Nice vlog! Very strange for me to see the images from "my " city😄. Personally I think Gothernburg is really beatiful and worth exploring more, I made a walkable tour which I shared with some friends. Here in västra götaland the soil consist not so much of sand or clay but mostly of rock. That implies that all "flattening" that has to done with explosives. Laying the foundation for a house can cost easily 100k Euros, and also explains why most roads follow the curvature of the landscape. Do you get around using English? I watched a Danish/Swedish TV series (Gråzone) this week but I really can't understand much at all of the Danish part... The swedish main character admitted in an interview that she couldn't understand much Danish at all in the beginning of the making of the series.

@@CreRay so happy that a ‘local’ is watching 😄 it’s was so nice there, nice change of scenery. I got by in Danish, I just spoke slow and clear and that made it perfectly understandable. I used English once, but only if we ran into difficulties where I needed to be 100% clear. I have colleagues in the European Parliament who insists on speaking ‘Scandinavian’ but honestly, I find it sooo difficult to understand them that eventually I give up 😂 other Swedish colleagues give it up immediately and we speak English. I prefer that 😅

Very nice vlog! How did you find this beautiful summer house? Any tips to find these lovely places? Your videos are a source of inspiration for me!

Thank you for your lovely comment ❤️ the answer is tons and tons of research really. We knew we wanted a small, red summerhouse in a private area. We booked well in advance - because that is what Scandinavians always do for these things - to make sure it was available. We were flexible with dates, but most summerhouses are rented out from Saturday to the Saturday afterwards (or from Sunday to Sunday). I have left a link for this one in the description if you are interested. Hope to see you around this channel again ❤️☀️

I plan to go to southern Sweden for a weekend next year in October (gaming event with my partner) and out of curiosity I checked how far would be that lovely summer house, but it's 4h away from the place we'll be staying 😂 Living in Belgium you get used to everything being close 🤷🏻‍♀️

Maybe I can also share that I want to visit Denmark more often. From my perspective Danish people (for better or worse) are much more like Dutch people (more "open") and I'm noticing that I'm kind of drawn to that. Our company has an office in Malmö where I could work, although it would impact the career posibilities. I think I would enjoy cycling more there, and then there's the cultural (music) part, the type of music I like is completely absent in Sweden and at home I ususally still listen to either belgian Radio 1 or StuBru. And yes, I miss my frinds and family too... though not to the extent that I would want to move back to the Netherlands. Enjoy the rest of your stay!

@@CreRay as a Dutch person who moved to Denmark as a child, I can definitely say the Dutch and the Danish vibe really really well. It’s also quite easy to learn each other’s languages. The Dutch are more direct than the Danish, but the Danes find direct people brave and that’s good 😂 Sweden certainly has a different vibe.

@@JustBrusselsThings To be fair, I really dislike that some Dutch people express opinions without taking consideration to the others feelings, some even are just seeking confrontation. Swedes really do their best to be nice to the other, and really do their best to avoid confrontation. It suits me better, but spontaneous conversations rarely happen in Sweden, Danes seem much better in that sense. Maybe 'best of both worlds..?" Would be interesting to hear your impression of Sweden!

@@CreRay I 100% get why you feel that way! It really does seem confrontational, the Belgians feel the same about it - not very confrontational and very much considering each other’s feelings. I think the Dutch feel a strong, inherent obligation of ‘telling the truth’ and especially the Danes feel super frustrated if they cannot air their opinions and concerns immediately. To deal with them, you have to take a deep breath and remind yourself it really isn’t personal. I feel the Belgians are great at dealing with the Dutch and Danes in those situations, they are like ‘right okay, just take a deep breath’ 😂 I think dealing with confrontation is really the biggest culture difference here, and we might look at each other as being crazy sometimes 🤪 I have often felt frustrated why my Swedish colleagues wasn’t just telling me what was up. Luckily there are some who are good to deal with us, so it’s definitely not all.
