I hardly ever comment on stuff. But those big dog sand rail owners were top notch. Super humble, knowledgeable, and seemed super down to earth. Most people in any scene that have the baddest stuff are tough to be around. Those guys need to get on YT asap.

My family has been building custom VW bug bodied sand rail cars for years and they figured out that a square hole cut in the floorboards with a plexiglass panel over it makes doing wheelies much more fun! They also had independent breaking for each rear tire so they could control it that much more while in the air!

That particular car is around the ballpark of a half a million I believe. There is a few other heavy hitters out in glamis with multiple cars as well. 1badtoyfactory just built a new car that’s sequential but also can turn into a paddle shifter car. The entire transmission housing is made of billet. I talked to the guy at the sand sport show who did all the machine work for it. Told me the car cost roughly $750,000.

Cleetus should name his new sand rail the radio flyer because that unit flies! And I think he should swap engines out of the Dale truck and put that Texas speed 427 in the sand rail and put a bigger supper charger on it! Turbos are cool but the way it screams with the super charger sounds better in my humble opinion but awesome always cleet!

Honestly this is so funny always thinking of Sam in the back of these wild cars. These are what true vehicle enthusiasts are about. No one’s yelling and screaming at each other and no one’s out making an ass of themselves. Just good people having a good time. Helping out if they can. And showing others a good time. Like the sand car guys. Those dudes were awesome. This is the reason I like cars and the community. It’s sad that some ruin it.

The sandrail wheelies are cool! Put a skid plate on the back and you wont be dragging your harmonic balancer through the sand, tearing up the belt. Then you could add rudders hooked up to the steering...

This car is a Class 1 chassis, turned into a play car with all the fun parts. Rich Ronco was a dedicated racer and really put in the work to get these machines where they are today. These handle like dialed race cars, because they are. :)

I was so curious and anxious to see what the biggest and baddest on those dunes were because even after seeing some of those nice units I knew those weren’t quite it. I’m super stoked to finally see the true monsters and see their super cool owners.
