Schell Games, you make the best VR experiences, I love the IEYTD story. Thank you for another one of these brilliant games. I hope there are more games in the now trilogy.
@@garrettmunn4111quality over quantity with these games. For what you get out of them, they are priced perfectly. 25-30$ for 6 or so premium escape room scenarios (with multiple solutions and side objectives) with wonderful world design and voice acting (plus their S tier opening cinematics) is frankly a steal IMO.
In order from first game to third, the villains can be summed up by -business major never taught ethics -theater major never taught ethics -engineering major never taught ethics I love these games
Hope everyone doing good and staying safe. If you need to talk to someone or need help, there are people who care. Sending support and hearts. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's amazing how the villain always sings to you personally. It's not generic. You can FEEL how what they are saying is directed and only directed towards YOU.
It also has a bit of tragedy to it. At least from a theory I have from existing trailers, Roxana is probably sick and tired of her peak being the telekinetic implants, and how she was constantly dismissed afterwards. She’s built better than you, yet was still shown the door without the agency giving her a single thought to anything else. Including the development on purely robotic agents. It seems like she’s spiteful due to this “typecasting” of sorts, her work was her soul, after all, and joined the opposing side as a result. This isn’t just a statement on how you’re gonna die. This is her singing how the players existence ruined her future work and life, indirectly or not, and how she’s going to make you pay for it. To her, it’s *personal.*
@@abbycollinsyou can feel it in her voice. The way she growls certain lines, specially in the "no more" chorus, you can practically feel the frustration and spite in her voice.
Dr zor: honestly seems like they have some form of mutual respect for you because of some of the lyrics. Almost like they enjoy the chase to an extent. John juniper: almost seems like a mix of arrogance and envy. Definitely has the biggest bone to pick with the agent. Dr prism: a very “this is the way it has to be” attitude. Like she doesn’t really have anything against you personally but will stop you if you get in her way. (I haven’t played the 3rd game so I could be very wrong about this)
@@sablonanime650prism only wants you dead to prove to the agency that her robotic agents are brtter than humans. She wants to save more lives. Ykurs is just the cost. Zor just tricked her. John. He wanted to put on the biggest show. Be a better actor than the best spys. And have created an unforgettable event. Zor...ehoever they are...they have a connection with the agency...and whatever the case. Tbey enjoy the chase. The game...but theres 1 thing they dont expect. They dont expect you to die. After all. Your the best of the best.and have proven you wont die like the rest
It’s core not soul witch could indicate that the plates implants are powered by one of those blue crystals. For me though it’s been “gears of change will grind in strange ways tearing down the walls we made” It’s at 1:54
Haley Reinhart (the singer) sang this IMMACULATELY. The art, design, visual composition and music/signing give me chills whenever I return to watch one of these intros. Bravo.
Haley was so good in this! Honestly you can feel the character in how she speaks. The line "No more accepting just good enough" being given so much fucking flavour despite only being said three times
I love that most of the song sounds like a person finally breaking away from a constrict system. Only certain part protray a villain, makeing this song feel more like a fall from grace then anything.
Indeed. This time, it feels like the villain wanted to truly improve the world, but the system bound her and made it impossible... So she broke away, to instead pursue her goals by any means necessary... Even if it means destroying the current world to make the new one better.
@qwertyram4598 I wish more stories found a way to do this better. Thanos made no sense through most of the movies because he wanted to be a noble monster, but he was so clearly not, and he broke that idea so much. His whe thing was over population, bit we have seen on earth that a lot of those problems are due to poor management and whit their technology and near infinite supply of resources that is space, over population would never be a problem. This story works much better for me as she is shown to have tried to work in the system repeatedly and been shut down despite her having been shown to have done amazing things. Plus, the big bad is known for being very convincing and good and turning people. Sorry for the rant, I just love stories.
@Alpha-zb8sp that too, when you give someone God powers and they are trying to be moral, you have to do a corruption story. Do the villain at the end of P5R if you want that story.
A lot of VR games have turned out disappointing, or are just physically too uncomfortable to play, but this series is an absolute exemplar for the medium! SO excited to see a third one!
I love the I Expect You To Die songs so much, they perfectly encapsulate the Spy Fantasy of being David against the entire Universe, not just Goliath. Hearing the Villain be so oppressively certain of their victory and listing all the ways they have to erase your existence and how painful they can make it in this caliber isn't even threatening anymore, it galvanizes the shining Knight Ideal and sounds more like a challenge than a threat.
To me, these songs are much more about the villains than the agent. It's not David and Goliath. It's David and David who worked themselves into insanity to become Goliath. You can HEAR the dreams of those villains, their ambitions, obsessions, their descent into madness. It's a fight between someone on the verge of greatness and someone determined to save the world from them. It's amazing!
I didn't think that it was possible for the second song to be on par with the first one, and now, the THIRD intro is just as incredible as the first AND second intros. Schell Games is freaking brilliant. I am excited to see what they can do for the fourth game. And for this game I hope John Juhniper from the second game returns. Edit: He didn't return. Sad. Edit: Wow... I did not expect to get this many likes. Dang. I feel recognized.
I have shown up so say one thing John is not there when you fall down the elevator shaft meaning he ran away and probably escaped so it is somewhat possible
I'm not sure. He got a truckload of volts to the face, then plummeted several stories. Agent Phoenix can survive that, but Joan Juniper probably can't.
It's pretty fun how the video also does that with stuff like showing you in the mine blowing something up, underwater blowing something up, in the mountains with the powerful wind blowing. It's pretty neat
WE MAKIN IT OUT OF THE AGENCY WITH THIS ONE 🔥 I had the thought of merging my lyrics with this comment so yeah. (OooOOoooh, ooOO0Oh) You showed me the door, Well I'm breaking it down, Even you can't ignore, The new world that I found, (oh) Now I'm forging a fight, One I'm certain I'll win, All that's left is who's right, And who pays for the sins, oh, No backing down, no giving up, No more accepting just good enough, I have a world to make, Unbreakable rules to break, I'll build a castle, I'm the queen, You're just a cog in my machine, yeah (ooooh), (oooh) So you're the best of the best? well lets see if it's true, I'm less than impressed, I built better than you (oh), I made you before, I can take you apart, I'll reach in to your core, and rip out your heart, oOOhoo No backing down, no giving up, No more accepting just good enough, I have a world to make, Unbreakable rules to break, I'll build a castle, I'm the queen, You're just a cog in my machine~ oh~, Gears of change, will grind in strange ways, tearing down the walls we make, Now who are you? Another form of control, understand what I do, (oh) it's the work of a soul, (oh) No backing down, no giving up, No more accepting just good enough, I have a world to make, Unbreakable rules to break, I'll build a castle, I'm the queen, (oooh) You're just a cog in my machine,
Every song is just like every bond film. Charming. Bigger. Better. And of course, unforgettable. I loved the humble beginnings of the first. I loved the more spy feeling in the second. Now this is truly going to be something really special. I just know it.
Well, the second was better than the first but this is worse than both of those. I mean, dont get me wrong. this song is FANTASTIC... it just doesn't compare.
I love how the singer in every opening song in the series is in the perspective of the villain, the first game, probably Dr Zor. Second, John Juniper. This game, Dr. Prism.
This is probably my favorite opening yet. Haley Reinhart does an OUTSTANDING job. I will absolutely be listening to this on repeat for a while. So excited for when the game comes out!
Haley Reinhart is the real deal. Her versions of Creep, Don’t Speak and Seven Nation Army are phenomenal. Btw, her rendition of Don’t Speak also has a sort of 007 flavour.
I want to cry to this but I've been holding back my emotions for years, I know it's unhealthy, but I just feel like everyone around me judges me and I have to be perfect. I also feel like everyone secretly hates me, I honestly just feel alone.
This song just literally just screams James Bond. LOVE IT!! The credits also reminds me of Skyfall and No Time To Die. Haley should even record the next James Bond theme song for Bond 26.
@@theworkshopwhisperer.5902 listening to the song, yes. Since I know both singers as collaborators for the same band called Postmodern Jukebox, Haley Reinhart is my idol. You must watch them, Haley Reinhart and Puddles the Clown, sing Mad Word. Great rendition, but the disparity in height between them is hilarious.
@@theworkshopwhisperer.5902 tough to call. The first one is too Broadway like. Second and third are very close. In the second one the brass instruments and Puddles vocals are a great combo. In the third one the beginning of the song and Haley’s vocals work very well. I would call it a tie between 2 and 3. But I may be biased because Haley is my idol. You must watch Puddles and Haley singing Mad World with the group Postmodern Jukebox. The height difference is comical. Also, Haley recorded a cover version of Don’t Speak, also with Postmodern Jukebox. It also has a James Bond vibe.

THIS IS SO GOOD OH MY GOD 😭 I can't wait to finally be able to play the game ! Edit : IT'S HAILEY REINHART TOO ???? THIS JUST MAKES IT SOOO MUCH BETTER THIS AMAZING
In IEYTD the intro song has a threat you meet, in 3, a mad scientists driven by world domination, 2 a ego hungry actor driven by pride, but 1, it gives the feeling that youre talking to death herself, only motivated by your demise.
For number 1, I felt it was less “death staring you down” and someone who knew you couldn’t touch them wanting to play a game of sorts. The chess board, how they keep almost wanting you to make progress, it seems like entertainment to Zor. Feels like they’re wanting you to keep going because it’s fun to see you try.
One: Iconic Two: Memorable Three: Epic The fact you guys made three SOLID opening credit sequences and song numbers is incredible. I fucking love this series!
0:05 I just realized. If you listen closely, the beginning of this opening starts with notes in the background that sounds similar to the beginning notes of opening 2 then transitions to opening 3's theme.
I just had to go back and re-listen to the previous two themes and now I can confirm... And this is no lie even though I am a spy, that we shall certainly be expected to die from how insanely good that theme was. I am very willing to be the cog in the machine if it means we get to hear more songs like that, jolly well done.
First song: A tone that acts like your just a pawn in a game The theming is as if Zor sees you as a pawn in a game of chess, dispatcher could possibly be the king (due to him being away from all characters and commanding you from a distance). Zor’s literally not doing it just for evil, she’s doing it for her entertainment Second song: Absolutely bastardizingly prideful tone I don’t think I need to explain this as much, but the 2nd antagonist sees himself as a valuable asset (for anyone seen the end we all know what his worth was to zor) Third song: A wrathful tone I can physically feel the absolute rage behind Dr. Prism as if you’re essentially the root of her problems. The lyrics all have the same effect of *”You’re going to fucking suffer for ruining my life”*. Despite having the same message of “Usurping the king”, it feels less like she’s hired and more so she wants whoever wronged them toppled from their throne just to to rule from it in spite.
@@HammerDownNu-7 it's hunted in game that zor is female notably the picture in the private logge the pictures we find in game in ieytd 3 of the founders and how when you beat a level in there you can find a picture of the founders with one hidden behind a plant possibly hinting one abandoned the agency and how when we hear them it's changed but sounds slightly feminine
Ironically, you actually are the root of her problems. It sounds like she made the telekinesis that you use, and so your success means they don’t “need her” anymore. She served her purpose, allowed you to use telekinesis, and now she can leave because she”s being problematic. *you are her worst invention*. She’s so pissed off because *you did indirectly ruin her life*.
Best. Intro. Any game, ever. The rhythm in some of the lyrics (“No backing down, no giving up. No more accepting just good enough.”) is sublime. This intro sequence is my new thing to put VR virgins into. Roll over Richie’s Plank!
Lyrics: You showed me the door When I’m breaking it down Even you can’t ignore The new world that I’ve found I’m forging a fight And I’m certain I’ll win All that’s left is who’s right And who pays for the sin No backing down, no giving up No more accepting ‘Just good enough’ I have a world to make Unbreakable rules to break I’ll build a castle, I’m the queen You’re just a cog in my machine You’re the best of the best Well let’s see if it’s true I’m less than impressed I’ve built better than you I’ve made you before I can take you apart I’ll reach into you’re core And I’ll rip out your heart No backing down, no giving up No more accepting ‘Just good enough’ I have a world to make Unbreakable rules to break I’ll build a castle, I’m the queen You’re just a cog in my machine Gears of change will Grind in strange ways Tearing down the walls we made Now for you Another form of control Understand what I do Is the work of a soul No backing down, no giving up No more accepting ‘Just good enough’ I have a world to make Unbreakable rules to break I’ll build a castle, I’m the queen You’re just a cog in my machine
You showed me the door Well, I'm breaking it down Even you can't ignore The new world that I've found Now I'm forging a fight One I'm certain to win All that’s left is who’s right And who pays for the sin And the first line of the refrain is "No backing down; no giving up". Other than that, you've got it.
The song and animation is basicly forshadowing the actual game like the when it says rip out your heart it was actually ripping out the crystal that gives him telekinesis
She sounds like she is the hero of her own story. She was beated down. Told her inventions would never work. But she persevered and refused to accept that her work was just good enough
OH MY GOOOODDD THIS IS SUCH A BANGER. I DIDNT THINK ANYTHING COULD BEAT THE LAST GAME'S INTRO GRAAAAH JOHN HAS SOME SERIOUS COMPETITION (He will lose because he is dead and cannot compete in anything)
"Ahem?Sir I think we found a "revival gun" made by zoraxis near johhn" "A what?" "Revival gun.good thing he's not sentient or he would zap himself with this thing and we would have to deal with that guy again" "Sure is a_" *revival ray fires because someone tripped on it and hits Johnn. "I HAVE RETURNED!" "OH CLUCK HE GOT ZAPPED!"
I love that throughout 2 and 3 intros we see Red colour, like the symbol of ZOR and in the end of intro we can see, that Prism is in Red colour, just like in the second game intro we can see the big mask of the Red death in the end. This shows the influence of ZOR on the antagonists
I cant put into words how every single one of the openings is always the best. animation, colors, music, the singing voice (they sound so JHFBIAUSBF!!!) THE LYRICS. its like you cant miss!! There isnt a bad opening credit! Hell, id buy a vr just to experience this with my own 2 eyes its so good. Every new game has my new favourite opening and this still isnt enough to explain how they make me feel (good emotions)
@@judet2992 Really? I just did a quick Google Search and it seems like Bonnie, Puddles and Haley are all alive and well. I'd like to know your sources. Because if they're dead then it's really sad. 😢
here are the lyrics, from what I heard: [Verse 1] You showed me the door While I’m breaking it down Even you can’t ignore The new world that I’ve found, oh Now I’m forging a fight One I’m certain I’ll win All that’s left is who’s right And who pays for the sin, oh [Chorus] No backing down, no giving up No more accepting “just good enough” I have a world to make Unbreakable rules to break I’ll build a castle, and I’m the queen You’re just a cog in my machine, yeah-ohhh [Verse 2] You’re the best of the best Well, let's see if it’s true I’m less than impressed I've built better than you, oh I’ve made you before, oh I can take you apart I’ll reach into your core And I’ll rip out your heart, oh-ho [Chorus] No backing down, no giving up No more accepting “just good enough” I have a world to make Unbreakable rules to break I’ll build a castle, and I’m the queen You’re just a cog in my machine, ohhh-ho [Bridge] Gears of change Will dive in strange ways Tearing down the walls we made Now who are you? Just one line "I have made you before" And we know she was a former employee of our agency ......... Think agent phoenix is a robot? It would explain the constant revival.
Only a... year late, but I think it's saying "Made." like an actor saying a big role "Made" them. Dr. Prism "Made" the agent's career with the implants.
Every time I think they’ve made perfection, they somehow manage to keep one-upping themselves. I didn’t think it was possible for me to be even more excited about the game than I already was. Well done!
One thing i noticed is that all 3 games' intros are all in a eay minimalistic in colour. They dont have many colours aside from shades of the colours they use. And they only really add 1 or 2 colours that the one before didnt have. Like the 1st had only 3 or so colours and technically no shades of colours, the 2nd had some shades and like 1 or 2 more colours and this, the 3rd, only adds a few more shades and like anotjer 1-3 colours.
Every time you make a new intro cinematic for this series I am immediately re-invested in the world and ready to return to the agency. Could not be more excited for the release of I excpect you to die theee. Thanks so much for this amazing series!
Wait a minute, at 1:13 she says I have made you before, my guess is that she is a scientist at the agency and you actually died all those times she just remade you. And now she wants to move on and build better things.
This is a good idea until you think about it for too long. How would you revive in the third game and beyond. How would she fix you after you are blown up.
Spoilers. She says she made you before because she’s the one that gave you the telekinesis. She implanted it. I think she means she made you who you are now.
I remember getting this game as a Christmas gift one year I was already a big fan of the first two and the first thing I did after all the other gifts where open was play this. I finished the tutorial quickly (as I played the other two previously and am good at the controls) and was met with THIS The first two intros were amazing with the song and presentation but THIS THE IMAGES THE LYRICS THE RHYTHM THE SINGING!!!!
After the first 2 opening credit songs, I've been waiting for Haley Reinhart to be put on one of your credit songs and it's just as amazing as I hoped it would be.
A video is great, but I'm really looking forward to experiencing this in VR. Every time I see the opening credits from that perspective really gets you pumped up for what's to come. Looking forward to the release!
With the Zoraxis symbol falling around 2:00, I almost wonder if the villain's going to war with both the EOD and Dr. Zor. Could lead to an interesting team-up
She DOES say "Who are you? Just another form of control." I'd love it if she's playing both sides to bring them all down. I just started playing btw, the first mission made me rage a little. But I love how much more challenging it feels already.
Judging by these credits, those robots with those happy personalities are to offset expectations. The credits make her seem like the biggest threat we've seen so far and i hope the game does also portray that. I also love how your not specifically going "bad guy" with this one. Whereas the last two wanted to destroy the entire world, this villian wants to stop the agency from more pointless loss of human life, so she's making these robots to do so. But to prove they are better then agents, she has to kill a few. I feel like this is going to be an amazing game, and i cant wsit to play it
Connecting with your point about the villain, the part with the sinking Zoraxis logo makes me wonder if she intends to take down Zor with her machines.
I thought she just wanted to prove her bots are better then human agents? Because in that intro she was grinding coffins with the agency's logo on them. In fact I remember how she said to you "once you're dead, everyone will see just how superior my robots are to HUMAN agents" in the last trailer. So now i'm a little confused
@@alphanna9598 "But to prove they are better then agents, she has to kill a few." Which means she needs to kill a few (or more then a few) agents in order to prove these robots are better then a human. Or did I misinterpret the comment?
@@Astradenix I was talking a bit more about the preventing loss part, but your comment about killing more then just us as phoenix is actually a good thinking point. Maybe she wants to get rid of the entire agency itself!
