Draymonds punch ruined the entire vibe of the team. How can a veteran and champion punch his own teammate I'll never understand it. The team didn't discipline him at all which kills morale for the younger guys and now there's a divide within the org. Hope Poole finds his enjoyment again w the wizards in the future and glad I found your channel
It's just sad and this is coming from someone who used to like Draymond. Not to mention, if it can happen to Poole then it can happen to anyone on the team. Seriously, imagine the shitshow if Curry was on the recieving end of his temper tantrums.
@@Guiquipedia CARRIED!? Stop. The first one the needed Draymond and the bench, Steph didn't show up in the finals. 2 and 3 were Kevin Durant Stop that. Curry ran things for 4 but 1-3 he got carried in the finals.
Kerr's response to Draymond punching Poole makes more sense when you remember Kerr got punched by MJ, MJ faced zero repercussions, they stayed teammates, and Kerr jokes about it like it wasn't a big deal.
I found your channel 2 months ago. In my country basketball is not a big thing but I find it more interesting than any other team sport and your commentaries are very informative and fair. Thank you for your content! Wish you well!
It’s completely valid to feel bad for JP. He got traded to the second worst org in the league. He probably has no motivation to do well anymore and is still probably messed up from the punch….Draymond has done so much damage to the NBA it’s truly unbelievable.
@@TriquetraDs why are people insisting on only blaming JP’s ego…not saying he wasn’t arrogant at one point but to act as if the punch did nothing is crazy imo
@@km2460 I know actions have consequences but for me right now I feel Poole should move forward and start you know doing what he thinks he is .... The new younger players are really not taking shit seriously james harden got traded a similar way and worked on his game ...Poole should work on his game and help the team win
Poole had to learn how to play basketball with the wizards. He’s struggled early learning the offense and defense and after the trade deadline he’ll be the starting PG. the best for JP is yet to come
The thing is draymond barked at KD, lost them KD and steph and klay backed him. Then he punches poole, steph and klay back him. Steph and klay imo have enabled him aswell as the organisation If steph said the shit stops now, it would have stopped. But they just wanna be best friends i guess 😂
He played better towards the end of the season though… hopefully he gets even better for his second tenure in Washington but im not gonna get my hopes up too high like i did previously
JP is a pretty good player. But he really got a raw deal going to the wizards. He's not a star player. He's a great piece of a team, but not ready to run his own franchise. I really hope they let him go anywhere else and continue to grow. He deserves better.
It's definitely more salt and alcohol thrown in, and they let the narrative run about Poole being solely responsible for their troubles last year, they've having the season they deserve
Kuz was tearing the game up earlier in this season and I think it’s due to him not caring about anything when he gets on the court. He’s a little bit older and doesn’t really hear the footsteps that Poole is hearing. I don’t think Kuz be a superstar but he’s not a scrub as Espn would lead you to believe.
As a warriors fan I’ve grown so tired of the punch talk, but I have to say I really appreciated hearing your take on it and am looking forward to checking out the rest of your content. Cheers!
What is even funnier is that Kerr is now playing more obscure younger guys - I think the Poole extension was always a mistake, even before the Draymond of it all.
Jordan Poole is now where he wants to be, with a team that he can ostensibly lead to a championship, with a team where he can shoot whenever, however he feels like it. Now it's up to him what he does in his new team, what he does with his ball handling, ball play, defense, shooting, assists, coachability, focus & efficiency. He also has the advantage of youth, he's 24. All he needs to do now is to play well, shoot accurately, defend well & deliver & he'd get noticed by other teams. Is he doing this now?
Poole was trash as a rookie and Draymond was the only person praising him, saying Poole will improve and we know the rest. Dray said Poole was the hardest worker on the team. Dray can praise you, Steph can show you the way but its down to you. Poole was distracted by the lights and his ego got big but we can blame the punch
Mark Jackson was a good coach who had the locker room in check but that motion offense instilled by Kerr really saved Steph health wise and took them to the next level..
I don't pity Poole too much, but the GSW just handled the situation poorly. Green should have been suspended and, if he wanted, traded. He's always been a ticking timed bomb and his basketball isn't worth the hassle anymore.
Poole was the guy supposed to be maintained, because we know damn well he likely wasn't at fault for Green's behavior, we know Green acts before thinking and has explosive behavior, and Poole is younger.
@@VeteranVandalthe problem is in this case he KNEW wanted he wanted to do to Poole before he went to practice the next day(apparently the trash talking happened the day before)when it happened and that makes it more sadder and scarier, he low key plots on folks and knoes he can get away with it
I don't remember if it was just speculation but there was the idea that Draymond wasn't suspended because of ring night. If ring night is that important, fine but suspend him anyway after even if it is awkward.
Wow, why feel bad for JP? JP is a perfect case to show how too much money affects immature players. JP was instrumental for the one championship but that is why he’s making over $30 mil. Per year. Now, he just needs to prove everyone wrong by showing what he can do. Unfortunately, he hasn’t shown the motivation to be the top level player in the NBA. Regarding Draymond, I don’t condone his behavior but as everyone can see, he is NOT injuring players in the NBA. Even Adam Silver does not want Draymond to leave the league. He’s still good for the NBA drama and entertainment of NBA. Draymond is nothing like Bill Laimbeer of the Pistons. Let’s keep our perspective and not over react.
If all Poole truly wanted was to be "the man" why doesn't he have 147 FGA per game and leading the league in that category, instead of Kyle Kuzma leading the Wizards in FGA, also he got traded to the Wizards, I doubt that was his dream scenario. Poole feels more lost in Washington than anything else. And he got punched in the face by a "teammate" no wonder he wouldn't want to stay with a organization that didn't punish Draymond for that... Taking about Draymond and what concerns him not injuring other players, is more luck than not, and If he keeps this up he will eventually injure someone.
I think it speaks to your basketball fandom that you weren’t dazzled by the Warriors run, it was really easy as a casual NBA fan to know literally nothing besides steph klay and draymond. I think it’s totally fine to have distaste for how they’ve handled their organization. Also been loving the recent videos/rants, been a fan of yours for some years now but these last 2 vids have been the first that have been suggested
Whenever I think about Steve Kerr, I always think about Luke Walton. Luke Walton got a head coaching job basically off that stint of subbing for Steve Kerr. Luke Walton should never have been a head coach
The 2012-2013 Houston Rockets are worse than current Wizards. And the coach was Kevin McHale at Harden's 1st year on the rockets. Harden was just so good.
wtf? f’in Jeremy Lin that year had better numbers than Jordan Poole’s got currently, and it’s literally never been easier to score in the NBA What are you even talking about?
@@SomeChink No. Parsons had better numbers than Poole not Lin. Lin, Harden, Parsons, Patterson, & Asik Jones, Poole, Avdija, Kuzma, & Gafford Harden is just too good and he carried that rockets team to 8th seed with above .500 record.
That video of Poole and Wiggins talking about getting bags after they won a ring definitely lives rent free.. the Warriors should’ve just thugged it out instead of trading Poole. But they decided to choose sides instead of holding the team together.
As a Michigan fan, he was my least favorite player maybe ever to play at Michigan, thought he would be a career g leaguer and sadly that’s what it may come to
As a Wizards fan I don't feel bad for Jordan Poole at all. The man has the worst box plus minus in the league (or did a few days ago) leads the league in shots blocked and can't hit a jumper to save his life right now. I will reserve my sympathy for him once he starts playing at a fraction of his potential and the team still sucks, but I won't feel badly for a player that actively is making the team worse while having the biggest contract on the team.
He’s a good player. I don’t know if it’s the pressure or if he’s mentally just out of it after being traded but I still think he’s a very good player. We will see how he is in a few seasons. I can admit when I’m wrong though.
Loved the dynasty because of curry's humility and the years when the teamwork was less ego driven and the flow of passing and the underdog element of smallball with which normal folk can identify. I hated the internal response to the punch. I get that old dogs with new guys isn't suppose to work but that talented confident dude was humiliated nationally and lost all trust from his team, and then got blamed for having mindset issues. And now even getting dogged even worse. Such blantant bad human behaviour.
1:01 I’m a Warriors fan, and grew up in SF. We literally didn’t have fans before We Believe. I too hate nearly everyone that joined the bandwagon after the We Believe team. These people that Monta was a Top 5 pg, That David Lee sucked. Then once we started winning chips it just became even crazier with dumb takes cause folks got their basketball knowledge from local news lol.
They also provide the best trade ideas, like other teams would trade incredible players for peanuts with us lol. Only thing they got right is Moody needs more play time. I'm still waiting for front office to make the decision to trade away Draymond since 2017. Dude is pushing players out left and right, plus now he's part of that Klutch Sports cancer crew.
As a warriors fan here the thing about Jordan Poole yes he was the future but he not the star people thought he been he is what he is a microwave off the bench on a championship team but who knows how good jp would’ve been if he went to another team where u go really dictate your career like for example how good Jp would’ve been if he drafted like organization like the hornets
I know a pistons fan isn't talking about basketball hell lmao, and as a wizards fan, we DO NOT feel bad for Jordan Poole. He is consistently the worst person on the floor, can't even manage to get a 20pt game unless it's garbage time and now (thru his contract) is gonna set the Wiz back even more.
The Bulls didnt do anything to MJ for beating up Steve Kerr and he swallowed his pride and kept playing. He's probably dissapointed that Poole couldnt do the same.
I will defend the Wizards a bit. Sure, they absolutely have been an inept franchise for almost a decade, but they finally brought in competent people from other franchises to run the Wizards and it already shows by the fact that they are actually committing to a rebuild.
Monty has me convinced that Chris Paul has elevated his career. Dude doesn’t know what to do when it comes to building. I feel like he believes that no matter the roster he’s gonna try to actually win instead of teaching young players how to play together. And with his personality older players don’t like him so idk what kind of team he’s supposed to coach.
If he had better shot selection I would agree with you however he just be out there doin some bull you’re one of my favorite sports commentators but go watch the wizards play and tell me he isnt responsible for the loss with them wayy too deep 3s and just poor basketball IQ
I don't feel bad for Poole. After he got the money, his head got big. Started playing for highlight reels than playing within the confines of a team. The Warriors have their internal pecking order, and Jordan Poole did not fall in line once he got the bag. Kevin Durant knows there is a pecking order and he left because he's the last man in line despite winning them two chips. I disagree with Draymond punching him, but Poole being shipped off was going to happen anyway because he's immature. It is what it is.
@@fenixchief7 I said there is a pecking order. Draymond is still in town like how Klay is still in that team despite his weed addiction. It's so bad that it affected his motor skills- a shooter shouldn't have that bad of a decline in shooting. Poole cannot accept the pecking order, that's why he went and did things his own way.
I could never root for a team with Draymond Green on it. I think there's something wrong with Poole. Maybe he's drinking too much, partying a lot or on drugs. I hope not! I saw several Warriors' games the year they won the championship. This year, I've seen two Wizards' games. The Company I work for gets really good seats so I can always see the players very closely. Poole looks so different this year. His face looks different, he's not in as good shape as before and he's disheveled. Something just doesn't seem right. Maybe I'm wrong and he's just lost his confidence. I hope he can get back to playing well because I'm sure he's miserable getting crushed by the media.
So I played a low but competitive level of soccer and our first choice goalie punched me in the face in front of the couch he did nothing did not care. I did not stay on that team long after that.
DING DING DING! They figured it out WITHOUT Klay in that 2021-22 season. I think Myers knew it the very game Klay came back into the lineup vs the Cavaliers. No one wants to admit it unfortunately.
Simply put, JP and Kuz are now the main focus of the scouting reports, JP is learning now how hard it is to be the main man, that even at the pro level...there's levels to this. Scorers like JP are a dime a dozen in the league, give them the freedom to take that many shots with no repercussions, majority of the guys in the league can and will make buckets.
Take a dive into kurr's time with the Suns and you realize he didn't do anything but luck into a championship dynasty. The man's been carried his whole career.
And kofie here my question when has two timeline has ever work out said of Tim Duncan with the spurs and Kobe with the Lakers the Celtics couldn’t get it done in 2018-2020 due to injuries and too many talent on team and yet to win a championship with Jb and jt and for the spurs with Kawhi yes they had won a championship but he was supposed to be there guy and due to injuries and miscommunication he got traded
First, it's kinda weird to see a Pistons fan hate the best basketball product out of Michigan of the past decade so much. Second, Jordan Poole wanted out of the Warriors, he got it. He was already being scouted post championship causing a drop-off (I honestly believe the whole "punch destroyed the Warriors season" narrative is stupid), on the Wizards he's just got the better perimeter defenders on him rather than on Steph and Klay. I kinda don't feel bad for him; he is now properly memed on as a backlash to being heavily overrated, like Kuzma was when he left the Lakers.
I'm a steph curry fan, my loyalty to the warriors dies upon his exit from the organization. I don't like steve kerr, nor the warriors front office. Jordan Poole is a genuine tragedy and I hope he grows.
Professing that one is an absolute Draymond hater, does nothing to lend credibility to this take or to the host being taken seriously as an impartial journalist. It’s also very convenient to gloss over the various shortcomings in Mr Poole’s game, ie; poor hoops IQ, suspect ball handling, one on one or team defense. Poole would be much more advanced if he was actually half of the player that he believes that he is in his mind.
Don't get all your lame excuses for Poole in Washington. Its obvious that he's not that good. I personally expected him to be bad in Washington because he's a inefficient volume shooter. Even his 3pt shooting in GS wasn't that spectacular.
Seems like youre willfully leaving out a lot of context. Say what you will about draymond but he hasnt made a career out of punching teammates in the face, and i think its more than safe to assume poole earned that punch. And then for poole to be the one thats then TRADED, speaks volumes for something he was doing that lots of people in the organization didnt like.
So ima say this. Dray should have left before Poole was even considered. Idc what anyone says. There other players like draymond out there. In fact they had that in Eric paschall and they let him go long ago.
It is inexcusable that Warriors chose to do nothing about JP punch, that is so fucked up. What if the video didn't leak, what, Green would have been allowed to punch people constantly? Heck, makes you wonder what goes on in that locker room that hasnt been filmed. Green is the embodiment of trash. All his acts are sneaky sucker punches. He's not a dawg that he thinks he is.
I believe it was David west alluded to that if we only knew what went down in the lockerroom sometimes. Make you wonder what have they allowed Green to get away with
The "championship ceiling" is the same thing for Andrew Wiggins with GSW. On Reddit, you see people super confused about why he's doing so poorly this season. Not to downplay his personal tragedy, which obviously plays into it, too, but he was very much like this with the Timberwolves. It's literally why they traded him.
I think the Draymond punch destroyed the concept of a 'Team' for JP. Once he realized the Warriors weren't going to punish Draymond at all for the sucker punch he probably checked out and didn't give a F about the team anymore. JP got a max contract and the franchise still didn't protect him or have his back. If a franchise is going to give me a max and not protect my interests, why should i protect their's? If i'm JP i'd say F the team and F the franchise. Last season after seeing JP fall off i thought it was either because of 1) lost all his confidence or 2) he doesn't care about the team or winning anymore. He's still arrogant so i guess we know which one it is. I believe the punch and no punishment was what ruined the concept of being a team player and prioritizing winning for JP. Now he just only cares about himself.
As a Warriors fan u shouldn’t allow the other weirdos in my fanbase to negatively effect how u view the entire dynasty. Yea our fanbase sucks but they aren’t the team or the dynasty.
Off topic but love the vibe and the spa background music lol. I like listening to analysis but dislike how chaotic and conflict-inducing some channels are. This vibe is refreshing.
