I drove to central Utah to experience the 2023 Annular Solar Eclipse that happened on October 14th. It was a beautiful landscape, perfect for witnessing this cosmic event.

We camped southeast of you, between Delta and Milford at a spot called "Sunstone Knoll" which is a fun spot to rockhound. We originally set up at Fort Deseret, the last remaining adobe fort in Utah, but then headed further south to get closer to the centerline. A DNR ranger told us about the two big gatherings at Sevier lake bed and also up on the Notch Peak trailhead, but we were already situated so we stayed put. Thanks for the great content.

Awesome. I definitely need to spend more time out there. It was beautiful and you don't have to fight people for spots to camp.

Hi Tim. I'm looking at moving to Ogden for Winter from the east coast. I've been to Utah twice but never up and Ogden. Wondering if any pros or cons you could tell me about. places to avoid? thanks!

Hi Zach, Ogden is awesome. Pros, it's a hidden gem. Cons, I can't think of many other than potholes in the spring, maybe houses are over-valued, but that's all of Utah, at this point. There are rougher parts of town. You may here people say to avoid between Washington and Harrison boulevard and from 12th to 36th street. That pretty much forms a perfect rectangle of "inner city Ogden." I think there's a ton of opportunity there, to be honest, but I see reports of thefts coming from those areas a lot. People are going to say Ogden has gangs, but if you're not in one, there's no need to fear them. It's really not bad at all. Just trying to get out in front of the rumors you'll hear.

Ogden area sucked, no view at all. Too many clouds. I thought weather peeps said it would be clear out I would have headed south!

Dang, that's too bad. We weren't sure we would have a good view. It was cloudy the night before and lucked out.
