got some good eating there Bama. Congratulations on that Red Snapper. I loved the fight. If you get the chance next time you are fishing deep water please explain what you have to do to release the fish after bringing it up from deep water. Awesome video! Thanks
Hey Brother. Thankyou for your service first off. Secondly thankyou for this awesome channel. It's easy to see that you are an upstanding person. Me and my son's watch religiously waiting for your next video. They are 13 and 11 and you sir are their hero. I'm glad they chose you to idolize instead of all the other things they could have this day in age. Thankyou for your example. We live over on Dauphin island but my folks live in Orange Beach. We would love to get up sometime for a handshake. They always look for you anytime we are out fishing that area. Thanks again man and good fishing.
Hi Bama nice snapper it is a good fight I have caught many big red snapper from 5 to 45 lbs you never get tired of fighting them or at least I don't if you add extra salt to your slush you can just about freeze fish.
@@danni1993 More than likely its out of season and being that large, its generall a good idea to let them go anyway since those tend to be females and older females will produce a shitton of eggs compared to smaller egg bearing younger ones.
If you catch a flounder you can use its stomach to bait hooks with instead of squid. Squid rips off the hook really easily but the flounder stomach is like leather and won’t come off the hook if a fish tugs on it instead of biting the whole rig.
BAMA, the first time an UNCLE took me fishing, I got an11 pound red snapper,,yours was HUGH, but had to release it, a shucks , but you got some eaters for keep,,,,🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Dude! What a MONSTER Snapper! I hooked something like that last October on a 8" grunt but it broke the 50# floro leader. I'm returning for retribution in April so leave a few for us!
Hey hey BSW😎Awesome Catch on th big snapper!!! Great content as Always 👍 mama & me still comin to camp late April. Would be Proud to pay for a trip out if you’re interested. ThankYou for your Service as well!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏
that red snapper whipped you like a red-headed stepchild. Had ya grunting. And turned out your biggest ever. Too bad ya got seasoned on it. For historical purposes, my aunt taught me something about step-children. She calls them bonus daughters and bonus sons. It gives them a wonderful and proud title. I have two bonus sons...Both combat disabled veterans (Army). One when he's not selling real estate around Ft. Hood he's bass fishing in Saledo Tx. I'm looking forward to floundering with a boat and light in West Fowl River here in Mobile County. this was a great video...Congrats on your record snapper.
When season comes back around you gotta try and get some of those big snapper further in…. If u can get on some smaller reefs especially those toward the bay with a big bait like I’m talking half a bonito fillet or spanish u will find fish like that especially early and really late in the season Bc a lot of the boats just blow right by the tiny reefs but Every 20 plus pound snapper we’ve caught have come off small reefs like single pyramids.
Just fished Pensacola/Gulf Shores area and the bite was TOUGH! Lost one big red and a big sheep, really heartbreaking stuff especially when you’re on vacation and don’t have time to get revenge.
Wow absolutely a beautiful red snapper. You have some great eating there. I hope to catch some mangroves in the pass at the end of April!! We are coming down for vacation. I can’t wait. Great video!
Hi , very interesting as i see you travel and do what I love to do. Are you not scared to be by yourself 20 mi away from the shore in the middle of nowhere ? do u see the shore from where u go fishing ? how far can u see the shore ? whre in alabama is the good spot to go fishing ? I am from NY, Staten island
Great day out bruv. Why noy use a left hand wind reel? Im right handed and it feels alien to wind with right hand. I once paid a fortune to go for a weeks marlin fishing and they only had RHW. I went n bought my own which you know aint cheap! Never used it since. Will have to see what we got in Texas!
I live on Dauphin Island and fish from an 18ft center console. Are there reliable charts with structures identified like the ones you are fishing? I love your video's and website.
Best advice is buy a Garmin with the newest charts! I purchased my Garmin Echomap 94sv last year and haven't looked back. (not sponsored or affiliated with Garmin)
Is the red that you caught good eating too , or are they not as good that large? I know I throw my big stripers back because of the huge bloodline and for conservation purposes. Havagudun Bama.
I personally think all Snapper tastes pretty good, but prefer to kill and eat the 10lber's and let the big mama's get back. But these days, you release a fish out of conservation, the boat behind ya will kill it anyway. haha
My son caught one that was 28” and I thought it was a monster! Fed 15 people tacos for dinner. I can’t imagine what that was like live. Great job. Can’t wait to be fishing there soon.
