Never once did I think of going into a tornado to collect the actual rain and debris from one, then replacing the water in a tornado lamp with it. Mad stuff. I don't know if you know this but, tornado alley has been moving east towards Kansas City Missouri and as west as salina kansas.

I used to own a toy as a kid, that was designed to do the same thing as this invention. Granted it couldn't operate automatically, but basically it was small plastic cylinder with a liquid inside, and the labeling on the outside was something along the lines of "tornado in bottle", and you would have to basically spin it around in your hands in a specific motion, and you would see a "tornado" form inside the cylinder for a couple of seconds, before disappearing , and having to shake the bottle again to make it reappear. Easily one of the best toys I've ever had and it was such a awesome concept.

Great video! I would have preferred if the actual art focused more on the water itself - like by turning off the colored lighting so you can really see the muddy color and debris - I feel like it would give a more natural feeling.
