I would say that Connor had that first battle against Sorensen, no need for a OMT.

The use of OMT was so smart from them and I would rather watch them go again then judges splitting hairs over tiny mistakes which could lead to bad calls

His explanation made no sense. If he had a better lead he would have advanced no question. Could you see even a OMT if Hull had less mistakes on his lead? Shanahan lost the chase so all the counted to arrive at that was Shanahan lead

@@zigzagrambo I was thinking the same watching it live, but if you watch it at 0.5 speed few times you will see (or not if you’re too biased) why Conor got the win, having to back off on bank, then unable to keep up afer the transition, expecting Hull to be on a good lead line.

The lead should never be more important than a chase.. if that was true, why have tsuiso at all? If you are leading you are just driving the track. If you are following you literally have to figure out all the angles and timings live

Then you need to rewatch the lead from taylor that was a omt or shanahan

Hull was all over the place made it really difficult for Connor to chase, Connor lead was much better gave hull all the opportunity to jump into the pocket you can’t have a good chase without a good lead

Wasn't his mistake that connor slowed down in the area where he is not allowed to. Shouldn't even have been a OMT from the beginning cuz James clearly won that first battle.

That lead from hull was all over the place it makes it difficult to chase, Connor was smooth and gave hull the opportunity to get on the door

@@Jack_cliffe_drift imo Hull's line was clean and there was no major slow-downs, but he wasn't as high on the bank, went wide and missed inner clip 2 (which would technically help Connor to close in) and slightly shallow in OZ 2 but still within the zone (dropped one wheel). Connor's car is just not as fast as Hull's or just too much left foot brakes, so he had really bad proxy, too far back in the chase and with really low angle throughout the whole run. Hull on the other hand did everything right in the chase, heck he mimicked the angle and even rubbed Connor all the way to the finish. Connor's lead was clean. I believe both driver's mistakes outweigh each other, clean chase/bad lead vs bad chase/clean lead which is why OMT would be appropriate for me. Just my opinion.

@@Adatico1 usually they penalize more on lead mistakes, it's difficult to chase a bad lead.

@@HJK242 but to be fair, Hull's lead wasn't even bad at all, you have to nit pick to find the mistakes, nothing bad enough to disrupt the chase

StreetTuber watch it again and you will see hull did not give shanahan a clean lead run which makes shanahan not able to do a baller chase, if hull would have given a primo lead shanahan would have been on hulls door from the driving I seen. Ask anyone else who knows anything about high level competitive drifting. Your entitled to your opinion, I respectfully disagree. And I'm not trying to call you out either just urge you to watch the battle again

500hp is your average drift car I agree they should limit the hp putting dveryone on the same playing field but it should be around 800hp It would really test the drivers skill and abilities setting up the chassis and suspension

@@Boosted26L 800hp on Irwindale wouldn't be possible to even compete.

​@@hugo-pg5tvbig bank tracks would be harder but not impossible. There is alot of cars with 900hp competing, they just run them looser then the top dogs competing with 1100hp

A horsepower limit wouldn't make sense in drifting cuz everyone has different cars, different tires, different tire size and the cars weigh different weights. Drifting ain't like F1 where the cars are very identical when it comes to tire size, weight and power.
