They're employees; no one's charging them per sample. Honestly, if someone is changing their outfit each time, I would have been handing them out just to see how many outfits they had with them. The amount of "free samples" I've handed out over the years because someone made me laugh is not inconsiderable. I never had to answer to anyone for how many I handed out, so people I liked can of course get special consideration.
we went back and chatted after, family owned business so not employees. All super sweet people, I tried to pay them and they ended up giving me and the team 3 huge plates of food. If you ever find yourself in Camden Market in London tell them I sent you
I've organized free comunity events before and trust me, we love when people outside of the community show up. Heck, we love it when people show up at all.
Damn bro, this touches my soul. I always wondered who are the people who organise such events, what’s their lifestyle is like, how they are temperamentally, how did they come up to such an idea. Also, is it considered a job and you are being paid?
Hey@@Jaa_morant, thanks for your curiosity! Well there's two types of persons in that case haha most of my experience was as a volunteer in a group that we made with some friends simply because we wanted to do something in our town. We weren't paid at all, and actually the events cost us a lot of money. When we had bigger events (concerts and such) we basically walked all around town asking for contributions from big and small businesses, and you'd be surprised how many of them are willing to help when they realize it is for the community. Some gave us food, some gave us money, some their talent or maybe equipment that we needed for the event. But most of the money still came from our pockets. The other way you can organize this sort of event is when you work for a public or private institution that is willing to finance that. In that case, you are getting paid, yeah, but most of the time organizing said event is only a tiny part of the job you have to do to get paid. Afaik, you can actually get a job where 100% of the time you are organizing these types of events, but it's really rare, usually that means you either work for the government or for a very wealthy NGO, and that's pretty rare. Bottomline is anybody can organize an event if they want to, and you can even do it for very cheap (or free!) if you are willing to walk around and speak with people about your project and ask them for help. A lot of them will actually support you if what you're doing is something that aims to make people happy in your community.
Loved the board game bit, so wholesome and made the evening more fun for everyone involved. Big up the 3 legends who organized that for free just so kids can have some pizza and fun!
@@MrNigelFarage Commenting the same negative stuff all in the comments, brother go get some friends and a life and you might be a bit happier, you weird little freak
from another one of the comments, zac replied and said that he did go back and chatted for a bit, and try to pay but they gave the team free food. they are a family owned business according to their convo that Zac told us about.
The end had me freaking crying. The food and games might sound very little but is a lot for many kids - Joanna we appreciate you SO MUCH! And Zac, you were simply awesome and kind.
Im 21 and this is definitely not little for me. But jt's not about games and food, it's about community and friends, comfort, fun and love. And this is so important for most of the people i think
what a beautiful way to end this video. i believe we all know that joanna isn't doing this for some recognition, its still something special to feel.. seen, understood and appreciated. thanks zac!❤
Love how this went from unethical to one of the most wholesome pieces of content I've seen in a while. My mom is a bit of a Joanna and this warmed my heart.
This is exactly what I wish more RU-vidrs would do, it's all funny pranking people and videoing them but then donate or help them out afterwards, it makes such a better video too! Loved this!
Man what an ending that was. You should so do more of the positive things in communities. Bring more joy and happiness, because too many people have depression, anxiety, sad, etc.
From my perspective, I don't see how that first action is unethical. You gave them gift certificates without asking for anything in return. They freely gave you an upgrade. I suppose an argument could be made that your motive was not virtuous. But calling it unethical is a bit of a stretch.
I actually did this "life hack" for many years already when traveling. Always buy them a big bag of sweets, gift cards or whatever. NOT because I want an upgrade or free food (which I often got), but rather just to say thank you. And I guess they can tell, if someone "bribes" them, or just genuinely wants to say thank you. Spreading some love to hardworking people
@@Atit8gn What is ethical is based on what particular moral philosophy one is appealing. Your long winded diatribe does not appear to be appealing to any moral philosophy.
Unethical would have been giving them Starbucks is gift cards with no money loaded on them. The actual cards are free and they’d never know until you land.
Wasn’t expecting that ending! So lovely to see and can see how much you actually enjoyed the time with them. How wholesome!! The world needs more people like Joanne! xx
I really wish people joined community events more, very little people do but it always means so much. I feel like if youre an introvert or have social anxiety its a very good place to make progress into coming out and making friends, even if youre not even particularly interested on the event topic
That last segment was truely inspiring! All these kids stuck inside playing computers or glued to their phones could really benefit from an event like this. Having young kids myself im going to look into putting something like this on in the local community center
I am absolutely crying from the end of that video. I WISH these local community things like this had a larger turn out! Big up Joanna and others like her ! Now to go dry my face lmao
Not sure what I was expecting from this video but safe to say I died laughing when you kept getting free samples and those people were hilarious and then you made me actually get emotional at the end. Equal parts funny and wholesome, awesome content :)
This video took us through so many phenomenal stories. The roller coaster all the way to that wholesome end really made my day❤❤❤ I’m so happy you brought so many smiles to a local community, simply through showing up and being who you are And even more happy you where able to give back ❤❤❤
It's pretty common that frequent fliers already give FAs small gifts such as Starbuck cards, chocolates, etc and they are greatly appreciated by the FAs. However, FAs don't have the authority to dish out upgrades, especially pre-flight, so I'd take that portion of this video with a grain of salt. The UA upgrade process is all automated now and the gate agents come back on board to upgrade already seated passengers. Also note that he was not originally sitting in a middle B seat as his ticket showed, likely a D aisle seat. How do I know? I'm a 2 million miler on United...
@@MikeA-pe2eoI understand everything you said and think you're right. Although I don't think he is showing an official upgrade, it would be the FAs letting someone sit in an upgraded seat because there was space(no one except the FAs and that one passenger would know). I work in hospitality and I do stuff like this(upgrading someone's room for example) for people I like, usually regulars. If I get grilled I just make up a reason like there was a problem with the seat or the guest was treated badly or had lots of problems so did it to keep them happy. Also, all 3 seats could have been empty when he got on so sat in the aisle seat to get their attention.
@@MikeA-pe2eoyeah the point is that it isn't an official upgrade but rather because there's an empty unsold seat in business class somewhere. While you can't GUARANTEE it will work if you hand over a card, they can't GUARANTEE you haven't already spent everything on the gift card...thus the "unethical" part. Now I'm someone who doesn't fly, so I'm interested in your opinion, as a self confessed frequent flyer, why the flight attendant cares enough to bother upgrading someone to that empty seat, rather than just having it be empty or giving it to someone else they like the look of... 🤷 It seems to me like more effort than it is worth for a nebulous gift card that may or may not have money on. It's not like there's only a few planes flying around and they'll probably meet you again thus making it worth striking up a "business arrangement" surely? And if this does commonly work, then it makes you wonder what else they might do for gift cards 😂🥴
this is great and wholesome, i dont think that a youtube video has ever gotten so much into me. but this sure did! I would lie if i said i didn't tear up at the end. This sure made me see you as another person, we need more people like you zac. wish you the best zac!
We’ve turned up to family events like that and been the only ones to turn up. Despite getting all the free stuff you still feel bad that for all the effort put in nobody is there to appreciate it. There are many Joanna’s out there doing good things, support them. 👍
I never really comment RU-vid videos. But I liked this video so much! 😊 But the best part, was your gratitude and kindness for Joanna. So much love ❤ You really have my respect. Thank you guys! 👏 That was amazing!
Always a great day seeing a new Zac Alsop upload. What stared off funny and light-hearted turned into something stupidly wholesome. Great video as always. Credit to the team and you!
im so high on my medication right now the last bit just made me bawl my eyes out, that turned what was a funny vid into one of the most wholesome bits of content ive ever seen, youre amazing
Dealt some of these tricks and may say attitude is everything. At least in the end of the day if you fail you get experience and boldness. Like your style and you made people happy on the journey, what matters most.
The game board event probably was a good thing that you did. I kind of wish he went back and bought something from the chicken stand, especially since he said he liked it.
Joanna looking at the present made me cry so much. Humans supporting other humans is the most beautiful thing. The fact you kept to yourself what you gifted makes this even more special. Thank you.
From my experience as a luxury hotel worker, whenever you try to make an entrance on normally paid for stuff such as breakfast, spa, massages etc. They will catch you in the act if there is enough staff that day. I'm assuming for the first hotel you went to and inevitably failed to enter the pool of, the spa probably was an extra even for guests (meaning they would normally have to pay for as well). The paper you had signed there was stating that your credit card left at the reception would be charged for using the spa. So technically, you could have gotten someone in trouble if there was such a hotel room exact to what you wrote. As a bonus, you might have been in legal trouble of theft if you were to actually go on and enter the pool.
Bro i just found your channel and your killing it! Its so hard to find new enjoyable content and i gotta catch up on your library of content now i got vids for days 😁
The true unethical life tips are always in the comments. Just offer empty starbucks gift cards. You'll waste no money and still get the free upgrade from corrupting the flight atendents
Here is a cinema "life hack" I've done many times. It does invovle money though sadly for part 1 . Most cinemas with multi screens show films every couple hours. And many times I've been able to pay for one film then as soon as that ends just wander into another screen and watch another film.
I think the "unethical" part is that you could have either stolen the cards (thus they haven't been activated and have a value of zero) or you've already used them, if you're going to buy the coffee anyway, thus they've got a cost of zero to you effectively. As they can't check until they get off the plane you've spent £0 for an upgrade, if it works, and if it doesn't work you just get another card and try again next time... 😂
Whoever’s reading this, i pray that whatever you’re going’s through gets better and whatever you’re struggling with or worrying bout is going to be fine and that everyone has a fantastic day! Amen
